To answer your question.
Yes I have the right to intervene as I have a lot of respect for my GF and that will luckily flow towards her family. I have met her sister kids and their great and was impressed at least with the eldest that wanted to speak English with me.
I don't mine the money as its no problem for me but I would like my GF sister that struggles with money that wants the best for her kids and to get what she is paying for!
Who do you think pays the bills? I am in the privileged position to do so! Although my GF still wants to pay her way which I encourage! As she is my GF not my wife!
I have been here long enough to know the story in Thailand and maybe I am one in million but Thailand has been good to me!
It's ironic that someone complaining about bad English Teachers, who they haven't even met, has such bad English himself. The number of incomplete sentences and sentence fragments above is high. Let's hope you aren't teaching your girlfriend's sister's kids or you'll be complaining about yourself.

Never shop at the store that rhymes with "bee on darnit"

In the next two years I think we'll see a lot of traffic moving towards the East near the super highway with Central Festival and the Promenade opening. Airport plaza and KSK will see a drop off. Though there will still be tons of people wanting to head up to Doi Suthep during bank holidays and the high season.

Try designfugu dot com. There's a portfolio on the site. Ask for Ben who's based in CM.

They are for hire. I think they are 40 Baht an hour, including a bottle of water. They're not the best quality, but they'll get you round. Just check the brakes before you go as there are a couple of steep bits.

Try TCA over near Wat Jed Yod.
Search "tca Chiang Mai" in Google and it will give you a map and pics of the bikes they rent out. They've got good road and mountain bikes for rent. Not sure on the prices though.
Good luck

Drive! 8-9 hours door to door, Cm to Nong Khai. Nice scenery too!
I prefer Route 11 to Uttaradit then through Nakorn Thai to Dan Sai then towards Loei but shortcut to Wang Sapungthen to Nong Bua Lam Phoo to Udon Thani then up to Nong Khai. Can't remember the road numbers off the top of my head.
I did it two weeks ago and the roads are in good condition. The stretch between Nong Bua Lamphoo is a pain as it's only single a carridge way and it hard to overtake. I left a 4:30pm from Nong Khai and arrived in Chiang Mai with a half hour break, so 8 hrs driving time. I don't do more than 120kph either.

As I understand it the documents are different for teachers. I am picking up my work permit tomorrow and then heading to immigration to extend for another year. I just wanted to clarify what immigration will want to see. I'm in Chiang Mai.
Cheers

When the TEFL was run at the LI it was described as CMU accredited. That's no longer the case. You don't rent office space and have a Ministry of Education licensed school the following week. School licenses are difficult to obtain and requirements are strict and include such things as an engineer's building report. The whole process takes 18 - 24 months. Possibly, to support their claim, someone from UniTEFL can post their school licence number and the MoE area office they are registered with. This isn't off topic as it affects UniTEFL students who signed up for a CMULI program (Austeyr's post #130).
Loaded,
It's plain for anyone to see that you have some kind of axe to grind. My guess is you are a TEFL provider and you don't want any competition.
The information you have been adding to this thread has been of no benefit to the people who have been caught up in this mess.
If you don't have anything constructive to say, don't say anything at all!

.Has any TV member with more than 10 posts who has been a member since before this episode begun received any sort of refund yet?
Not I!
I know quite a few students who received refunds and I know for a fact that Dr. Matt paid airfares, overstays, and other monies from his own pocket - also I saw him at LICMU (until they kicked him out of the place, cancelled his work permit, and tried to have him arrested - all because he was fighting to get refunds out of LICMU for students!!!) giving out money to students everyday!
I'm not sure how CMU can cancel his work permit if he worked for a company named IUS?
Loaded you sure like to go head hunting even though you have nothing invested in this thread at all. Dr Kay was employed by the university to help the Language institute make much needed income as it was losing money. IUS was not a company, it was a department set up to manage international students. Dr Kay was contracted as an individual to work for LI to help them out and agreed to help setup successful programs without a salary but a profit share as the language institute didnt have the funding to set up such programs themselves. This is why all of the staff working for the programs received work permits through the university. IUS was not setup as a company until all programs were ejected out of the university and DR Kay thought he might be able to save the programs by setting up elsewhere.

Just in case anyone is interested, I went into the Ford showroom on the moat yesterday. They are launching the Fiesta this Sunday (15th) and they gave me a few details about their promotion. Top 5 door model is 699K down from 720K interest starts at 2.2% down payment from 10% up. No free insurance though.

Well, this isn't helping
Tied 9-9 for Fiesta and Jazz!

I'm in the market for a new car, but have decided against a pick-up or SUV as I mostly drive around town. I'm very interested in the new Fiesta that will be in showrooms here in Chiang Mai mid August, but there is the worry that the service centres aren't as good as Honda or Toyota and the resale value will be fairly low.
I'm interested in the 3 cars in the poll. Toyota has never done anything for me. I would buy the top of the range model of each.
If you had to pick one of these three which would you buy?
Cheers

Does anybody know if the New Fiesta back seats fold flat like the Jazz? I'm seriously considering a Fiesta after all the positive reviews and I am looking for a small economical car, but I need to transport a couple of bikes regularly, so before this I have been looking at the Jazz as it's perfect for this.

Great stuff guys!
It's not something you buy everyday, so it's good to get everyone's recommendations.
Thanks.

In the market for a new mattress, any tips on where to go and what to look for.
They had some massive savings in Homepro, but I'm not sure if that's an inflated price made to look cheaper, but is actually the regular price.
They had some discounted pocket spring mattresses from 62,000B to around 13,000B.
Any other places I should be looking?
Cheers,

someone who I'd lent my car to
u got the resources to take on the legal dept of the 5th biggest company in the world ?
Er.... Nope.
-
To cut a long story short, had someone who I'd lent my car to forge documents to transfer my car into their name (just as I had finished payments) and then sold the car. Not hopeful that I can get my car(or the money) back from them, but I feel that GE finance were culpable for signing my car over when I wasn't there. Me thinks I need some professional advice.
Anyway, any good recommendations?
Cheers

We will get an updated version later this week, and we hope that all reported bugs are fixed.
Thanks all for your input so far!
Cheers
Don't know if this has been mentioned so far, but on the forum home page under last posted info is there any chance to switch the time and post title?
I keep having to read the time and then look down at the post topic. I think it'd be easier to have it vice versa.
Cheers.
