  1. If I were you, I'd contact the Thai Citizenship group on FB. They'll supply all the info you need.
  2. That's interesting, thank you. As always, Thai bureaucracy moves in mysterious ways...
  3. Yes, good point. I hadn't thought of that. The more information we get from emerging successful candidates from now on, the more we might learn.
  4. Yes, I realise this. My point is that before Marcati mentioned that he needed to produce his WP at the oath ceremony, the majority of people had confirmed (as you yourself mentioned) that they didn't need to show their WP at the DOPA interview or after. If showing a WP at the oath ceremony is now the standard official requirement, this significantly alters the amount of time that I need to maintain my WP, regardless of when my files were submitted to the MOI. Before Marcati's post about the oath ceremony, I made a post here asking other people when they last had to show their WP and at least one guy replied that it was early on and he was nervous when he had his MOI interview as he no longer had a WP (he got away with it, fortunately). Therefore, I'm very keen to find out when other successful candidates were required to show their WPs in order to get a better understanding of whether Marcati's situation was an exception or the new rule. If any posters gain citizenship this year or next, I'd be really interested to know as it drastically changes the timeline.
  5. I applied on the basis of marriage. SB interview April 2023, NIA interview August 2023, SB sent the documents to DOPA October 2023.
  6. Yes, I remember reading (with horror, given my circumstances) earlier on that someone (didn't realise it was Marcati) was asked for their WP at the oath ceremony. I'd be really interested in hearing if any others who've recently gone through the process had to produce a WP in the later stages.
  7. Congratulations! Can I please ask when was the last time in the process that you needed to show your work permit? I'm hoping to retire in a couple of years... Thanks!
  8. Do you happen to know how to find out which health center serves your area?
  9. There's a Thai Citizenship Group on Facebook
  10. My papers have gone back to SB following my NIA interview and will be forwarded to MOI this month apparently...
  11. It certainly does. Very helpful, as always!
  12. Thanks for this information. If I retire before my MOI interview, does it significantly affect my chances of gaining citizenship? What about after the MOI interview but before the documents are issued? It's going to be close to the wire for me...
  13. Hmmm...doesn't seem fair that these are in circulation/being given "to practice". During my interview/test I was just asked to choose 1, 2 or 3 - I chose 1 (exactly the same as above) and scored 9/10 (to my surprise - thought I'd get more wrong).
  14. Thanks very much for clarifying this.
  15. Could someone please explain this as I don't understand? If I'm granted Thai citizenship, I presumed that this would then be used on my Thai ID card (I'm British) when I apply for it. I don't get the "use it or lose it" bit.
  16. I got this sorted btw. I need a letter from the school in Thailand where I sat the exam & then I'll take this, with the certificate + translation, to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
  17. I had my interview and tests at Special Branch and now need to contact the British Embassy Consular Section to get the letter and certify my passport (should be quite straightforward as they provide both services in the same pack & I can post everything off - SB gave me a couple of sealed envelopes ???? to send off too). They also asked me to get my old Thai Language O Level certificate certified. However, from my enquiries it seems that the embassy don't do this. Any ideas where would be a good place to get the certificate certified (I've already got it translated)? Thanks!
  18. Yes, it's in Bkk. Thanks for the info.
  19. Thanks - that's very useful. Yes, I realise that the same questions must have been answered before but it's such a long thread. Can I also ask whether there will be a Thai language test and a Thai Civics (general knowledge questions about Thailand) test during my SB interview?
  20. Apologies if this has already been discussed. I have my SB interview next week. Can anyone please advise how to prepare and what to expect? I'm wondering whether to wear a suit or just smart work clothes, what kind of questions will be asked, etc. Any info or advice would be greatly appreciated. TIA!
  21. Thanks everyone for the updates. I've read the last few pages and it now seems that the 'no criminal record' and 'certificate of legal age' documents are no longer needed. Can anyone provide me with (a link to) an updated list of documents/requirements needed in order to apply for citizenship? My wife went to SB at Police Headquarters (Rama I) today and was told that they no longer handle applications. Any update yet on where the documents need to be submitted? TIA!
