  1. He just wanted to get into the papers again so checked in, realised he did not get the publicity so got himself kicked out. Sad tale of someone dying to be famous. Hope he hurry's up and meets his destiny soon to avoid further pain and anguish to his family; they will get over bereavement a lot quicker than watching his demise.

This is the closest post of all. Look at the construction of the article. There is certainly collusion between Doherty and the rehab in question which is written about in glowing terms. No professonal rehab anywhere in the world talks about its clients - except Thailand. Thus to do so would have required Doherty's nod. I don't think he's a rock star though. He's best known for being somebody more famous' boyfriend.

  2. What's all this about - Malaysia, Eurostar etc. You're kidding of course. I rather think the Eurostar is watched as there are thousands of 'refugees' waiting to catch it in France and Belgium smile.png Whats's wrong with him catching a flight? Do you really think there is an all points bulletin out? He can I guess apply for a full passport. It takes 4-6 weeks to arrive. The Embassy has previously issued passports to people on bail. As for those who believe that the Ministry of Education, the school, or rich parents step in to help - we'll don't bet on it.

If you had been reading the thread it has been said he skipped out of the UK after a name change you think he can just walk through customs?

You really think BKK Embassy will not be aware of whats going on here and will issue either an ETD or replacement PP! He will have to get the ETD from another country.

'The Embassy has previously issued passports to people on bail'

I am going to say this is total BS because I know people that have tried BUT will gladly post a apology IF you can prove what you are saying....

No apology needed. I am not going to argue the point. Just say it is so. They won't issue passports though if the crime liaison officer has a beef.. Hope you don't know too many people who tried to get out while on bail?

  3. Our local consular offices can issue emergency travel documents, but you should be aware that background and identity checks will still need to be carried out before we can issue such a document and this may take time.

do you honestly think they will give him one if he has skipped bail ?

meanwhile i have already alerted a friend of mine who is in the UK Foreign Office about this guy

so tommorow if he tries what you suggest i think he will have a nasty shockwhistling.gif

OK follow me on this as it seems you are one of the rare ones that has half an idea whats going on here.

If he applies for an ETD in BKK they will do a background check with Thai immigrations and oh look he is on the hit list so no ETD. Skip over to Malaysia and any background checks will come up clean FOR MALAYSIA so an ETD can be issued.

Personally I LOATH this little fat bald runt and what he has done is disgusting BUT where I come from regardless you don't grass BUT if someone was to inform the FCO in the UK then quite possibly his world will fall apart. Only problem is time difference by the time the UK FCO opens he could well be on a flight.......

Now if it was me and I was also wanted back in the UK I would possibly make one of the en-route stops France, then jump the Eurostar walking through Waterloo with the ETD no chance of him getting stopped

  4. no he certainly won't now. not in Malaysia or anywhere !

My friend at the Foreign Office (who is very senior in rank ) has said she is sending an urgent priority 1 bulletin today to all UK offices

and embassies to be prepared for this person in case he should he happen to walk through their

    door........

he can run be cant hide tongue.png

Karma is one very beautiful person.........

Foreign office' urgent priority messages' are usually binned in my experience unless its accompanied by a message saying the 'Hardship Allowance' has been raised. Its against work policy. Comes under 'over-assisting'. biggrin.png

under normal circumstances perhaps but this time this case

has generated so much empathy with the victim and such disgust

regarding the alleged perpetrator that i have been assured these bulletins

were accompanied by a special ( and personal ) request to sellotape the message

to be displayed in a very prominent location at all missions wink.png

I am afraid your assurance were in vain. There is still an appeal for Maddy McCann at the Embassy but no watch our for Mr. Tinsley.

All that is require for an ETD is a police report stating you have lost your passport (You do not have to tell police where, why, etc) and proof that you had a passport before (photocopy will do) and 75 quid. Same day service. Get to the Embassy before 11 am and tell them you need a flight immediately, Its tried and trusted by crooks. Front desk staff are mostly Thai. They do not read the Pattaya enlgish language newspapers, well few people do. Brits dont like too much contact. But there is a Thai woman in the gatehouse who is very inquisite.

