  1. Right thanks. But you need to use a fair bit of toilett paper to dry yourself off right?

You don't need to use much toilet paper at all if you get the angle right. Quick shake if ur at home, or a couple of sheets do the job if in the office. Sounds like u need a bit of practice to get your technique sorted out. I promise you won't be going back to TP once you are comfortable with the bum gun.

  2. This paper is infuriating.

WHY all of a sudden is it such a serious offence to refuse a fare? Who decided to change the law? Where are they going to house all of these new inmates?

A fine for a minor offence and jail for refusing a fare???? Someone find this paper some journalists

They used to have "western" Jurno's then replaced them all with folks from India and Bangladesh. (Serous)

To save even more money, many of the proof readers are out sourced back in India. Hence, this is why so much just doesn't make sense and is shallow. Some times I am not sure which is more news worth the nation or notthenation.

So true! Many friends in the industry had to move to places like Singapore becoz those in power 'thought' an Indian could do the same job. Hence the drastic drop in quality, and huge rise in errors! TIT

  3. This sore loser crap will be coming from people that achieved zero of this magnitude in a sporting context.

The guy is upset at being clearly robbed of the Gold medal. The unfortunate thing is that he is too old to use it as motivation and come back at the next Olympics.

Shame on the judges and the IOC should be arranging an investigation into this fight.

Well said 'theblether' - this sore loser rubbish comes from cretins who have never understood what it means to put your life and soul into a sport, and then be cheated when so close. (all ok for them to squeal though) Easy to criticise him when dying to get a dig in for 'hard done by farangs' - but we are not talking about their position right now. We are discussing sport, boxing, the Olympics, and a clealry cheated Thai guy of his gold medal by a pathetic referee & judge panel, and a very dirty Chinese fighter. How many of these critics have trained hard in the gym for 20 years??

  4. A look at the other side ... http://www.chinadail...nt_15670913.htm

    Also found a comment interesting...

Zou said attacking the Thai was too risky, as the Olympic bout was too short to make any mistakes.

"I was so eager for victory and felt so much pressure, but I had to be patient and cautious," Zou said.

"The fight had only three rounds (at three minutes each), and I couldn't afford to take any risk while attacking."

They really should have these fights be longer than 3-rounds.

Zou is a disgrace to boxing. Never seen such a pathetic excuse for a fighter in 30+ years!

  5. Now let me think, USA five times the population of GB and N Ireland. Did they get five times Gold Silver or Bronze?(quote)

Now let me think, according to your calculations and excuses why your country did not excel more at winning medals, then China and of course India should have beat USA by say 4x or 5x times. Come on! USA has the best competitive athletes in the world in a multitude of sports and we are proud of it! This topic is about a great Thai boxer that lost his fight to China and has shown unThai like qualities by being a sore loser in front of millions of viewers! I would have been more impressed with Thailand if their boxer would have just smiled and been proud to receive his medal and not cry like a child.

rbrooks obviously has never boxed and knows nothing about the sport! So best you keep quiet!

  6. In Canada that's 15 years minimum if tried as a juvy. 25 to life if tried as an adult.

What will be the result this time - a slap on the wrist? 'There, there...We know you are still a child...Still so much to learn...Say your sorry like a good little boy you are.'

Anyone who buys a gun, carries a gun in the street, and randomly shoots at a passing bus for no other reason than 'some' of the passengers are from another school - is clearly not a kid. 25 years to life!! Not so long ago the leaders of these technical schools were reprimanded for encouraging this violence. Nothing happens, and the wars continue...

  7. Maybe he can pay some of the tax he owes the British Government while he is here?

Have you paid yours there? Or here?

London is full of foreigners buying up all the property and making it unaffordable for the locals so I agree with the last poster.

But... you are here aren't you... or at least aspire to be, no? You want to buy a house and land here but deny the same for someone who prefers the UK to Thailand?

    Don't jump to conclusions...

  8. On the whole I couldn't care less what he does but there is one part of this story that makes me mad;

"He has a house in London"

Prick. He and his ilk do so much to try and stop farangs owning a house in Thailand. I would assume all the politicians own houses outside of Thailand. A-holes.

    Exactly, double standards!

  9. To a less lucrative one. Maybe front gate guard at an unused private VIP residence.

Just like the hospitals and pseudoephedrine- cats guarding the canary!

Often corrupt policemen will be transfered to Naraitwat. In our soi (in Bangkok) is one....the biggest house, well house, it is a palace, 3 new Mercedes...he also got transferred to the deep south. But just for limited time. I think you can get a transfer back for some financial aid to the decision maker.

