  1. Oh my goodness! I thought I was missing something important.

I assume from the strange names and the use of the word 'football' that this must have something to do with a minority happening revolving around a thing occassionally referred to as 'American Football'. Would that be correct?

    giggle.gif

Once again the veiled ant-Americans raise their ugly heads, The name of the game you refer to is not football, it is Association Football, from which the word Soccer comes from made by an Englishman not an American. So your sarcasm is offensive and well just wrong and uneducated.

Lighten up mjsansai no one is having a go at Americans it is just called banter. I will tease a pommy mate, and my missus as it happens, about their game (soccer) where they can run around all afternoon and the score is zero-zero. Then it's his turn to give buggery about the performance of the Australian cricket team. Then we might discuss the fact that American football, or should I call it gridiron, takes 3 hours to play 1 hour of football. There is nothing anti-British, anti-Australian or most particularly anti-American about the exercise. It is just a bit of fun. Oh, and the Scots. I would never mention that they wear skirts and haggis. Like blood hell I wouldn't.

I am a Scot, just leave the Americans alone also the Aussies call Association Football Soccer, Up Hearts

  3. Yeah its not really a 'reflection of the inequality' at all, every nation on Earth has inequality in spades. This is not about inequality, just as the 2010 riots and subsequent elections were never about inequality either although that was played out 24/7 as the main theme.

This is all about Corruption, pure and simple. Thailand needs a strong Law & Order PM, a real mad axeman who cuts up the rotting root&branch corruption wherever s/he sees it, and strikes terror into the hearts of larcenists and mafioso families etc. I'm not talking about small bribes at low level, I mean Thailand needs to clean house at the very top, and have powerful legal engine that doesn't play around at all, especially in cases agains rich+powerful people. It is not an untruth to say that until the day Thailand gets a PM who is 100% riding on a Corruption-busting platform AND s/he is totally day & night devoted to seeing it happen, this country will go NOwhere but DOWN.

Now tell us how this is going to happen?

  4. New York Pizza is the best quality and value in town. Failing that, try Italy Mate!

i will try that when i am in town

    had pizza in Italy

    had better in USA

Sure, everything is better in the USA tongue.png

PIzza is born in Italy and Italians make it in a way. American pizza is a different style, full of topping like the burger sandwich compared with a normal 'panino'.

Just a matter of taste (and diet...).

Same question with curries from England and the Indians.

Food change, evolve, adapt to a country taste.

    Capisce?

So accordingly your statement means: A white man can't play Jazz, An Italian can't box, a Scotsman can't dance and a Puerto Rican can't speak English,

  5. Red plates = don't drive after 6 PM, but generally they seem to accept 7 to 8 PM as people are still getting back from work.

Red plates = log every trip in the brown book when going out of your province (Chonburi). Within Chonburi you should be fine.

Red plates = if you want to drive at night you have to get special approval from the DMV to do so. You need to get approval for EVERY trip.

    That's it smile.png

Technically It''s Sun- up to Sun- down not 6PM but I am just quibbling

  6. Nationout the alism at it's highest. They're soooooo afraid of a farang actually buying land without the possibility of losing it to an exbargirl. This is BS.

They are not worried about the lowly white boy, they are worried about the Gulf Arab States buying up agricultural land and farms, no one cares if you own a house on one rai of land, but they will come after you because you are an easy target.

  7. Yes im talking about football, not soccer. I'm also having trouble understanding how fantasy soccer would work... a lot of games are 1-0 or 2-1... just doesnt seem like there could be enough points to be distributed to a fantasy team.

Anyways I will set up a private league on espn.com... I would prefer 10 teams but anywhere from 8-12 will be fine. Ill create it today and post the league id and password. Ill set the draft for Saturday... I can adjust the date and time if needed. Scoring will be espn standard.

I don't know why the general public in the UK put down the word "soccer", It was coined by Charles Brown, an Oxford student, I believe in 1867. The original word "football" refers to any sport played on foot as opposed to played on horseback (commoners on foot, aristocracy on horseback), besides the real name of the sport of soccer is Association Football. Stop giving the Yanks a hard time and act a little less condescending, if it's veiled anti Americanism just stand up and say so.

  8. I have been living near Santitam for nearly 8 years and I disagree about the negative comments regarding this place. I've never had/encountered any problems there (touch wood). I think a lot of people assume because part of it is poor and there are a few bars, here and there, that it is unsafe but it's fine if you're not looking for trouble.. Moreover I would rather live there than a soul-less gated community miles away from the heart of the city

I lived in the South Bronx and never had a problem but I wouldn't recommend you go there, even if you are from WestHam!

  9. Laos is $35 for Americans

And for non-Americans the cost is .....??

Well..... for Canadians it is $42.00 and for Indians it is $40.00 ----- for Chinese it is $20.00.

And this was a couple of years ago.

I've always wondered what the Canadians have done wrong to get shafted with the highest Laos visa costs.

Those Snap Frozen Yanks (Canadiens) always get the shaft, even their cousins the Brits think they're Americans with more money

  10. Careful of that 10 year rule. Anyone know more about the rights after 10 years?

This is something I have not heard of. Can you tell me more about it?

My understanding is that if squatters have been living on the land for ten years and the owners of the land don't have a contract or lease with the squatters, the squatters can petition that the land is abandoned and ask for a deed in their names. I am sure there is more to it

than this but that's what I read many years ago.

  11. This is a rip off I went to school at Georgetown University and the School of Foreign Service these people get into the Foreign Service so they can travel. US taxpayers already pay for all their services. It is disgraceful that the US State Dept doesn't charge token fees to stop abuse. My Senators and House Representative are well aware of the abuse as I write, email and when in the States telephone and complain, more should do the same and start a campaign of US citizens to sigh a petition and have it sent to Congress

  12. Because you are American.

Nearly all, if not all Americans i know of complain about cost in LOSTD,

i dont know of any other nationality that complain,

on the contrary the rest think its cheap.

Most Americans complain about the prices in Europe and especially the UK where a pair of shoes cost a 100 GBP, the same pair of shoes in the US cost US $100. You must have money to burn in Europe.

  13. Bangkok is a cesspool, it's Philadelphia without the crime and graffiti, lived there for 8 years and moved up to Chiang Mai, lived here for 29 years. I was stationed here during the 60's in the USAF,that's when Bangkok and Singapore had charm to them. No much charm left in this country except for those provincial treks into the hinterland. "All things considered, I 'd rather be in Philadelphia"

    Been to Philadelphia lately?

Just quoting W C Fields, my boy!