'Have you got a police report?

    'Yes'

    Well I'm going through.

"Let me see you police report!"

"You don't believe me. Am I going to lie about that?'

    'Show me your police report'.

(And that was the Deputy Head of Mission I believe)

  7. Sorry for missing all this.

He definitely has NOT got bail.

He is still on remand & will remain so until trial.

Someone on Andrew Drummond's site reckoned Tinsley was drinking in his bar the other night. Is this a mistake or someone taking the mick out of AD?

Dont think it was a wind up. Tinsley spoke to Andrew Drummond today. Did not say how tall he was though.

  8. Music to my ears. Been waiting for the cards to fall down on these thugs. Once one crew gets done, they get sqeezed a little, then start rolling over on all the other crews. " Let it roll baby roll ". Nothing better than getting rid of this filth out of our society. clap2.gif

I would not be so confident. Are they wearing surgical masks (1) because there is an outbreak of something at the police station ? Or is it because (2) they are coming back on the next plane. I may have been a bit prematurely optimistic myself. But looks more like opportunitism from where I am standing.

I think that they are wearing masks to hide their identities as they have not admitted to any crime and therefore are, wait for it as I know it is hard to believe, they are innocent until proven guilty.

Even if they do get turned loose by Thai authorities [which I doubt ] they will be picked up by other, international authorities, such as FBI, AFP, NZPol etc etc which I know are now and have been for some 12 months now working alongside Thai authorities, at the request of several foriegn governments, in a special taskforce set up to takedown these gangs in Thailand.

There was a time when these gangs operated here without having to worry too much about being dusted up by Thai authorities but that has changed. So all that are out there doing just this should rightfully be pissing their pants right now. As IMO this is just the beginning. Busting these thugs is like peeling an onion. Once you get the first layer off the others just keep coming.

You may be reading too much into this. Foreign agencies have been saying for years they are going to do something about this. There is a task force but I doubt this was done by the task force. This is the third raid and only 'account openers and loaders' have been arrested. And have you seen them going through the courts? This may just be a shakedown. They have been to at least one bosses apartment tho.

  10. The "magic potion" con has been going on for sometime, although it is not usually referred to as "magic," but rather a technological advance which has been stolen from the US treasury. The stories change, but still, it works against someone who is willing to cheat the US government.

The other one, depending on how it is presented, can be taken to be a legitimate investment. There are investments which can return those figures, albeit being very risky. Some commodities, for example, have that potential, although they have the potential to lose 65% as well. While the rises and falls of commodities are usually much less severe, they can reach higher numbers. And if the investor understands the risk, then there is nothing wrong with this.

I don't know anything about this particular case, but if the conmen were presenting legitimate, if highly speculative investment opportunities, but then keeping the money, this is a simple con, and the only "fault" of the investors would be that they may not have done enough due diligence in checking out this "company." I think some of you are being rather harsh on the investors who were duped.

None of the ventures have any hope of succeeding. That is the point. The one's that do exist are manipulated. You might even initially appear to be making money.

  11. Is this the office that was raided in Sukhummvit then?!

Sukhumvit Suites Soi 13 - a very interesting development - but they missed one one above. Not sure if there is method in their madness. Most of those arrested in earlier raids have been deported and blacklisted. (Apart from the one who died in the IDC) Any boiler room boy now faces instant blacking from Thailand (with 'barely' a court appearance at Bangkok South Criminal Court) and seems Thonglor and Lumpini and their own Immmigration men are no longer in control. But so far no bosses. As this is the third raid in four-five weeks we may assume a massive leak.

  12. Not sure about anybody else....but I think in this day and age.....people should be able to take some control and responsibility for themselves......there are reports of enough people on board, both foreign and Thai, that is was speeding and driving dangerously.....apparently people asked the driver to slow down...they were told to <deleted> basically..or get off.....Why did they not ask to get off and when the bus stopped....take the keys or prevent him from continuing in whatever way.

