1. anyone else get this?

An access to such information has been temporarily ceased

due to the order of the Centre for the Resolution of the Emergency Situation (CRES)

under the authority of emergency decree B.E 2548 (A.D. 2005).

And what does it have to do with the SOE??

Has nothing to do with the recent leaks about Iraq or Afghanistan.

At wikileaks is also a video of a small party with members of the royal family. That reason why the access blocked.

But wasn't there a government official a few days ago who insisted that his staff was very competent in blocking content on the internet which was considered harmful to the communist stateKingdom of Thailand.

So I assume they could have blocked solely that page instead of the whole website.

  2. <snip>

What a heartless "person" for want of a better word!

which is too kind for his grossly unprofessional conduct.

Totally agree. Does he think just because he is in Thailand he has to do the finger pointing nonsense that we see in most pictures of the police with their captives.

    What an absolute <deleted>.

Why nobody has a comment on the next picture in the article where a Thai is making excactly the same gesture at excactly the same body?

  3. Veka and thyssen (or inoutic ) are German standard profiles PRODUCED in China.

WR Vinyl can deliver you Thyssen ( inoutic) profiles or have the profiles he extrudes himself to the same standard and with the same warranty as the German brands produced in China at a cost 30 % lower then ARC or Euro Pvc.

He is the only one who has his own extruding factory and is one of longest established Upvc companies .

  4. Where i live in Thailand it is very doable.I pay 2500 baht a month rent.about 85 baht a month water. some months electric is free some months 400 baht. I went a year no water bills no electric bills. A guy at the electric office told me has gone 2 years only uses fans in house no aircon and only when home.So for 3000 baht a month household costs are done. Thai cable tv is free also.I pay about 800 baht for internet. That leaves around 11.000 baht. Food is cheap eat less than 150 to 200 baht a day in food. My phantom motorcycle usees maybe 400 baht a week. My truck 1000 baht a month if I use it.After all that still around 3000 left to spend. Doable yes but I know people would not live like this if they came here. The smallest pension from most countries would be far greater than $500. People on Canada pension and old age pension which all canadians get is at least $1200 a month so Thailand is still good for low income pensioners. I personally spend a lot more than that but I know it is doable here. But low income Canadians donot come here they willnot leave their medicare.

Since you not mention it I assume that your phantom and truck came for free and will be replaced for free. You don't have tax or insurance on them and you are in the country on overstay since you don't mention any visa cost. You also will never need new clothes or anything.....Yeah then it is doable

  5. The only one from the list i have tried is Costa Rica and I don't know if it was so cheap because I was actually in a hurry to leave.

When at 6 Pm armed guards are stationed outside any Mc donalds or the hotel owner tells you that after 10 Pm he will not open the gate anymore under any circumstance then they can give my part to the dogs.

Oh by the way what I remember is that a bottled beer in a bar was something like 5 US$ and that was more then 10 years ago.

  6. That seems a lot of money??????

Speed shop 1st floor Pantip Plaza. Up to 17,000 baht.

17,000 baht for a life, it all depends on how much you value your life. I think I'd opt for two just in case i misplaced onemellow.gif

    Here we go!!!!

I asked for some advice and stated that I though 17000 baht was a lot of money.

I didn't ask to be patronised. If you value your life that much then surely you would spend your money on a car not a motorbike!

Ok then, how much would be a decent helmet in your home country? An Arai,Shoei or Nolan will cost you about the same I think. Why you expect it to be cheaper in Thailand?

  7. I don't get it. Homosexuals aren't attracted to children so why are they so over-represented amongst arrested paedophiles?

And where did you hear that for a fact.

Next time there is a man on girl pedo arrest, just wait for someone to ask, why do those hetero men do that with young girls, what is it about HETEROSEXUALITY that inclines these men to these crimes? You won't ever hear that, only on the homosexually oriented stories do the bigots come out of the woodwork.

