  1. This just keeps on getting better and better..what a joke..

A blind man and his donkey could have completed the northern roundabout in a couple of months...

Then takes 2 to 3 months to paint arrows and erect signage?????? bizarre...

Better still...lets trial opening at the start of high season......brilliant!!!

And already, before opening he says''Palad Phunsak expressed some worries about this aspect of reversing the traffic flow in Patong after talks with the Kathu Police, especially considering how narrow Ruamjai Road is."

A comedy script writer would be hard pressed to beat this stuff...

  2. Be interested if the Australian media pick this story up in any way.

Yeh i hope so..expose her as what a pathetic biatch that she is, and hope some sort of womans group[rape support etc] get her on air and make her face up to her reality....she and others like her must make real victims want to tear into her....slap, slap, wake up ..

  3. The last unofficial TV party consisted of non retirement aged members, at least those of us at the same table as an ex mod. Snamos you were at the same table.

Yeah I was drinking with KBB the former moderater and volunteer policeman, any news on what is happening with him..is he still in Phuket jail?

What ever happened to rick and roll? i havent seen him on here for a while

Yes, good question, re; Ricks place...is it still functioning?I heard a while ago that a lot of single ladies were staying there... is Rick still here?

As for dokset..who gives a rats......hope is is suffering hugely, where ever hes at...coffee1.gifbah.gif

Blimey, you have been skulking silently in the wings waiting for a mention of KBB, sad bloke, oooop's sorry, perhaps your not a bloke. sad.png

    Blimey..you got serious issues stoop...giggle.gif

Been to visit the rat have you? Say hi next time your there...tongue.png

Strange that your the only ''bloke'' who has any empathy for the punk......bah.gif

  6. First getting involved with these tugs and then complaining about them. Talking about double morals.

    Why not read it first and then comment..;

On Wednesday night, at around 8pm, I was sitting in my shipyard in Phuket Town. Four bag men came to collect the interest on a 30,000 baht loan taken out by one of my former employees. These are the kind of loan sharks that offer desperate people high-interest loans. They threaten violence against those who fail to pay off their debts or keep up the interest payments," he said.

“I asked them to postpone the worker’s payment because he had resigned, which made them furious.

“I wasn’t even the one who had borrowed the money, but I am the one who was attacked,” said Mr Suthipong, who admitted that he had vouched for the employee in question.

Sure, he went guarentor, but not his loan as you imply...

.Also these 'illegal lender'' are often the only way the poor guys can borrow money....large amount of lower socio-enconomic thais have no option Not much chance at all for most to get bank money.......thats why they flourish..

  7. What purpose did this re-enactment serve?

They always seem to do that here.

I think it strengthens the prosecutor's case tremendously, and that that is the main purpose.

Agree stevenl, but also it's great for the press and I also think it's a way of getting the accused to lose face absolutely, a major punishment in this part of the world.

Personally I very much dislike the concept.

I dont just dislike it at all its so gross.......words cant describe the proceedure at all for me.. ...rubbing salt into the wound is all...its disgusting!!!!bah.gif

It may do so, but for crying out loud...the family are suffering enough already, and now have their home[and deathplace] of their daughter desecrated again for a theatrical re enactment.....bloody disgusting ....shame that no one did get to the rat...as someone said elsewhere, he'll cop it in jail....sure hope so!!!!!

I'm sure this <deleted> doesn't need to happen...its 2012 for gods sake...DNA, CCTV, confession from the rat etc,etc.....can make a strong case..!!!

  9. Another sad thing about this is the public, both Thai and expats and forum responses are far less intense than when the aus lady was murdered not long ago...different strokes for different folks , i guess....

Poor kid's death wont harm ''tourist $$$'' so not so much reaction...sad.png

I think the other way around. 'We can not harm the tourist $$$'s with this poor kid's death so no point in posting about it.' A vast majority of the posters after an event like this declare their distaste for Phuket here and try to stear people away from Phuket. But they can't do that here, so no reaction from them, only from the people much more sincerely involved in Phuket.

Now on re reading ...thats a weird response to what i said...totally changed the meaning of my post ..ermm.gif

No.I mean, i was referring more to the knee jerk reaction from the very top..PM herself pointing out how much money aussies spend here and the risk of losing it because of the untimely death of the aus lady.

