  1. Hoping someone can help me out here. I am looking for the title (or even better, a youtube link to the actual full song) to a song from the Thai movie "Love A Holic" (2006).

It is the song that plays after his wife "dies", right around 50min and 30sec - 51min 30 sec sec into the film I think. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2dJDy3KC3WM)

Have tried searching the songs that are in the credits and can't find anything...

    Thanks for any help!

  2. In order to obtain a tourist visa, your in-law(s) need to overcome the presumption of immigrant intent under section 214b of the Immigration and Nationality Act. There is a great deal of information on this forum about overcoming this presumption. It is fairly difficult if the applicant has family in the US with US Citizenship or Lawful Permanent Residence as this would evidence "strong ties" to the USA and "weak ties" to Thailand. That being said, the best advice is to be truthful on the application and hope for the best.

If you would like to assist them in immigrating to the USA, then something you may not have thought of is applying for naturalization for your wife and as soon as she is naturalized submitting an I-130 for her parents as immediate relatives of a US Citizen. Assuming all goes smoothly, you could expect to have her parents living in the USA within about 2 to 3 years.

    I hope this was helpful.

    All the Best!

Great advice, we didnt even notice that. So showing that my wife owns land there and we are planning to move to Thailand in the next 1-3 years once we have the money saved would probably help....

also any tips on the income issue?

  3. I found the checklist and directions online and it seems pretty simple to fill out and send in, just wondering if anybody who has done this recently has any tips that they wish someone would have told them to make the process easier.

    Little background:

My wife and I have been married for 6 years this December, she has one son and they have both been residing in the states on immigrant visas since December 2006. We have a 3 year old daughter together.

We have visited her home in Thailand 5 times in the last 5 years and own land there.

My wife owns her own business here (resale store) and we have saved $10K in the last 2 months, although our tax returns from last year will show around $16K for the year since we just started the business late last year. We file taxes annually since it is a self-employed business with no employees or state sales tax (clothing not taxed in PA)

We own our home and have since April 2008.

My family lives nearby and could sign the support affidavit if necassary, even though they will make less than us and still have 4 kids at home.

Any help would be appreciated :)

  4. Anyone want to hazard a guess on the SB? I am guessing Indy 27, Saints 17. I am pulling for the Saints (NFC) and would love to be wrong.

saints lead 21-17 going into halftime, game ends 38-31 colts after a last minute TD drive by Peyton Manning and the colts offense

bold, i know :) , but the colts have the best half-time analysis in the league, IMHO, and it will win the game for them

  5. My wife and I were visiting her parents in Thailand this past summer and decided to spend a day at the Casinos on the Cambodian/Thai border. When we left the Thai side and proceeded to walk towards the Casino (I forget the name, but it was uphill to the right), a uniformed Cambodian approached me and asked for my visa. I told him I didn't have one, I was not entering Combodia and was returning to Thailand upon leaving the Casino. He was then joined joined by two other uniformed men who proceeded to tell me I could not go any further or I would be arrested. 1500 baht or so later, I received a visa from the border office and proceeded on with our day (wife won the money back, and more).

My question is, do you have to have the Cambodian visa to go to the Casinos? Seeing as how you do not cross through the gates into Cambodia (the Casinos are in between the borders, at least it seems that way). I feel like we were ripped off......

  6. I am a 25 year old American male seeking work. I will be ending 8years of service with the United States Marine Corps the end of this year and moving to Thailand with my wife and 2 children. My areas of expertise include logistics. transportation, administration, clerical work, sales, human resources, management, hazardous material control, loadplanning, advertising, and a little business management. I am looking for something in the Surin area, but I am flexible on location as we do not have a house yet. I am very self-driven and a quick learner. I am not limited to office or physical labor work. Please PM me wth any information and questions. Salary is not too much of an issue, just looking for enough to support my family comfortably. I am completely fluent in english and a little in Thai, which I will be working on until we depart for Surin.

  7. even worse than people who just got off the plane 5 minutes ago and claim to know everything are the ones who have been here 10-20 years, never moved from the same bar stool and claim to know it all and like to talk down to people when in fact they are so out of touch with what is going on all around them and in reality they know F-all.

    hear, hear