If he would not stop....a fire in the back seat....not really, but report it to him perhaps or any such out of the box thinking to make him stop....and they would all be alive now.

I have done this with a taxi driver a few times now before I had a car myself...also a minivan driver and another time I offered to drive because he was falling asleep....got out of a few taxis also for same reasons.

I know it is easy to say....but the people on board should take action to secure their own lives.

Look at the Chinese passengers that recently over powered and beat to death some hijackers.....all those passengers are alive now.

Roberta Norton - a British survivor - has now confirmed that her partner/boyfriend - demanded the driver slow down. Cannot provide a link I understand but you can google it or google her name with drummond.

  13. Talking with some people that have been involved in these types of operations and watching interviews with ex-scammers. The number one thing they all say is . . . OLD PEOPLE or ELDERLY RARELY FALL FOR THIS SCAM! Old people are far too cautious, ask too many questions, and are generally distrusting of anything by the phone because of all the media attention this has gotten over the years. The younger generation, 25-40 fall victim to it all the time. They all want that easy money and big returns. Not to condone any of it, but the reality is people like that easy money and will risk it all to get it. Look at all the people that lost money in the real estate collapse. . A lot of them were people that had no business in the real estate business but thought it was easy money to buy and flip houses. Oh did that Gold hand of the market slap them straight. .

TV posters always complain about the elderly getting taken and pensioners falling victim but the reality is you are WRONG!

On what do you base this?

  14. I love the way the fabricated story about the underage maid has changed from being a 14 year old to a 16 year old in the "update" and now some BREAKING NEWS, take a look at the PT article and I am now appearing as the author. I quote:

"HOWARD MILLER CRIME SUPPRESSION DIVISION, CSD 19.06.2012 02:18"

So are they implying I was behind the raid.........are they implying I was the author of the article.....Are they implying I am somehow connected to the CSD......hilarious!

Yes and what about the Penthouse which advertises here as Pattaya's 'Adult Hotel'?

  15. why no photos of the 10 foreigners that got caught ?

Excellent post Bangkoksimon. No significant photos. No significant story. No boss names. No companies named. Best they have got on the face of this story is maybe a small bunch of loaders/coolers. The boiler room bosses claim that have Thonglor and Lumpini under their control - have done for a long time.

Hark back to Thonglor Soi 23(or 25) in 2009. Many arrests. But everybody disappeared from the system. The tipster however was framed and is now in jail.

Best result here is maybe a few deportations for working w/o permit. breach of SEC regulations. Status Quo. Thonglor are not equipped to deal with this case.

The British soldier's life will not be compensated on the basis of a local investigation. I assume the British Embassy went higher though.

  16. Binnsy,

I can certainly recommend this estate agent but then i did set up the website!

Seriously though they are a very reputable firm.

In what way are they reputable - Do you have some history here?. There is nothing on the website to say who these people are, where they came from, what experience they have, or even an address.

  17. What the BTS needs to do is put up a sign near the entrance with all the things that people are not allowed to take onto the trains. And it needs to be put up in multiple languages.

Hopefully, there will still be a little bit of room to get tickets and get through the turnstyles.

Or, maybe, they just need a single sign in English: "Please obey the security guards".

There are signs doing just that - it shows six or eight items/classes of items. The signs are near the ticket machines. No mention of balloons though. One sign/picture shows and says "no flammable materials".

The issue is properly framed as one about the legitimate/illegitimate use of levels of violence.

Anyone using the argument "he broke the rules, so got what he deserved" would, I assume, have to say precisely the same thing about those shot in the 'exclusion zone" during May 2010. Well, I supposed they'd not "have" to, they could just drift obliviously into hypocrisy.

So if I'm carrying something that isn't specifically on the signs, I have a right to abuse security personnel and push may through, even after I have been told that what I'm carrying isn't allowed on the train?

