China has been very active in Djibouti for some time now. They worked with the government of Djibouti to build a railroad between the Port city to Ethiopia whom is the country's greatest form of revenue. France, Japan and also America all have active military bases in Djibouti.  As long as you pay the price you can broker a deal and  formally assist this developing nation.

I have taken a dive trip out of Koh Samui to dive "Sail-rock" which was in open water off of Koh Tao. The dive shop has hired the boat to transfer and return with all their divers. Tracking that individual down would be short work. I cringe when I read about this type of accident happening to anyone. What a nightmare for that poor child who was trying to experience life with an extreme sport. Only wat to keep novice divers safe is to have a one on one certified trainer with each new diver on a first time dive. NO one should ever dive at night inexperienced! A miracle that she made it to hospital to get care.

I have a year before my retirement but the decision is already chiseled in stone. Looking forward to life in Bangkok, where my retirement will provide a lifestyle that will be comfortable and filled with adventure.

Whne I saw this picture of an abused girl, I wept! The fact that a Thai court would allow this couple out on bail is a criminal offense. The government that they represent should pay the findings of the court for allowing them to escape. Just my opinion but this is horrific torture to an innocent child.

Patong Beach = Paradise Beach?????????

Paradise Beach is on the southern side of the bay, reach it by driving over a steep road off to the right leaving Patong. Quite nice, but shallow bay that is rocky but for a stip of sand running out. Is a sad thing such a young man has passed this way, so sorry for the families loss.

I have used AirBnb when staying with my family in Bangkok. I think for a regular room, by ones self you don't need. But for a 3 bedroom Condo it worked out quite well for us.

My experience with Home Pro is totally different, but in Bangkok not in Phuket. We found an excellent selection of merchendise priced far below what prices in the USA are. The staff were all very professional. I am thinking this is a management push to increase sales in your local store.
