It can be obtained in Canadian consulate in Chiang Mai or Canadian embassy in Bangkok only.
I recommend checking out " legally married in Thailand" website or best talk with them, as are they are real experts.

I good girl. I want Farang husband but he better be willing to pay dowry like my last 2 husbands did and make it more than those bums.
That is how I read that.

If it is a company the assets are owned by the shareholders and the fate o the company and assets are up to the shareholders.
That is who the properties name must be in. .
If the lawyer set it up he probably used nominees names and they can be under his control. So hope he is nice and do not piss him off.
Best to work with the wife if you want to stick your nose in and protect the children's future.
Maybe he should have planned this better.
Most expats are trouble estate managers. Too many die with no will or plan for their death. Which comes to us all.
Sadly I have had to help clear too many of these estate matters up for people I knew.

Ouch .. the freedom of the any hope of a honest free press in Thailand just got told it will have a lethal kick to the groin, starting as of March 21 this year. Under the new rules any negative news would be a violation of one's media visa terms.

I think you would be better off finding a existing real company to work for part time and get them to get you a work permit.
It would not open up to outside work but when you find a business venture that justifies the expense to have a real company then set one up.As a global nomad you should not really need a work permit as you would have little do do with Thai economy so should be invisible here work wise.. You may want the extended stay that may better be done by being hired as a expert in a real company but with the agreed understanding of very limited hours in exchange for your expertise and taxes work permit and easier visa.
This will also help mentor you in the Thai work world, as you say you may want to work non virtually it would be a eye opener, and for sure a safer way to learn and work here.

So, what would be the issue, if your genuinely married
Some wives have a day job too.

I think is better to get some else to do it for you.
Please note not all registrar offices will now do Thai and Farang registrations like in the last month only one was done in Chiang Mai amphur and they had arranged it over a month ago. This is because new policy change, now the chief officer "balad" must do it not just the regular registrar that does Thai couples. and in larger amphurs they do not have the time or want the hassles to do this job. As they are suppose to physically check that the couple is a "Genuine married couple" (not sure this means video in the bedroom must be supplied or what). This is because thousand of fate marriage between Thai women and south Asian men where found out to be registered without the wife's knowledge or where the "wife" was just paid to get married for a visa.
I recommend you contact Somchit of "Legally Married in Thailand" they might give you a deal on just the paperwork translation and shipping.

Sadly the world will judge the present success and future of Thailand's economics and no matter the BOT tries to do. The open market will in the end set the real rates after the rich Thais have taken their profits form this desire to "manage the Baht".
We really know the real direction of the baht with only 3 billion US to try to "stabilize" a currency in a shrinking economy with per capital debt at historical heights.
Good luck traders

Does anyone else think it is strange that the TAT doesn't encourage cleanliness or even think of mentioning it, yet a ministry of health has to tell people what tourist want?

One of the reasons my child will never attend a
Thai school, and is in fact headed to America....
This teacher is insane.
The real question is have they learned what they need to achieve their full potential. Then again even if your children wanted to go to university in Thailand they could not. Maybe dealing with people who are strange is part of ones life lesson without thinking they are insane. I hope your decision to send your child to America to be the half cast Asian, where your child of course will be welcome with open arms by the fellow students of all races Did you choose Rice, SMSU or Morehead State or other fine school but avoid schools like CUNY city college there are too many Asians there to be good. . . Your so proud of your decision are you sure your eyes are wide open..hopefully not like a deer in the headlights. Blinded by your good intentions.

For western men it might happen in a thousand years. Oneday. Just tell me the percentage of women in banking and the percentage in senior management in the west. Stop believing the lies of the westerner media women are not treated equally in the west either. The glass ceiling is there and staying there

So none of you have seen the old officially approved maps from Germany of Chiang Mai with the past proposed subway system complete with station marked where proposed?
Beat the heck out of an eye sore raise light rail system. But The city is too short sighted for either unless is offered with great kick back for all concerned. I think the west has learned their lesson on that one. NO feebies and also kick backs for being allowed to build at a loss.

Sorry BluePunk and anyone who thinks this is really about the environmental safety is being duped . Farangs say Thais are the one that do not think the end game, wake up farangs you seem to be more easily bamboozled than a rice farmers daughter.
It is about the huge profits that can be made when the richer people can control an industry as a whole. Think who controls the waste in New York city and why? Even our last prime minister had a so called recycling project for Chiang Mai garbage in order to make a profit. It certainly was not concerned with safety laws as was located from the start to close legally, to a water supply but that was no problem to get a pass. It was never concerned about the law or the environment it had to do with government contracts and haulage costs. Fang is further than Doi Saket from Chiang Mai and rates in the future where to be paid with time.
So just maybe it has to do with who gets the profits when the 240 legal companies are closed that even declare they make 50 million in profits a year well if you control the whole market with extra government funding because "your friends" have now ruled producers are responsible for their end waste. Can we say a monopoly there the sky is the limit.

Good to see so many people here are worried about Thai workers being exploited or taken advantage of by the Thai Department of Labour or it is better they stay home and their sister's farang husbands supporting them?
The world is a hard place if your have to earn a living by manual labour, thank God for sisters in Thailand or Finland !

Do all the poor Farang TV members feel better now they can be self-righteous and condescending about a rich Thai Family?
If it was an expat it would be no news here...to be happy about.

Perhaps issues like this should be tried in a military court instead.
Redistributing the wealth is always a good Idea.
The military have done such a good job with the jet boats rental agents and other unlawful people in beach areas. Did nobody on TV forum see his speech where he even mentioned that the jet boat operates too must think of ways to help tourism in this hard economic times.

what crime dod he actually do?If somebody is so stupid and sends money to a stranger because he he says so then whats the crime?
I believe it is called obtaining money by deception.
I thought that if "obtaining money by deception" is illegal, there would not be enough bar workers left to open many bars in Thailand. Then where would take the mom's prize water buffalo to the vets? Not to mention the many karaoke bar owners and some police officers might be behind bars too.

It makes me wonder who made the initial complaint about the wording choose which may be less than perfect but he was trying to take charge and get the information he wanted and needed. Big brother watches us all. As we watch the new CCTV system designed to watch people not traffic being installed in Chaing Mai.

Sorry. Some times government final approval does takes years if you do not offer bribes so do not be so judgmental if you do not known when he applied. Maybe when and if you have experience with government licensing agencies you will find out that sometimes you must be in operation before they will even provide a final license, as demanding to see in operation to finalize the process.
Lets use your expat brains and wonder why Nipon Chotibal why might nicely have stated they are in the process of applying.
You bitch they corrupt and then if they are not willing to grease palms, then you scram they are illegal and full of arrogance . You do not always get to be right just because you want to be.

Teach them how to get along in the society and to relate to others and hopefully they will fit in no matter there genetic mix. Thai students in the Thai school system are normally more tolerant and the international school kids but will depend on the school and students. That is just our experience.

Interesting, so you can go to Thailand, meet a girl and fall in love. Part two could be interesting, part three could be the horror story !
As expect comment from the romantics of TV.

Thai Tourism: "Half of foreigners" don't pay their hospital bills; director points finger at three nationalities

Glad the Thai government charges visa fees for non Chinese visitor so they can dip into that fund to cover the fee jumpers.
As well as the 25% over asian fees legal to charge for white people, is that not enough to cover the bill runners?
Or is it just the insurance companies have found a new profitable market niche if their friend in government make a new law?
Is it Time to invest in Thai insurance stocks or get out of the tourism business. Why are the foreigners long term visitors here not paying to insure all Thai companies stay rich in these trying times in Thailand.
