  1. The headline of the article is typically misleading as it neglects to include the word "child" until you read the actual article. Tehrefore implying that orgnaising adult sex tours would be illegal under NZ law, which is nonesense.

Also, based purely on the way the article is written, the police used entrapment. Obviously this was not the case as I cant imagine he would have been found guilty if this were true. But nothing in the rest of the article indicates anything illegal:

eg: "creating an itinerary for him that included visiting known gay sex hotspots. The man also gave Gray an explicit phrase card that included translations such as "how much for overnight?" and "let's go to my hotel"."

--- this could all be for sex with adults! The article fails to detail sufficently what has this has specifically got to do with child prostitution.

The article could be more clear and specific on hwo this related to CHILD protitution. They also fail to mention the ages of the children we are talking about here. Are they 10 years old or 17? Quite a difference, despite both being illegal its still important to point it out as depatie the law, any 17 year has a pretty good idea of what they are doing etc.

Totally agreed with you the thread title is misleading. May be the editor is actually more afraid of scaring the child sex operator business away.

  2. Can this STUPID BUSINESS MAN actually come up with more convincing lies next time? If i were the PM, i would not have ask my own man(which is recognize and known by the victim) to beat up a STUPID MAN.

Would i? I can't believe such person with a stupid brain can become a business man. Oh wait !!! It all about corruption of tea money and lies. I see.giggle.gif

  3. It's a pointless act. Death penalty or no, there will always be a never ending supply of poor, desperate or stupid mules to carry drugs.

They should have used her to catch someone meaningful.

Yes, it always sad to see people lure into being a mule while the real scuker live on hunting for another mules for another day. Hope the government of more countries will do their best campaign to impartial the knowledge of not being used by Drug lord. Death penalty or not? I cannot comment but i have this to say to Drug lord: You are 'bas-tard', why dont you carry the drug yourself and may you die in the most horrible ways.

  4. Quoted: 'In a separate operation, police arrested Jarukit Rungrong-hiranya, the son of a well-known businessman, for having 20,000 amphetamine tablets and 100 grams of ice flake in his possession, along with two loaded handguns. He was caught delivering drugs in his BMW' Unquote.

I would love to see what will happen to such rich people. Lighter sentence? No charge because it a misunderstanding?

Can the media keep the public updated here..

  5. They should also display transparency and update of those corrupted official caught. How will the corrupted be dealt with? Just discharge them and no charges file agaisnt these corrupted officials?

No wonder it an encouragement to these offcial to adopt corrupted practice themseleve. These people should be send to prison and be part of the prisoners since they like to associate business with drug dealers inmate so much.

  6. Welcome to reality of life, may be she should ask other nationals in Thailand how THAI immigration is treating them.

Wonder how many foreigner who married a Thais actually got what they apply for. Well we all now how the systems works dont we.

However, this Brit man is also a coward, please end the relationship if you doesn't want her anymore. SHameless oldman !!

Umm he did and filed for divorce, isn't that ending the relationship?

Good that he did but some forummers mentioned it done in British which she have no idea of what happening, may be?

  7. The two of them are morally despicable, go and earn a proper living by working, this country is hard enough for the genuinely disadvantaged with the likes of these two putting people off giving to genuinely blind people.

Why didn't the Blind association or social welfare for the blind to come forward and take legal action.

That is why the crime rates are rising all the time since no action is taken toward such crooks !!

Any Thais here perhaps can raise this to the Blind organization. Confiscate their money and out them in jail for that rather than letting him gamble away money means for the unfortunates.

  8. If a Thai women's husband dies, she can remain in the country and eventually apply for citizenship. Western countries do believe in human rights and act compassionately enough to understand the bond of married is not total severed with the death of the Western spouse. The spouse usually forms bonds with the Western family and has become part of that Western society. And being a spouse of a Westerner gives that spouse a path to citizenship. That's compassion.

But here in Thailand!!! I'm here on a marriage visa. If my wife dies, I don't even get time to grieve; I don't get the time to make funeral arrangements. My first act needs to be to get my bereaved butt down to immigration because my visa is immediately null and void at the time of my wife's death -- otherwise I risk being fined and/or thrown in jail -- really compassionate of the Thai government. "You wife dead. Either put 800K baht in bank for retirement visa, find a job, or get hell out of our country farang. Thai wife dead - you go." The Thai government could give a rip about human rights or compassion.

Yes, that is sad to have them treating foreign spouse this way. Where is the compassion to the children (if any) if the dad or mum have to leave. Just like my country (cannot mentioned) which recently deported the spouse after her husband died from an accident. 3 children can stay but spouse deported. It sickening !!

  10. normal people go to jail for dealing drugs or death sentence, but police and prison guards get suspended...