I nowhere state that all homo's are pheadophiles,I only reject Aussiebebe statement which sounds as NO homo's are pheadophiles.

But I would like to ad the question......why is it that at sunnee plaza raids they always catch so many minors, something you hear rarely from during raids on walking street agogo's or disco's

  8. ...obviously a man of means.......

    ... and some

i'll never give away his true identity ('cos i know who he is), but i will say this... that his family, in particular his cousin, is one of the most famous & wealthiest people in the UK..

i see it as this; GM is the 'wayward son' doing his own pseudo frugal thing away from his priveliged dynasty, but with their full financial support if & when its required..

or to put it another way.. he's not short of a few bob (nor marbles) ;)

In short, he is sponsored to STAY on holiday and not to embarrass the family where he is known.

  9. Maybe you can try to go back in a few days again and then rules can have changed.

When I went to my Amphur to ask for the requirements I was told I had to get a letter from my embassy, have that translated by a certified office then verified by the ministry of internal affairs in Bangkok, come together with 2 witnesses and the local Kanman and whatever more.

I went back to very next day with only a translation of my passport done by a local translation office and a Certificate of residence which I aquired a few weeks previously to buy a motorbike but hadn't used yet and got my yellow book application approved on the spot.No witnesses,Kanman or whatever, just told them myself that all that wasn't needed.

They believed me because in most Amphur's nobody knows what is required and I always come over as a very trustable person. :whistling:

  10. Great story from 007.

Thats probably the best one up to now.

Set my day off with a smile. When I encounter some difficult situation today with difficult people ,I,ll just think of The Golden One playing pool with the planets and his belly.

No one would believe what I will be thinking :D .

If they were to say " This is a serious matter, why are you smiling?"

I could reply " Its just the thought of the Nuts from Mars sticking to the Moon Cheese".

    Funny old game.

"Anyway size is illelevant, consider eelevtivity,"

Is that nuts as in nutter?

  11. This has been covered many times. The bottom-line is Thai's won;'t pay extra for it,. Mai pen rai :)

IF they fit them extra air bags standard at the factory the same as the rest of the world they wont have any choice. And gee they made even get extra sales over the opposition the fact that theres comes with 6 or 8 air bags over the cost cutting opposition........Naaaaaaaa that wont work in Thailand too simple an idea whistling.gif

Oh yes they have. They can buy another brand that doesn't have them fitted and therefore is cheaper.

  12. Argumentative off topic posts removed from view.

As A reminder The thread is about Siam Royal View Any experiences

I think everyone has noticed construction of a new smart card security system at SRV Pattaya. The executives from the homeowner association have been working closely with SRV management to improve security. The ropes simply did not work, and we are hoping that this automated system will cut down on entering SRV without proper screening. At the minimum, it will look better and more professional.

    Gil

Wil they need a smart card to climb over the perimeter walls?

  13. Would have been interesting if they had included those 14 points and the progress in the article.

However when there isn't any reasonable progress there is also no reason to print anything.

For the 2310 radio,I assume that this is the radio network where motocyc taxis get a radio on which they can report events like accidents or foreigners working in their bar without work permit.

  14. I am an expat British retiree, I am also a qualified science teacher with experience of teaching English as a foreign language, I would like to offer my services for free to local schools but when I read my retirement visa rules I find that I cannot, even if I work for free I still need a work permit.

I have met many Thai teachers of English, I once was a guest at a conference of such, most could just about manage to hold down a job at the checkout of my local supermarket in England.

Excactly my thoughts. The Thai English teachers haven't had the right training to teach English. The majority of Foreign English teachers are here because otherwise they can't survive living in Thailand, not because they are qualified teachers.

Maybe true, but in my experience this does not make up the majority. I have found that the majority (slight) of ESL teachers actually do care about what they are teaching the kids, not forgetting the adults.

I think there is a difference between caring and being qualified.

I do not consider a steam course here in Thailand as a qualification.
