  1. I have an 8-year-old Hitachi WM-P400GX water pump in need of repair. It appears to have a power problem (the display does not turn on). The power source checks out ok. Before giving up on the unit I'd like to have an experienced repairman check it out.  Any recommendations?

  2. I am going to shed some light on this situation.

Human beings are polygamous by nature. Monogamy is only forced on you by society. Because of this insanity and the suppression of your real nature sex has become a commodity. So even if, even if every single woman on this planet is a former sex worker, the only thing men can do is sh@t up simply because we have done it to them.

This theory is quite true; most men are not contented with one partner. However I have to disagree. As humans we have the freedom of choice, the issue here is one of self control. I would hate to think what the world would be like if we were only driven by 'what feels good'. Think of it in different terms, think of your mother or sister and how would you feel if she was being cheated on or viewed as a (former) sex worker by her chosen partner?

  3. I have 4 good expat mates living here in Chiang Mai. Only one was unfortunate enough to have married a 'bar girl' and he's in the process of getting a well deserved divorce. The others met their wives outside the ever present bar environment in a more traditional dating manner. As for myself I met my wife outside of Thailand. We picked Thailand as our home simply for the cost of living and taxes. BTW the friend that did end up with a 'bar girl', my now next door neighbor was up front and open about how he met his soon to be ex and what she did for a living.

  4. I use man bag aka messenger bag all the time, both here, the US and Canada. I ride a motor bike (111 cubic in SS pro street) whenever I'm back in the US. The use of a messenger bag is ideal for riding. I could not imagine having anything in my pockets during a ride (especially back pockets). I don't equate a messenger bag with being feminine or carrying a purse. For those that do, wonderful, everyone is allowed an opinion.

  5. Hi, I wanted to share my situation and hear people's opinions on it.

I have recently become inspired to become an English teacher. I believe I have a lot to offer and am preparing to start a CELTA (With a YL extension). My problem is I don't have a degree. I need to know how much of a problem this is going to be. I love Thailand and would love to teach there. I am also considering studying for my CELTA there. What obstacles am I likely to face?

I believe I am proficient enough to positively contribute to the learning experience. I know I will work hard and be a good teacher - I have experience in a British Primary school and I also taught English to some 5 year-olds in a school near Krabi. I fell in love with being a teacher that day. My family business has been accommodating foreign language students, so in a way i've been giving informal English lessons my whole life. I have enjoyed each and every time I've had the opportunity to teach someone language and it just feels like a natural calling for me. I also pick up new languages quickly and having already learnt some Thai will seriously consider an ED Visa and Thai language course. I am also considering beginning an Open University degree. How would these two options affect my situation?

I would like to start in Thailand but would like to be able to teach in other countries too. How realistic are my dreams? Should I just give up now or does anyone think they are possible?

    Unfortunately you need the creds.

  6. This is my final post from the UK, in around 36 hours, I will board my flight from Manchester to Amsterdam and then on to Bangkok.

There have been friends in the UK and many have tears to see is leave, but we all have a finite amount of time in life and I dont intend on wasting mine in the UK.

Thank you for your supportive messages in advance, next post will be from Shangri La BKK.

    Ta Ta For Now.

Can you detail what compulsion is driving this quest other than better weather?

  7. Some day-traders may say yes, especially if you have a tolerance for risk,

You better learn a lot! Risk is inherent and managing risk is one of the keys. Getting good trade location is another, managing your psychology for better exits is another. Trade setups and indicators are the very least of your concerns. Learn to accept and manage probability and risk and work hard in understanding the nuances of the market. Trade for points not pips. Don't try for home runs either. Document everything and have a plan before you do anything, work out stops in sensible locations and targets that are attainable, then work out risk and reward and compare to your expectancy from your records of past trades on any given setup. Grade yourself.

Can you get rich? Yes but not if you dabble or listen to people trying to sell you the latest greatest indicator. Some are valuable but most are lagging so don't waste your money on them. Understand where buyers buy and sellers sell and the psychology why and make your entries there. Plan everything. Never chase.

    Ah enough!

Written by someone who I believe has more than a passing interest and a background in trading. I couldn't agree more. It takes patience, skill development/education and the right frame of mind. It's open to all but many fail because they simply do not understand the markets and/or won't devote the necessary effort to learn. Can you make money, yes. Is it for everybody, no.

  8. Bad idea on so many levels. You need to assert yourself. At the very least joint ownership of the house with legal rights to the land the house sits on for many years to come. The condo idea is the better of the two. If she fails to follow your lead then I would consider moving on with my life.

  9. [quote name="GuestHouse" post="8008123" timestamp="1403491719"]I once witnessed a very nasty incident in which the police where called to an international corporation office in which there were three flags flying; the Thai flag in the centre, then spaced about 15 meters either side two other national flags (relating to the nationality of the corporation).

When a senior member of staff died at work someone took it upon themselves to put the flags at half mast.

A member of the Thai staff then measured the heights of the flags and discovered the Thai flag was a nat's cock lower than one of the other flags.

Thai staff stood guard over the flags until the police arrived - A significant amount of money changed hands to avoid arrests and criminal charges.

I'd advise flying no flags or the Thai flag only or make sure your Thai flag is visibly higher than your own country flag. [/quote

You are correct. However if you're suggesting they follow proper flag protocol then the flag has to be taken down, removed at dusk or steps taken to ensure the flag is lite up at night, never in the dark. I'm simply pointing this out as a matter of interest. I lived on a NATO base for a number of years and flag issues cropped up from time to time.
