  1. My English wife died in Pattaya two years ago and while we were waiting for the monks in the Wat to complete their funeral  chants before the coffin "disappeared", an elderly Thai woman came into the cremation hall and started to sell lottery tickets. How about that for making my wife's cremation memorable. The Thais who were present, of which there were more than a few, said nothing of  course!

  2. My wife and I received our annual retirement visas in June this year. Because of an urgent visit to UK last year my wife and I are out of sync with our 90 day checks at Immigration. I checked last month. She has just realised she is overstay by 13 days and the Pattaya office is closed until Monday. What does she need to know and do before Monday, the earliest time she can call at Soi 8? What can she expect when she is confronted by the Overstay officer? Are we talking jail/deportation? Help please.

  3. The OK Corral Bar, Soi Rungland (opposite the International Telecommunications Center) has a large screen TV, friendly English host and many Aussies, as well as all beers at 50 baht. Good fun!

  4. I have a retirement visa and I need to return to UK for a funeral at the end of the week. How can I get a re-entry stamp at a weekend when offices are closed? How long will it take to process at Immigration on a weekday? What documentation do I need to show? I have been told I need to give a week's notice - this cannot be correct, or can it? Appreciate a prompt reply.