Thats a new one - where is it said he abused the guards?
  18. First, we would discuss the situation with the person in question. We would try to become "friends". Unfortunately, here in Bangkok, there is often a language / culture barrier. But, it's amazing how often "reason" will work. In this case, I would have suggested that the balloons be deflated.

If it appeared that this tactic was going nowhere, and it reached a point where we didn't think we couldn't deter the individual, one-on-one, we would have already assembled what we felt would be required to do so. If the BTS security is supposed to detain/subdue people, they should have a procedure to do so. It really doesn't appear that they do.

In the bar scenario, if the subject went nuts, he would have the entire staff pinning him to the floor almost immediately. Then, he would be removed from the premises and help for the police.

In the BTS situation, Behan apparently proceeded through 4 encounters. If they needed to restrain/detain him, it shouldn't have gone beyond one. After the first encounter, I think everyone was taking it personally.

You betcha! However in that sort of situation how does one deflate a kids balloon....with a cigarette end....oh whoops. I can't do it. My kids balloons die a normal death, either popped with something, or grow saggy and expire, like we all will. Trying to untie a knot is a skilled art, higher skill than a BTS security guard.

  19. Also, people can be detained or restrained without violence. This is especially important in crowds.

Not all people ... this is reason why violence and weapon use is permitted in some cases. People can also follow simply rules and directions but it doesn't mean all do.

I don't think "violence and weapons" is a chapter in any security handbooks.

"Tactics" may be used, but they shouldn't involve violence in a crowded environment. Depending on the crowd, things can go terribly wrong. You think a bursting balloon can cause all hell to break loose?!

Using a scanner wand, as a "weapon", would be like using a wooden knife; there is no mass to them. The entire unit weighs about a pound. The fact that it was used shows a total lack of knowledge of what was needed. Smacking a person with such an implement will do little more than piss him off! It appears that was accomplished.

I think we are simply viewing the word "violence" differently. The act of legally using a club, taser, physical restraint against another is all defined as violent as in any techniques that legally causes pain to attempt to force compliance.

I also believe every security who carries any device that can be used as a weapon from bodily force, mace, club to gun should in fact be trained how to use force (violent) and again by my definition such use would be a violent act but if done under the proper procedures and circumstances would be legally justified force or violence. Same training shou."

Group 4 - BTS Training Manual

    1. Action: Farang raise voice - Reaction: Push him in chest and speak loudly in Phasa Isaan/ Huay Kwang

2.Action: Farang kick dustbin use F word - Reaction: Call four assistants - administer quick beating. Use bracelet, knuckly duster, walkie talkie, scanner - no matter

    3. In case of multiple balloons. Shout 'Hey You' and then loudly in Thai/Issan telling the passenger 'None of that'. Action:In case of balloon - allow farang one balloon and then follow Step 4..

    4. Action (supplementary/ not optional): Wait in group until farang attempt to board train, call another four more assistants for safety. As farang board train clutching balloon and child administer pack attack make whooping noises, any weapon allowable.

    5. Issue a statement of self defence and offer flowers to bereaved.

    6. Get the ticket office clerk with the American husband to complain to Thai visa about farang manners.

  20. I travel with the BTS almost daily .

If I saw someone with lots of balloons inside the train I would be worried , most of the day the trains are packed with passengers , it would cause a panic if they exploded.

I have never seen any passenger with balloons yet so this is something that the security guards know about and they will stop anyone trying to bring something that might be flammable or dangerous .

The Irish guy overreacted and he should have stayed out of trouble like the rest of us normal thinking expats.

    .

I would not be worried. ps Yes. Thaddeus he was not doubt still punching the keys as it happened, probably still is now!
  21. Has anyone explained how faking rescues is the sign of a good charity yet?

Has Fedpol concluded or even comenced an investigation and determined if they were faked or are they still only allegations? Has the AFP even considered it even warrants an investigation.

    Thanks for the non-answer reply.

Let me know when there is any proof there was a rescue and not a scam non-correct public campaign going on.

