Under a recent development yesterday SHA+ hotels in Phuket will be participating in Test & Go but the process is not clear yet.

It may be possible they use the existing process with ThailandPSAS, and arranging your own SHA+ transport.

However in other regions where they will expand the Sandbox this may not be the same process, and all-inclusive packages may be required.

Unfortunately things are still unclear regarding SHA+ only stay, and seem to change every day.

We were informed by the end of next week this will be all sorted out.

So what should I do if the visa requires me to book a hotel in Phuket? I fly on the 16th and don't know if I will have time to get the visa and Thai pass in time. So I would like to apply for my visa now.

Its the PCR tests that are costly...  Approx 3500 to 5500 baht depending on whatever the ‘paired’ hospital charges the hotel.

Thus: for a 6000 baht a night AQ Room

+/- 4000 baht for PCR test

+/- 700 baht for SHA+ transport from the hotel

    +/- 300 baht for meals

    >> the hotel is making 1000 baht for the room for the night...

Figures are estimated, but when its broken down we see that its not the hotels which are ripping people off but the hospitals.

In the UK I can get a PCR test for £35 (1600 baht).

In Canada they charge us $200+ for a PCR test (5400baht), so 4000baht isn't a rip-off in comparison. Your 1600baht is a steal!

We just got an update that said that the existing sandbox regions (Phuket, Phang Nga, Krabi and Suratthani), will not be participating in the Test & Go entry option.

This means that if you wish to enter Thailand under the newly announced 1 Day Test & Go option it must be through Bangkok, or Pattaya.

So if your intention is to travel to Thailand soon we advise booking an AQ through Bangkok, and Pattaya.

I have my flight already to Phuket Nov 18 and have been waiting for the hotels to be released so that I can book a 1 night stay for my Visa. RoyalVacationsDMC shows 1 day stay hotels in Phuket (but they are expensive). What should I do?

I realize this topic is a year old, but I am too interested in importing LiFePo batteries.

I bought some small LiIon *less than $10 USD value) through Aliexpress, but now am looking to buy 30 of the bigger LiFePo4 batteries.

I am not worried about customs duty, etc, but I wonder if I need any special import permits, etc ?

Did the OP have had any luck with his import ?

    Many Thanks,

    luudee

No sorry I never went through with it to Thailand. I did come back to Canada and ordered lifepo4 cells from "Shenzhen Basen" on Alibaba. Great service and they included duties etc in the shipping. When I return to Thailand in November I will be ordering from them again and ask to ship direct to Ranong.

If you do order please let me know how it works out for you! I'd be curious to hear. Good luck!

  5. Has anyone imported lithium batteries into Thailand before? Specifically from the US. I found a good supplier for my solar set-up that can ship to Thailand via DHL but I want to know what I'd be up against actually trying to get them into the country. ie. Duties/fees etc

    Thanks

  6. Hi there, I am a regular tourist, every year spending time on an island down south that I've been building a house on... nothing major, but a hobby nonetheless.

Unable to find a distributor in Thailand, I'd like to import an LPG refrigerator and freezer from China. I found the supplier... and have the HS code for Duty. I spoke to the customs office and they confirmed that under the HS code 8418.29.00 if I can provide form E, because of a free trade agreement with China, Duty is 0%, but I have to pay 7% VAT. No problem.

But how do I make all this happen? Where do I find a broker that will help arrange the customs paperwork and hopefully can help me forward the applicances down south from Bangkok upon their arrival?

    Thanks for any input.

  7. I am building a house on an island with no electricity and am looking for a hot water heater for the shower. I am surprised to find that they aren't easy to come by in the South (Ranong). Where can I find one in Bangkok? I have looked in a few places but all I find are electric. Thanks!
