  1. I bought the Electrolux ESF6010BW on Lazada.  It holds place settings for 8.  Stainless steel interior, makes it own hot water, auto soap and rinse dispenser, as well as a built in water softener.  Great unit--very quiet.  Bought it on Lazada for 12, 400 baht!

  2. I have owned many makes of cars in the USA including Fords and Hyundai. All the cars I have owned have given me good service as I always took care of them. I am not sure if the Ford's in Thailand are made to the same standard as the USA, but I do know world wide Ford is doing very well. They were the only American car company that did not need to be bailed out by the government several years ago. My friend owns a Ford Focus for 3 years now and not had any issues with it. The use by the previous owner might have something to do with it, but 1,000,000 miles on a car is the norm I think, before you are going to have to stick money into it. Car's are machines and will wear out.

  3. I have lived in Pattaya 3 years and love it here. I live near the beach and am walking distance to anything I want or need. While some American products are expensive here, it its still much cheaper to live in Thailand. With True Vision I am able to watch the same programs and sporting events I watched in the USA. No thoughts of going back!

  4. Pattaya has great restautrants, the beach, Nong Nooch Gardens, Aquarium, Water Park, golf courses, Million Years Stone Park, Sanctuary of Truth, etc. Walking Street is better than anything BKK has to offer. I would agree with previous comments--try to spend some time in BKK and some time in Pattaya!

  5. I would suggest a few more areas for the General to look at. Now that they have declared war on alcohol, why don't they do the same with cigarettes. That is something that would really help the Thai people. Another area the General could look at to stop corruption is the customs offices. They have been ripping off farangs for years. I was at the customs office in Laem Chabang recently and witnessed customs asking a farang who add ordered wheels for his handicapped cart to pay a duty of 5000 baht. They wanted me to pay 3000 baht for 4 bottles of vitamin supplements I ordered from America. Totally ridiculous!

  6. First of all, please understand that Fox News is a very right wing organization that does not represent most Americans. I am an American living in Pattaya and very proud of America and proud to be an American. America like every country has it's issues. However, it is the American military and the American taxpayers who sacrifice every day with blood, sweat, and tears to give most of the other countries in the world the freedom they have. If not for America, where would the rest of the world been after World War 1 and 2? If anything America can be accused of trying too hard to help other countries enjoy the freedom a democracy gives to the people. While democracy is a very messy form of government and gets bogged down much of the time, it is still the premier form of government on the planet. Every time there is a crisis in the world, it is America who comes to everyone's aid. American's have shed a lot of blood across the planet to try to help make a positive difference in the lives of the peoples in many countries. Maybe America cares too much about the rest of the world and should pull back and let the evils in the world take over in many places????

  7. Yes, it is difficult to educate people about the evils of smoking. I hope they are teaching the kids in the Thai schools about this terrible habit. Raising the price of cigarettes to a ridiculous amount and banning smoking in all public buildings, as they have done in the United States would, would be a good start in the battle in Thailand and other countries around the world. I lost both my parents, 2 brothers, and several friends to this terrible product.

  8. There is nothing wrong with Pattaya. If you like quiet you can live in Jomtien or on the East side. If you want more action you can live in town. Sattahip is also very nice, but much more quite than Pattaya. The nice thing about Pattaya is that there are things going on all the time if you are looking for things to do. Also, it is only a 2 hour ride to BKK. Pattaya has 4 hospitals and numerous shopping areas. Central Festival is as good as it gets for shopping malls.

  9. And by the way, I had one of the first Android 4G phones, the HTC Evo, so I have used both platforms too. I currently have an iPhone 5 and a MacBook Air. What does that tell you? Android tries to copy everything Apple does. My friend had Samsung and damn near destroyed it in frustration. He now owns an iPhone 5S. The fact is both phones are unbelievably good phone. Unlike one of the responders I will not talk stupid and put down the Android phones, but in my humble opinion I feel the iPhone is a more intuitive device. I prefer a phone that is user friendly and easy to carry around--no a bulky big screen. If I need a bigger screen for some reason, I would get an iPad or Tab.
