You should stay at Pong Pen Guesthouse! Nice resort in the middle of everything with a Swimmingpool and all the staff there are very nice.

The rooms start from 200 up! They have a nice restaurant with very good "falang food" and their thai food is very good to!! I bring a lot off freinds there and all off them haved loved!!!!

My wifes daughter who is 16 and mattyum 5 student goes out every saturday I think she goes drinking all night for many times she doesnot come home till late sunday night and goes durectly to her room no talking nothing. The wife says there is nothing she can do. Wife says if she tries to stop her the daughter will leave home.and not come back. Last weekend she left the house 3 in the afternoon on saturday came home 11 pm sunday. Wife can do nothing so what can the police do the same nothing.

Very easy to solve.

You tell the wife either her daughter stops doing this, moves elsewhere, or you will move elsewhere.

Up to you as head of the household to enforce your rules.

Better the kid gone, than you having to put up with this.

I wouldn't hesitate to issue such an ultimatum to my family.

I think bringing on the rest of these chains will result in a nation of fatties like the US. Old hands here in Thailand say there were few overweight Thais 12-15 years ago before American fast food arrived. The social costs will be very high with all the health costs of caring for an overweight population.

This is already getting to be "a nation of fatties." Lays and other bad-for-you snacks, and all the sweet drinks at 7-11 have taken over Mom's home-cooking. The ubiquitous donut shops also contribute to the largeness of today's Thais.

It comes down to education, and learning what to eat, and more importantly when to let up on that what's not so healthy. There's no money in public service announcements, though (other than long-range health benefits), so the sugar and fat cartels have their way.

Thais will continue to fatten up whether Denny's, I-Hop and others arrive or not.
