  1. As far as helmets for Harley riders goes, I'd be willing to bet that less helmetless Harley/cruiser riders die from accidents than superbike riders die while wearing their super expensive helmets.

You're probably right, but there is much more people riding japanese big bikes than Harleys, and they usually drive more distance than from one bar to the other one. ;)

  2. I think with the Retina display and a better cam it's a very decent tablet.

My wife bought an iPad2 4 month ago and she really enjoy it, me even more as she don't call me every two minutes like when she had a netbook. It's easy to use and do it well. Internet, Mail, Facebook, pictures and Skype.

And I'm now quiet while she get confidence in her computer skills. Everybody happy. :)

  3. So does this new 150cc model have an option to be started "by foot" or you get stuck as soon as your battery goes flat?

To me this make a difference between a purchase or looking for another scooter...

I've owned a 125i Wave for five years, never had to change the battery and never had to use the kickstart. So who care ?

  4. I've often strapped a desktop computer back there with bungee cords so that I could take it to tukcom for repair. So although I'm sure the new 150 PCX is a dream to drive and looks good in my eyes if not my friends', it is not as practical and at prices inflated by dealers it really sticks in my crawl to pad an underserving pocket.

You should invest in a more reliable desktop computer, problem solved. ;)

  5. Strawberries in Thailand are only good for one thing... feeding the chickens.

Or they could use it for producing a kind of Strawberry Spy WineCooler. I'm sure it could be popular with the female tourists and the bar ladies. :)

  6. its cheap i know, but dont you find the local strawberries rather tasteless?

Strawberries here in Thailand are a joke.

We have a lot of strawberry fields in the south of Switzerland that are thousands time sweeter and tasty than here. I've tried for many years strawberries in north Thailand and my verdict is: sour and tasteless.

Keep growing lamyai, mangos and coconut. Keep growing the fruits that can make you proud of your agriculture. Strawberry is clearly not one of them. I've told my wife not to buy them anymore.

  7. But if you're not dead on the spot who will have to pay the hospital bill when no insurance will cover the costs ?

Well, I hate to point out the obvious, but if you're "dead on the spot" there won't be much of a hospital bill, will there?

Read my post, I've said "if you're not dead". Of course if you're dead ...

  8. As this is turning into a helmet debate thread, I'd like to repeat here my point of view that I am against a general obligation to wear helmets. Any driver older than 18 should decide for himself if he wants to wear one or not.

It's my 2nd post, I've owned very big sport bikes in Europe for 30 years, now living permanently in Thaïland. I can say wearing a quality full face helmet has saved my life twice. And now in Thailand I wear quality helmet, glove, pants motorbike jacket and light motorbike boots. Even for a ride to the market or 7eleven in the village I have a 3/4 quality helmet.

You said any driver should decide to wear or not a helmet. But if you're not dead on the spot who will have to pay the hospital bill when no insurance will cover the costs ? I hope you know that no insurance will cover any accident if you don't wear a helmet ? It's not very nice to count on your family to spend all their money to take care of your lack of responsibility.