Yes i agreed. Punishment for these civil servant should be more harsh since they are engage to enforce on people to abide with the law, not breaking it and benefited from them.

Also the recent Army Major and those Sergant should be dealt with harshly for allowing drugs to pass through the boundry. It seem that this route have been going on for years and are they telling the world how efficent their security check point is? Thanks to them, the country have more drug addicts, more dealers recruited, some shot dead and most of all these crooks have fatten their pockets.

Many will be waiting to see what justice systems will this governemnt do since they declare war on drugs.

Don't apply the law to punish ordinary citizens while the elites and high profile get away easily. That is disgusting to your country image.

  11. Hopefully there are more arrest to come. At least they are not shooting innocent or and drug mule that not been convicted under law as guilty.

May hope they carry out such arrest of KING PINs, distributors and suppliers in other provincial and not just Bangkok alone.

Cut off supply or at least minimize them.

Great job Nacortic Department !!thumbsup.gif Dont just stop here, go get to the root once and for all. Otherwise they are revive in no time.

  12. A life for a life.

He shoot an innocent passer by and rob her motor bike all thanks to involve in drugs.

Instead of repent, he create more sin. The only misfortune i see here is no information is obtain from this dealer to lead the Nacortic Officers to arrest more big king pin.

  13. He should be so lucky. A Thai would of got life or death for that huge quantity of drugs.

Dont convicted drug traffickers have to do the same prison stretch at home as they do in Thailand as per prison exchange laws ?

Connell has learning difficulties ? Didnt seem to be impeding his ability to pack pills into cream jars.

Just another example of going soft on poor little misguided westerners.

While he try his luck to smuggle drug into other people country, did he pity other people children that the drugs he is carrying can kill others and ruins their family lifes?

    Bullsh1t !!

I will be more sympathize on him if his parent and himself admitted he is stupid to do it and plead for leniency rather then lame excuses that he has 'learning difficulty'. i have seen his video while being lead to a bus still able to shout out to his mum not to worry about him and he will takecare of himself here(bangkok prison).

    CRAPS !!!

  14. It amazing everytime the authority round up some Huge Activities, none or loner was caught.

The Casino with plastic chips with only 1 man caught.

Now this with the guy get away and the house happen to have nobody?

It good job if this drugs are recovered before they are distributed into the street but i am sure you can do better than that (Nacortic Department) Show us you are able to caught some big time drug suppliers. Not scapegoat or small timer.

  15. 1.In the third case, police, following a tipoff from air courier DHL, uncovered 490 grams of raw opium, which could be made into heroin worth millions of baht, hidden in the soles of six women's shoes contained in a package that DHL picked up from an office in the Rama IV area. NO ARRESTS.

2.a drug bust in Pathum Thani last November in which 576,000 ya ba (speed) tablets and seven kilograms of crystal meth were seized. Police were checking to see if any state officials or politicians were involved. Surprisingly, NO ARRESTS.

3.Searching the pickup, police found 2.61 million methamphetamine pills and 102 kilogramme of ice which have street value of more than Bt1 billion.

Police were search the area and planned to use a helicopter to find the suspects.

The suspects were believed to be members of a major drug syndicate which transfered drugs from Myanmar and Laos before bringing the drugs to Thailand via the connected route between Uttaradit and Phitsanulok to avoid police NO ARRESTS.

4.212 KG of 'Ice' found at a Bangkok bus terminal. NO ARRESTS.

Police and soldiers seized 390,000 'ya ba' tablets worth up to Bt80 million in Fang district on Friday.

However, the suspects escaped NO ARESTS

How many times have they intercepted large amounts of drugs and instead of tagging them and following them to the Thais that ordered them, they just arrested them at the airport. wouldnt want to catch the real drugs distributors in Thailand now would we. cowboy.gif

    Thanks for sharing thumbsup.gif

  16. Quote " alerts U.S. citizens in Thailand that foreign terrorists may be currently looking to conduct attacks against tourist areas in Bangkok in the near future. U.S. citizens are urged to exercise caution when visiting public areas where large groups of Western tourists gather in Bangkok."

The American Citizen Services Unit of the U.S. Embassy is located at 95 Wireless Road in Bangkok

It obvious where to avoid if this piece of news is genuine, isn't it?

    clap2.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gif

Obvious if you can't read. Is the US Embassy a tourist area? Not really.

You mean US tourist will never go to US Embassy?

Obviously your poor eye sight didnt finish reading the whole sentence as they mentioned public area and where western tourist gather.

The embassy is not a public area. Unless you are talking about the street outside. The original alert was for Israeli citizens in tourist areas where they gather. Do some research.

Yeh right. Why not you continue on your research and start a new topic where it is beyond this context. RESEARCHER !
