About Me
Thanks for checking out "About Me" about Polsci. I also want to thank many knowledgeable posters who expand my own views about my homeland. Your opinions count and are duly noted.
I am a Thai native who came to the States as a young adult (IR-2) with my mail-order bride Mother (K-1). Political science was my major in college.
Treated as enemy combatants, my Lao ancestors were brought to Siam from Vientiane as a result of Prince Anouvong's defeat in the early 1800s. They were originally interned near Uthaithani province but much later were allowed to move freely to other cities in Central Thailand and Isaan. Thai names were adopted; Thai citizenship was granted. Besides the Central Thai dialect, I grew up speaking fluent Ubon dialect when my parents moved to Isaan as migrant workers during Vietnam War.
Now retired from the U.S. government after a senior-level civilian gig deployed to Afghanistan with the U.S. military, I live in sunny Florida. I volunteer, blog and write anonymously. You may find me at globalsquatter.wordpress.com.
In pursuit of complete renunciation at a forest monastery. Only a few years away. The journey on that blissful path already started.
