  1. Have travelled a lot to and around TL with my clubs. I put my clubs and bag in a protective travel bag called the Turtle II. Works great and just check it as my baggage allowance. Never had to pay extra.

  2. To the OP: I have the same question as you regarding Tom/Dees. Udon Thani seems to have become the Tom/Dee capital of Issan. See more Tom/Dee couples than hetero couples when out at night. And most of the Dees are quite attractive, while their Toms are fat bull pugs. Don't understand the Dees attraction to these repugnant Toms. Who knows?

  3. My wife cycles through goals and objectives like she changes clothes. I've learned to not react and just wait until I've been hearing the same thing over a fair period of time. Even then, I give her a 10% chance of following through. To generalize, I find Thais loose interest as soon as something isn't fun or easy anymore. Again, a generalization.

  4. Wondering if the article is similiar to an article that came out yesterday in the Singapore straits. Talk about a booming northeast region.. maybe in the future possibly but unless im wrong thailand in general is still a export driven economy. A article that came out a few months ago asked thai's why they did not go back to work in the northeast they said no high paying jobs like bangkok.

Yes I agree. Where is the disposable income to keep driving Udon forward coming from. I say with deference to people who have been at the weekend like 'farangme'. I will go one Saturday keep meaning to go to the horse racing.

Big money coming from Lao elite. Our housing estate has lots of them. Also, just look at the number of luxury cars with Lao plates. On weekends, Central turns into Little Vientianne.

  5. I don't understand why this would be a particularly negative thing to have happen.

When I think of the garden, I think of it as needing fertilizer.

Also that cat might keep the rodents at bay.

    And maybe some snakes, too.

Cat pop is not fertilizer. It can contain infectious diseases that can be transmitted to humans.

  6. I agree that many of the places are quiet midweek. But I intentionally avoid shopping and entertainment on weekends because the places are too crowded. Seems all of Issan, and Laos, converges on Udon on the weekend.

  7. Couple suggestions:

    - keep the dirt wet. Cats don't like walking on wet grass or digging in wet soil.

    - cover dirt areas with riverbed size rocks so they can't dig.

    - lay chicken wire over areas they use. Don't like walking on it.

    - feed them as others have suggested. In general, they don't poop where they eat.

    - Have some kids, they don't like the noise children make.

    - get your own cat and teach it to use a litter box and get it fixed. Won't stray and it won't poop in the garden and will keep other cats away.

  8. Take up golf?  For sure some of the caddies are single and interested, of course some are right horrors so it might take some time to connect, and perhaps not the cheapest option either.

Tell the caddy master you'd like an attractive single caddy, or whatever your criteria is. They will likely accommodate you. You'll have 4+ hours with a captive young lass there to serve you? By the end of the round, should know all about each other. If I was still single, I'd certainly pursue this route. Lots of cute caddies out there and their English is often decent.
