Can anyone tell me how many months a Thai passport holder needs on their passport to re’enter Thailand?My son 

is dual national so has two passports one British and one Thai.He will be leaving next month with 8months left on his passport and will 

come back with 5 months left on his Thai passport.Asking on this forum as I cannot get a straight answer from any official sources in Thailand.

Got my 90 day report due on 12th March.My wife is on holiday in her home town and will not be back 21st March,

can I report on my own in this instance as I normally attend Immigration wife my wife.Will be going to Samui Immigration.

This case might have implications for a lot of developers on Samui,The villas that they are talking about are I assume the ones on the peninsula that juts out into the sea opposite Replay condominiums,The villas that were not cheap were bought mainly by foreigners,now that the land has been seized by the State does that mean that the people who bought these villas either on long lease or land title automatically lose their houses?

When I drink in a bar here I pay for my drinks as I order them.

Running up a bar tab here can lead to problems as many of

these bars are struggling to earn a living and will try and add

the odd drink to the bill,I have been here many years and seen

numerous tourists get into grief with locals here on Samui

over bar bills ,taxi fares etc ,these locals will attack mob handed

and tooled up if the odds are heavily stacked in there favour.

pay as you go in bars and always negotiate taxi fares to avoid

possible trip to the hospital or even the morgue.

Apparently all the hospitals on Samui are full this morning,Every year here on NYE ,Songkran

etc there is carnage on the roads in Samui.Some of it can be blamed on the poor condition of the roads but from what I saw last night was mainly idiots of all nationalities driving bikes paralytic drunk at excessive speed many of these drivers by watching the way they drive have very little or no experience of driving motorcycles.The owners of these hospitals must be raking in the money this morning either in insurance payouts or extorting large amounts of cash money from those who unfortunately have no insurance.

In my experience most estate agents start off with good intentions,when they realise that they can make more money building

and selling their own properties they turn from estate agents into developers who will push your property down to the bottom of the listings and only direct fresh customers to their own product.

If you cant do the time don't do the crime (unless your a billionaire or a policeman as you will never be charged)

The Police who perpetrated this kidnapping for ransom need to be made an example of,putting them in an inactive post or at a desk is not enough,they need to be banged up,If a villain had carried out this crime and were caught they would be in a world of trouble.If your going to be a villain be a villain,dont hide behind a uniform to carry out your crimes,and give the few decent Police a bad name.

Oonrak is a very nice school has good facilities but is more Thai based than ISS,my son goes to ISS and I have seen non English speaking kids from Thailand,Russia pick up English very quickly,of the two schools I think ISS is more expensive but the school is being built up and improved all the time.

The last time I saw the wreck of the plane it was at the chaweng end of the runway behind the Chinese temple and graves,dont know if it is still there or has been moved.

You must be new or English is your 2nd language doesn't it say on OP it's been moved from the airport.

I was just putting out what happened to warn other people who live here to be on the lookout,hence the description of the car and what the "policeman" was wearing.I thought that was what these forums were for.

A photo of the incident will do just a copy off your cctv footage post so we can see.

Unfortunately we only put the CCTV on when we are out of the house,obviously after this incident I will leave it on 24/7.Even if it was on it does not cover the street so we would not have picked up his number plate.Although the description of the "policemans" car ,short stature,and clothes might give people a clue if he shows at their house.The incident happened in Bangrak just off the bon kai road (ghost road).

Two days ago me and my wife who is Thai were sitting in the garden when a brand new white pick up truck with blacked out windows pulled up in front of the house,a Thai man who was about 5 foot three inches wearing a tee-shirt with the Glock handgun company logo,brown tight Police style trousers and a pair of patent shiny boots came into the garden and produced a magazine with policemen in wheelchairs and asked me to donate 4000 baht for a wheelchair or 10000 baht for other equipment,my wife asked him to produce ID which he did but my wife thought it was bogus.I know some police here on Samui and I said to him I have never seen him before,my wife also pointed out to him that our house is covered by cctv,he quickly realised he was getting no money out of us and left quickly.My question is did anyone else get a visit,and is the normal way for Thai Police to collect money for their benevolent fund.?

I have had a slight bit of interference on Sky News,but overall the picture seems better quality than True on HD and normal channels.

Just had my CTH satellite fitted this morning on Ko Samui,the technician had come from Nakon ti Sammarat and said his team are the only ones fitting systems at the moment on Samui and Ko Phangnan he said he had a list of 20 today and I was number six and it was already 1pm.I estimate there must be at least 1-2000 still to be fitted if you include bars and private houses,a lot of work to do before August 17th.

Just been down to the cth dealer in Pattaya, the lady I spoke to could speak and understand a little bit of English, so we muudled through my nit noi Thai and her nit noi English. Paid 3500 baht then have to pay two lots of 899 baht = 1798 baht to engineer when they come to fix the satellite, box etc.

Total = 5298, does that sound right from the people who have all ready got it. I am only going to pay monthly.

For anybody in Pattaya, if you enter pattaya thai [south road] from sukimvit , I would say it is about 250 yards down, it is on the left hand side next to the animal hospital, they now have a sign outside saying CTH.

The lady told me they will be coming to set me all up on the 5th of august, I have got my fingers crossed.

Mine is monday,only booked it 2 days ago.Paid 3,500 baht for installation,box/dish,but nothing said about the monthly payment.So they are asking for 2 months up front on installation then????

I think you are right you pay the installer for the first two months,and they will give you a CTH receipt.

Here on Samui I went to the Astra shop by Tesco to see how much it would cost me The owner of the shop is confident that the new provider of the EPL will have boxes and dishes on the island b4 the new season begins so he told me to wait as the price per month would be 850 maybe he was full of BS but I will give it a couple of weeks It is my belief that there are conditions tied to being awarded to the EPL such as providing all those who want it if this is correct maybe we should all start emailing the EPL to ask what the hell is going on in Thailand !!!!!!!!!

I also live on Samui and got my wife who is Thai to phone the number on CTH website ,she spoke to a girl on the phone who has put us on a 15 day waiting list,we were quoted 4258 baht to install satellite and box,966 baht for the first month then 899 baht every month if you are paying monthly,They told us if they don't contact within 15 days to ring again.Dont sound to promising for the start of season but at least they are starting to get their act together.

Last time I went to samui, admittedly we stayed in chaweng, I witnessed four different brawls / assaults (westerners on westerners) and numerous lone drunks stumbling down the main road hassling everyone.

One bald headed cockney who, whenever I saw him during the week we were there, always had dried blood on his face and was absolutely hammered stopping at every person he came across and doing things like taking a sip from their drink.

This kind of stuff can happen anywhere of course. Just in my case it left a bad impression of samui. And it was due to whiteys!

Until the Thais start to punish officials such as bent Customs Officers,Police Officers,Immigration Officers,Civil Servants in key jobs such as people in the Transport Offices,Planning Office etc corruption and graft will carry on unheeded.The two guys who ran this company have obviously been up to no good but without a lot of officials helping them every step of the way they would not have got these cars into the country and onto the roads.This subject gets me riled because a few years ago I wanted to send a car from the U.K and was quoted a stupid amount of money to do so,Another poster suggested that the crazy amount of import tax on cars and luxury goods is brought down to a reasonable level,I agree that if they do this the temptation to cheat the system would be somewhat lessened.The D.S.I are probably scared to question all the officials involved in this case which is not how it should be,it doesnt take Sherlock Holmes to see where the blame lies,at the port of entry where the cars were unloaded would be a good place to start.
