Sheryl as a first stop, and BNH call to check out availability for an initial consult.
I'm in Phuket but not practicing now otherwise I could perhaps help. I would advise not to procrastinate at all and seek a consult as soon as can be arranged ...
... Even if your wife changes to another therapist after only 1 consult at least she'll be sitting with a therapist and getting initial care and some relief.
If you are at all concerned for her safety then take her to BNH as soon as possible. I also recommend BNH they are a great institution.
The fee is irrelevant where your wife's wellbeing is concerned, what is imperative is that you take caring and nurturing action without delay.
I would advise watching carefully, monitor her state of mind, take her to places she likes and are calming, happy, and safe, maybe don't let her drive AND NOT ride a bike, if there are dangerous medications about put them in a safe place.
If you have friends of family that aggravate or upset her ask them to stay away for a time.
If you have any weapons in the home remove them, if your wife drinks then talk to her and explain that booze makes sadness much worse, and contract with her that the two of you will make sure she doesn't drink much.
Let her know you don't judge her or think she is wrong in any way, and that she can talk to you at any time and doesn't need to lock her feelings away to herself.
Its really important to let her know you see her as ok, that she is ok, and that her feelings matter and are all valid.
Tell her 'directly' that you care, that you love her, and together we will move through this sadness.
All the best mate.
Very helpful advice thanks. What's BNH ?

Several public hospitals have mental health departments, which the health care cost is at least partially, if not fully covered under the Thai social insurance program.
Okay thank you

Hi all. My friends Thai wife is struggling with depression and we are trying to find out if therapists/someone professional to talk to are something that's available here. Not sure where to start looking. Any advice /suggestions would be greatly appreciated...and while I am here RIP Ubon Joe, helped me with so many things for the last 17 years, sleep tight mate, legend.

Hi all.....
I have an appointment for our 3 daughter's UK passports this Friday........
They are asking for copies of their Thai passports, I don't remember doing this before. Shall I declare them or will it affect them?
Only 1 is valid, 1 has expired (if yes, should I still produce this one) and 1 is a baby and doesn't have one yet anyway
Thanks in advance....

Are non-o visas included in the amnesty until end of July?
Mine runs out next Friday
-
Ok great info as usual Joe thanks.
I am at immigration now but don't have kids with me,whoops.

Hi
Is it possible to get a 60 day extension on my non-o visa
Just want to buy some time
What's required at immigration and how much please?
-
Thank you everyone we will go and apply for a 60 day extension.
How many days do we need to apply before the visa expiry date?
Is it issues on the day?
Is there a limit to how many times per year/visa can you do this ?
-
Ok great thank you...
Is a 60 day extension available at Jomtien immigration? If so, any idea how much and what paperwork is required please?
Also my friend has a NON-O single entry based on marriage, has 2 kids, expires July 3rd, could he get a 60 day extension too?
Thanks for your advice

Hi
I am on a multiple entry Non-O marriage visa and am now 3 days overstay...my visa is due to expire on 27th June
Usually i'd renew in Laos, but borders are closed and to re-enter I'd need $50k insurance etc anyway and quarantine I assume
Not sure how to play this, any suggestions please. I am married with a child.
Is my only option to pay an agent although I can't show funds in my bank.
Thanks

Isnt the amnesty only for tourists / short stayers? All Non-O and Retirees are to act and apply as normal?
-
Yes, easier if married.....
-
Ok thanks again ubonjoe....understood
-
I am thinking about going to Laos to renew my Non-O marriage visa next month but never been before.
Firstly can i get a single-entry and sign on at Jomtien every 3 months or do I need to do border runs?
Secondly what do I need to take?
Thanks

Ok thanks, will avoid it then. Just nosey/curious as to what the town is like but i can imagine its nothing I haven`t seen before.
I am in Bang Saray nr Pattaya so Baan Pakard it is then, very easy there but odd now. Last time I tried not to use any agent as I never have before but couldn`t even find the office to do it myself. So handed passport over and within 20 mins I was gone and didn`t enter Cambodia myself. Cost about 1000 bht if I remember correctly.
The Myanmar option sounds great.
Thanks Joe
-
Okay huge thanks once again.
I will indeed go before songkran madness.
I hear alot of problems at Poipet for re-entry and usually go to baan pakard but wouldn`t mins seeing another place. Ok or just best avoided. I can get an online visa for Poipet which may be of benefit.

Sticker (1 year visa obtained in the uk) is valid until 18th April but my TM6 card and re-entry stamp says 22nd expiry
-
Phew.
Thanks once more Ubonjoe.
i always worry that leaving it up to just a day or 2 before it expires they won`t allow me in or give me a short temporary visa.
-
My Non-O based on marriage visa expires (after 12 months) on 26th April.
I have been told that if I do a border run around now that i will be granted another 90 days.
Is this correct?
Thanks
