  1. 'My wifeThi national, served time in a Thai prison for drug dealing. We have been together for 15 years apart from when she was banged up.

Anyway, now that she is free, we want to go and live in the UK and apply for settlement will this affect her appliction?

I should add that I have also served time in the UK, Holland and Serbia. So, will this affect my ability to sponsor her?

Aside, we have plenty of money and property in UK, Thailand and Spain BUT no jobs in both Thaland or the UK (neither of us are really into day jobs)

    Thanks, Mark

  2. Good, no sympathy at all.

These people know the score and if they get away with it, fine, they get paid for the job and continue on to the next time. If they are tumbled and meet a traumatic end, than it must be considered as an occupational hazard.

    bakse

bakseedaa.... I dont believe many of us have sympathy for drug traffickers no matter what their personal situation... More to the point however is think of the greater harm that these people do...there can be no individual justification for drug trafficking otherwise we enter into a whole new era.... feel sorry for the girl and her plight yes.... want to see her treated in a different way...NO.

He is 100% right,u are wrong and a doggoder. The country has the death penaly, she was peddling drugs, she will be killed nothing more to say, good riddance to drug peddlers.I am desperate for cash but would i peddle drugs in a country that gives the death penalty,of course not.The gut who spoke the truth is an horrible person and u say the drugs smuggler was desperate,u are the bad person

Just out of interest, Gentlemen, lets assume for a moment that the person you love the most in the world has cancer. That could be your wife, your daughter, your mother, the ladyboy you wipe yourself on each night, whoever.

Lets assume that you truely love this person.

Lets also assume that you are piss poor broke. You earn 200 quid a month and there is no money for the mastectomy, the chemo, the radiotherapy.

Now, I offer you a 50/5- splt on the 700 grammes of coke. We can cut it and sell it in BKK and pull back 3 million.Lets take out a million in costs. So, we

    have 1 million each.

That 1 mill will pay for all the above - just.

Now, would you take tht chance to potential save the life of the person you love?

I personally would, if that was my only choice, but I'm just interested on where you stand. And no, she can't make the 1 mill on her back.

  3. Hello

    question for a friend:

He's married to a Thai national, financially secure with a Thai property (and yellow book). He has a non imm O visa with a one year extension.

Anyway, hes bored and wants to get a job teaching or something similar.

Will he have to give up the visa linked to his wife to get a work permit? He is concerned that he'll get a job, then be subjected to the kind of shit TEFL teachers often take. Of course, he'd vote with his feet and leave BUT is concerned then about visa status.

Any ideas what his best options would be? He wants to work legally but not be so tied in.

    Thanks

    Mark

  4. ..ever heard of 'stealing by finding'..it's not your property, so why wouldn't you hand it in to the Police and get a receipt, chances are you can claim it after three months if the owner doesn't come forward..let your conscience be your guide.

Why wouldn't you hand it in to Thai police ??

    Are you serious ?

Or, rather, let common sense be your guide and understand your surroundings and be able to appreciate the the Rozzers are not of the same cloth as the Rozzers in jolly old England.

  6. Easy - put a sign in the window saying 6,000 baht found - when the person comes in going spastic saying it was 60k then you have your man, Otherwise, maintain your karma - there are a lot of poor in Isaan, help someone who really needs it.

Do you know any good temple/monk/ajarn making nice & powerful sak yant

You might also want to look at the Wat Bang Phra http://en.wikipedia....i/Wat_Bang_Phra it is done in the temple and by a monk if you want a real powerful sak yant and this is not expensive just have to make an offering to the monk smokes and some money to the temple

I didnt thing there were actually any educated westerners who believed that colouring ones self with indian ink would actually protect you from the bogy man or indeed have you dancing like a monkey.

Just one thing, monk's shouldn;t smoke - its impure. Wouldnt that reduce the power of your really powerful magic spell.

Aside, try ajarn noo AKA (to most Thais) ajarn mickey mouse - he's hook you up for a few shakles and you'll be dodging bullets in no time.

  8. HSBC will open an account, if you are premier then they'll add a joing account to your portfolio.

As for electoral role, well, my wife obviously cant vote as she is no a Brit yet. However, she is on the electoral role - or so the council told me - as she pays the council tax on our house. I have verified this through 192people as strange as it appears.

Perhaps the electoral role is used for more than just voting, IE police checks if you are stopped to ascertain abode etc. She has also been given store cards and the retailers have said they check the electoral role to ascertain proof of address and that the applicant isnt of no fixed abode.

Perhaps there are differing elements to the ER?
