Oh well some of the best bacon in Thialand can be bought in Nong Kia
Where's that Ray?
Not to far from the trian station, an American guy ha taught his wife how to smoke bacon and ham. I have to to my 90 day report in this month in Nong Kia. If you want we can meet at immigration adn I'll take you there.
Yep Ozzi Nong Kia
Ray,
I use the same American guy for my bacon and cold ham, you had better call him first to order. He was sold out last week. If you need his phone number PM me and I will give it to you.
Lastly, are you sure the Udon Immigration Office is closing. I stay on the Nong Khai road outside Udon. I reported to Nong Khai for my 90 days last week and I was told I could report to either Udon or Nong Khai. No mention of Udon closing last week.
Wee Jimmy.
Yes it's closed

Foreigners travelling from Cambodia to Thailand through Khlong Luek border pass cannot obtain visa on arrival at this point of entry.
-
Where did you read that, Otto? If it's true, that would be unfortunate indeed. ...
I read it here http://www.pattaya.de/reise.htm

The officers at the Nong Khai -Vientiane border are some of the friendliest bunch I've ever seen.
Lao visa on arrival is 30 dollars or its THB equivalent. As its name suggests, you can buy it once you get to the border.
I read today, that the Lao visa on arrival is not possible since this month. The roules are changed.

First of all, hello to everybody, this is my first post here.
I am a 32yo software developer, Italian. I am considering thailand for a stay of 2-3 years. I write software (games) and sell it on the internet so it really doesn't matter where I live.
What would it be the best approach to Thailand in my situation? I don't own a company I am just an individual (of course I would pay taxes in the country where I am living in).
Is there any sum of money I should move to Thailand to get a VISA? Is it related to education levels (I've just the high school diploma)? Any other obvious catch-me around?
I will have a long read through the forum meanwhile.. I hope I am not asking "too common" questions..
I think if get a multiple tourist visa you can stay for the first year. Then you have to search for a house or apartement for rent that a DSL connection will be possible and for what you want to pay tax? Who control what you sell or buy over the internet? No IP to show with anonymiser.