That started off a whole chain of events and reactions from people of all walks of life.....this is not happening in this case..

Even the thais at kata reacted against ''the outsiders'' causing problems[being the murderers of aus lady]..ie possible/probable loss of tourist $$

This poor girl was murdered also by ''outsider'' but as she is 'just another victim'' theres no obvious reaction...thats basically what i was trying to say..

  11. This will clear things up....Amazing how in Thailand that the cops allow the crims and the victims to be together...if that was my relative i'm, sure the guy would now be in intensive care at a hospital of low repute!!

    Go to youtube...

Who is the Thai guy sitting next to the suspect? He is also handcuffed. Was he an accomplice?

There is nothing mentioned in the article about a second offender.

He originally said he had 2 accomplices...

After his arrest, Khun Kittikhun at first said he had acted with two other men, and that he had committed another murder, slashing the throat of a ladyboy.

But under intense interrogation at Phuket City Police Headquarters, he eventually confessed to acting alone.

  12. I like Phuket in general but this morning I've decided to scrap my plans to chill here for a few months - just not worth the money. Back to Chiang Mai for me. Thanks all for your tips and suggestions.

Good move..i have lived both places for years at a time, and for me also..soon back to C/M..much nicer place and people altogether..

The beaches?? Small consideration now...smog in C/M ?..no denying thats a curse at times, but the far better infrastructure, friendlier people [by far!!] and the general lack of 'bad goings on' that phuket has increasingly shown, but is not anywhere so prevailent in C/M ..

    Good call mate....

  13. a 15 years old can obtain a license but can drive a motorbike of 110cc maximum, this being a yamaha fino 114cc he broke the law.

I am pretty sure the law states or did state not larger than 100 cc for a 15 year old. The only bike I know of is the Honda Wave "100" which is 97.1 cc. But so what? The poor kid is dead and the family grieving. Who cares about what law he may have broken? Some people just don't seem to have a heart, not alone a clue...

What would you say if that kid was the responsible of numerous accidents because of his wreckless helmetless driving?

A dangerous bad educated kid will turn into a dangerous maniac and kill many people even if not caught.

Maybe his death was the universe saving future good people from dying because of him?

    wacko.pngpost-4641-1156693976.gif

  14. While tragic, I have a hard time feeling sorry for people who do not exercise common sense and drive without a helmet. Additionally, why is this kid driving a scooter with no license. He is not old enough to get one and his parents should be held accountable. That said, they will have to live with that for the rest of their lives.

15 is the age at which one can obtain a motorcycle license. I think if he didn't have a license it would have been mentioend...or maybe not. Pretty common for people to drive unlicensed here.

What is odd is the claim that he fell asleep. People don't fall asleep driving a motorcycle a few km's, they fall asleep after driving a car for hours.

Agree...how on earth can someone come up with ''falling asleep'' after the fact??..weird comment IMO..unsure.png

Kid could have dodged an animal, or been squeezed to the kerbside by a passing car, or any one of dozens of possible scenarios..

  15. And the root cause is the greed of the Thai land-lords.

Thats true, but the ''fresh off the plane-i'm gonna open a bar/restaurant newbies'' when offered a place at astronomical prices, and go...cor, blimey mate, thats cheaper than back-ome...sign me and my new darling up on that one....great stuff!!

Also adds to it...i think...Supply and demand..hand in hand...

  16. and nothing in the forecast for the next 10 days. i'm getting bored with too much sun again, just a few clouds would be nice at this point.

Hells bells...enjoy it while you can..this is the nicest 'low season'' weather for a long while..

rest assured..the rain will be back..sept /oct rainy as , usually...

Then you'll be complaining again about too much rain..smile.png

  17. Lol. Back on topic, I am enjoying not having so many tourists clogging up the roads, so bring on the low season after two months of nearly non stop rain.

Yes its really nice now..that was quite a rainy spell we just went through huh...but still quite a few tourists in pockets around the place.

Jungceylon is fairly busy day and night..more than previous years IMO

Have a friend who has a few spa type massage shops and this season is way busier than previous seasons...others complaining about lack of custom....

Phuket in general, but western and southern areas have seen a huge change in visitor stats...i see more couples/families, many many more chinese and koreans???and a lot of middle eastern types this far into the low season than last...