Transferred untilt eh heat dies down, then invited back to continue as normal..

  10. "I have tried (to enforce the ban on such stuff) but money power has prevailed," Narong was heard telling Nakhon Si Thammarat police chief Maj General Ronnapong Saikaeo.

Poor man. He tried to ban phones and drugs, etc, but the inmates kept paying him not to. Those pesky inmates! Even in prison they're poisoning people's minds.

    Transferred or arrested?

  11. Thanks for voting.......suckers!

Has anyone tried to interview a new graduate, or worse, employed one? If the plan is to increase their first salary by 6 or 7,000 baht, what plan to improve the quality is in place? What about the people with no degrees but 3, 5 or 10 years experience who actually know their job? Are they going to be put on 20,000 plus minimum?

  12. "Such a pay hike in one stage would require Bt50 billion annually and affect the salary scales of private businesses, he said".

    Surprise!

And they didn't bother to work out this EXTREMELY simple calculation before telling everyone their 'grand' plan? Or will the 'red voters' not be put off by this childish claim? Just exudes complacency on a grand scale to most other people.

  13. Being British can be a bonus sometimes. However our embassies are some of the worst in the world for what they offer ex-pats or people on holiday abroad. They basically do absolutely nothing for you. If your having issues, medical, law e.t.c. it pays to be a U.S. Aussie, citizen or almost any other nationality!

In my experience the US, Aus or NZ embassies do more for British subjects than the British embassy.

  14. You all complain about Thailand not being fair to us farangs.

But when a government extends a courtesy to Thailand out of good will, - still negative comments.

Sure the UK has the olympics, - but they still have to ensure that who they bring in has some baht. Thus 3,000 baht. So what? Thailand does that. So, what is this crap.

I think that the Thai Government will appreciate this gesture.

And to the man that said - "what has this has to do with peace"? You kidding? Better always for a start towards that.

To offer fast track visas to Thai's is a good thing. Stop complaining people. That is what I mean by peace.

Someone has to start. If the UK Government has done that. Good.

Preman, a couple of points for you to consider. The UK government is not offering Thais anything. There has always been a "premium" service for certain groups of people - business people ( people the UK government see as "important " stakeholders, British Council referred students, airline personnel, etc, etc ). Ordinary visa applicants have always been excluded from this premium service. Now, some are included in the "new " priority service, but all are going to have to pay, including those who were previously given free priority. So what has the UK government actually done for Thai visa applicants, apart from charge them for what was a free service ?

Most of the year a visit visa application is processed in around 5 working days. Now, you are offered a service for a priority visa for 3,000 THB, but without any guarantee that it will be issued within the hoped-for 3 working days. It's smoke and mirrors, that's all.

Well said from someone experienced in this field.
  15. Don't.......Seriously!

There are so many guys near where I live that continue to fall in to this trap. They all end up separated and/or divorced. The reasons are simple. If your relationship gets that serious you want to marry then you will have to/pretend convert to Islam. Once you have children the problems will start. About the age of two or three the wife's parents will insist on a strong muslim upbringing for their Grandchild. You may be living away from the Grandparents home area, but your wife WILL up and leave with your child, back to her parental home. There are many broken hearted men I know and when I hear another is about to embark on the same course of action I just say why? I have not known a relationship in Thailand between a muslim girl/non muslim man end any differently. If you have a baby girl she will be a valuable 'asset' to the family, new blood, whitish skin, worthy of a good dowry. I am not being racist or bigoted, these are just the facts from many many thai men I know that fell in love with a muslim woman. All will be great and well until you have children and they reach toddler age. Your wife may even love you very much but when her parents say 'come home and bring the child', thats it, and you will get NO visiting rights.

By the way, don't be fooled by the no sex before marriage thing. Young Muslim women are just as curious about sex as any other young woman, but don't get caught, her brothers will have your gonads.

So...you have been warned. Good luck.

Very true to all, listen and learn to his advice!!
  16. Safe Thailand has definitely ended. No one seems to have any answers as to why Thai people have become so violent, especially to tourists and farangs. Thai friends say 'thai on thai' crime hasn't changed, we just didn't know about it. They say what has changed is that Thais are no longer scared to attack a farang/tourist. Unfortunately this will dent tourism figues.

  17. Muslim multi-culturalistic violence is infiltrating all corners of the world. If you listen to their preachers, their message is domination, and utter disrespect for anyone non-muslim be they Christian Buddhist or other. So these kinds of muslim violence outside schools could well be on the increase all over the world unless governments and police get serious.