Well the Australian authorities have found no evidence of a scam (Criminal Offence) so these allegations are just <deleted>, just mud throwing on behalf of a few corrupt thais. It is done and dusted and the case closed by Fedpol no subtantial evidence that it didn't happen.

It was a Queenland Police matter. Fed Pol were just the intermediaries

  22. @ TAWP -

These are allegations of obtaining financial advantage by deception, an indictable offence in Australia and as such it is up to the prosecution to prove beyond all reasonable doubt that an offence occured. In Australia the accused does not have to prove innocence or even comment on anything. The slightest little bit of doubt and any investigation or charges will be thrown out and these allegations are riddled with doubt. So as this is an Australian issue then those accusing must prove that the rescue beyond or reasonable doubt was faked and if they can't satisfy the Australian authorities 110% then the rescue took place as stated. It is pointless disgrunted Thais shooting thier mouths off if they can't meet Australian standards, might work in a developing corrupt country but not Australia. So the resue took place and there is nothing to prove otherwise.

Interesting point SoftGeorge. The Australian Police are not investigating the alleged rescue. That has been investigated in Thailand and the findings passed on to the Australian police. TGM has yet to provide any evidence to the public of the rescue of these children and it would be difficult to provide it to the AFP or Queensland Police while the villagers, children, police and ngos deny it it - and the children remain in the village where they have always lived. In short nobody expects the Queenland Police to prosecute - too expensive dragging all the witnesses from Thailand. That was probably a shot across the bows. I suspect the real action will come from the Thai Govt later.

TGM would be better advised following the Australian pimp I came across in Pattaya recently.

  23. carra said, "The issue here is not whether Behan got a bit lippy, the issue is that he was assaulted a number of times, and from the witness statement this assault was not justified as he was not a direct threat to anyone. If anyone thinks this is acceptable behaviour to beat someone around the head because of a minor argument they need to have a long hard look at themselves. In fact deep down they probably already know this but are now too entrenched in their defence of everything Thai they have developed the Thainess of losing face disease which stops them from now backing away from their stance and starting to talk some sense on this matter. "

You're quie right carra, it's not about Behan becoming a bit 'lippy'. It's about Behan wanting to take balloons onto the train against specific instructions not to do so, and the subsequent action required by guards to prevent him doing so. It's as simple as that.

If the witnesses were anything like you, against authority in any form, of course they'd 'colour' their statements to favour the guard.

You don't know, and can't say, that he wasn't a direct threat to anyone (apart from himself, it appears!!) because at the time the gas in the balloons was not determined, and it's not the guard's job to make that determination.

I'm yet to see the full CCTV footage showing what Behan did before and after the short 'phone video. When we've seen that, then let's form an opinion. Until then, the facts are that Behan acted against specific instructions, and became violent. Guards used limited force to prevent him traveling with balloons.

I do believe you've got it F4Corsair. For the last two weeks you have been giving us your very slanted opinion and now you realise you have nothing to base in on, as you were not there and have not spoken to any witnesses, and have misinterpreted a video which was actually presented by a Thai national who was horrified at what happened to the teacher. I love this 'Road to Damascus' conversion.

Now will Nisa see the light without boring us with 'balloon signs' and taking stories from another site and totally misinterpreting them.

I have just come back on this site. Much more worrying than the actions of the teacher are the activities or bored foreigners in Thailand craving an audience for their opinions on almost anything and believing we care. Its an old story. Move on. The presentation of the CCTV video will not help any party in this matter but I can confirm it shows a premeditated ambush on the teacher concerned as he tried to board a train and that would be enough in any country to have the guards removed. Correct action was taken. The company can sue me if I am wrong.

  24. . For my money I don't think men, especially para military men who don't speak Thai and the other dialects should have anything to do with telling Asian women what to do or not do with their bodies or lives.

They are not and you seem to have a hard time understanding....they deal with underage child sex.

Google Image Grey Man Rescue. The images were provided by Grey Man. Do they look like children to you?

Would you like to put a link as to where you found these images?????

The images have been on the Grey Man Facebook page which has been up and down like a yo yo.
