  1. 9 months ago I came back to California with my Thai wife and 2 children with her after 6 years of living in Thailand and couldn't be happier. We all have to go home eventually. Living in Thailand forever is not realistic and quite problematic if you are older and with a family there. I can't imagine subjecting my children to that place again with the frightfully dangerous highways and abominable schools. Thailand is cool for a few years but definitely not forever.

  2. Typical Fox news crap. I have seen those clowns so hard up to bash and insert spin that when a clip did not come off in the intended defaming fashion, the anchorperson actually excitedly announced "di'ja hear what (he/she) said?" Then proceeded to emphatically and redundantly repeat a selected phrase from the interviewee's response in their own dramatic pitch to falsely portray unease, evasiveness, confusion, etc.

I cannot imagine any of those lightweights got his job without someone pulling strings for them. Here is another gem. I was tuned in while an anchorman went off on all the oddball religions now in the USA. His grand slam viva voce vindication of his thesis was stating that a well known actor "...is som-m-m-m- Buddhist!"

Yeah I know- Got off on a bit of a tangent here but the point is that Fox is spin and dirt. They are not news reporting and they don't know their asses from a hot rock.

Sorry but Fox News was right on the money and the world agree. Thailand's disgraceful response to the missing jet was as disgraceful as their human rights record. The fact youre more in an outrage about Fox News says alot about you....

  3. My question is, what does Bangkok have to offer besides cheap prostitutes and cheap booze? The architecture and look of the city are hideous, there is no fine arts district or local symphony which most every major city has, there are almost no parks, it smells everywhere and everything looks exactly the same no matter what neighborhood you are in. After 7 years of living in Thailand I have tried to think of a single redeeming quality Bangkok has but I can't name one. Why any Westerner lives there who is not a sex addict, alcoholic or married to a Thai and forced to stay there is beyond me.

  4. Bangkok is maybe the most dreadful city I have ever spent time in. Its filthy, expensive for anything not crap, the traffic is beyond frightful and getting anywhere even within close proximity is a nightmare. And the food is mostly awful unless you (you guessed it) want to spend ungodly amounts of money. The prostitutes and abusive drinking scene are top notch however.

  5. "Apparently that's a worse charge if you do it at night-time rather than the day, it's a very serious crime."

This quote should be changed to read "its a worse charge if you're a foreigner", because we all know if a Thai committed this crime absolutely nothing would happen to them. Especially if the victim was a foreigner.

  6. Democracy, doesn,t work. Is it a Democracy when voters are disenfranchised ,like the Florida voters, in GW Bushes 2nd Term Election. Is it a Democracy when the vote is paid for by the Winner, or Corporate Sleeze Bags. No. Democracy is an unobtainable Goal. In CM the Opposition can,t raise their voices, lest they be attacked by the so called believers in Democracy. Let the people vote and give Amnesty to all the Crooks, I for one dont call that Democracy, I call that being sucked in.

You spend too much time watching cable news. Please enlighten us to what this really great alternative to democracy is.

  7. Assault units? So he does want violence. Can't wait till he gets his cold plate of karma served up to him. What a sick, drunken parasite.

What do to think would happen if a group of thugs occupied the White House or the Elysee Palace?

Do you think other countries would send clowns to join the party and provide entertainment?

Nope. Assault teams. And much sooner. They wouldn't wait 3 months.

its thailand.why do you keep bringing up other countries which have nothing to do with this topic......stay on topic eh..coffee1.gif

What difference does it make whether its Thailand or not? His comments were perfectly on topic. So Thailand should get a free pass for being an uncivilized mob rules society simply because its Thailand? I don't follow

  8. Wouldn't be the first time a bloody civil war has broken out in this part of the world. All the elements are in place for one. They cannot keep overturning the results of an election without there eventually being consequences. This scenario has played out many times in other countries in the past and almost never has a happen ending. Those of you just brushing it off and dismissing the current crisis as nothing are fools. Thailand is at a serious crossroads right now and you better wake up to whats going on around you. After 7 years I finally got my wife and kids out of Thailand and couldn't be happier I did.

  9. Hi again thanks for all your help. Now i clearly stated that i had the mothers permission to take my daughter to be raised in australia, attend school etc. So i did not abduct my child. www.ag.gov.au this is the attorney generals website in australia, i found all the answers to my hauge questions. There is specifically some categorical grounds for a non-returnal of an allegedly abducted child to the applicant. Interesting one of the main grounds for an almost auto-matic non-returnal of a child is in the case of where a parent has given permission to the other parent and then attempted to remitt the permission at a later date. From what an international family lawyer has advised me is that the longer it is left by the applicant party, (the party alleging the abduction) then the greater the chance that the child will not be returned. If the mother had say turned up to a police station within a day or so and complained then her case would be taken more seriously than say two months later. My lawyer advised me that as everyday goes by the greater chance that any application would be rejected by an australian family court. Other grounds include periods of 12 months or more or if i could show that she would be returned to a potentially dangerous/unsafe situation, or if i could show that her human rights would be at risk or any possibility of psychological, emotional or physical truma or abuse if she was returned there. So it seems that i would have 1 solid argument and a few other supporting pieces of evidence that her safety would be at risk. Im not exactly confident but from what i can see, a sudden change of heart by the mother for the reason that she may have found a new 'sponsor' and didnt need me in her life anymore is not reasonable grounds to assert that i abducted my child. It could also be said that since it is possible that any application would be declined by the australian family court, and then subsequently it would be found that according to via hauge convention i dieg not abduct my child, then it would also make sense that a thai court would not continue a prosecution, because the have ratified the convention, and then therefore they must certainly abide by it in some sense and i think they would not just willy-nilly persue child abduction cases against foreign nationals. If anyone could give me some real examples of parents who were charged by thai authorites with kidnapping after they were given permission to leave with their dual thai/foreign child by the thai parent and then at a later date that permission was revoked then i would be interested to hear.

It seems to me you only listen to info which is supporting your opinion and try to ignore the rest.

For the Thai court you are NOT the father and the mother has sole custody.

I don't think that your supporting arguments like road safety will be taken serious.

Dude there is no way in hell an Australian or any court is going to take a child away from its biological father and send it back to a third world country based on a complaint or even a court order from one of the most notoriously corrupt justice systems anywhere in the world.

  10. Good thing there's video evidence so that this can't be denied. To protect, and serve (their own interests). This is ultimately why I left Thailand. Beautiful country but you can't raise a family in a place where you can't expect the police to put the safety of others first, especially when the proper course of action is so obvious. RIP to the injured and now deceased man.

Getting my family out of here next month. Thailand is a great place to live if you're single but definitely not a place to be raising kids.

  11. I believe those high numbers of casualties during a holiday season are unique in the world.

Google "holiday death statistics" The toll here is relatively small when compared to other countries, for example, the 8 day new years period in South Africa this year, over 1,400 died. The US has over 45,000 vehicle deaths every year (about 5 times the population than Thailand).

So you're comparing Thailand abominable holiday death toll to the road deaths of a country of 300 million people for a 1 year period? Seriously? How about you throw in Thailand's one year death for road accidents as well and see what that number is.

  12. I'm American and unfortunately I would have to agree with you. America is a country that literally celebrates violent confrontation. So many people walk around there with a chip on their shoulder hoping for some sort of confrontation. Americans are just angry people in general.

Well, i dont think all Americans are angry, it is the same with every country , some are good some are bad .

Sadly too many seem to be. The culture of victimhood that exists there has alot to do with it.
