Once i was leaving, i believe Phuket, but had a charging battery in my suitecase.

When i was about entering the plane, i saw my suitecase was out of the plane, so i go there and asked what was happening. Yes, the battery, it had to get out of the suitecase and carry on hand luggage.

Meaning it was scanned and they noticed the battery.

Weird was i had to notice it myself my suitecase was out of the plane. They didnt ask, saw it just by coincidence.  

 

I suggest for your medicines you make a list with amount and send an email to customs, if it is alright to bring them in. Then you can be sure. Bring the answering mail with you.

 

About the ring, i would suggest, keep it very close to you and dont let it out of your sight.

You could also have bought the ring in Thailand, but ok you got one now.

I bought once a ring in Thailand and kept it "hidden" in my hand luggage. Like a box in a box and then in the hand luggage, not easily accessible, but keep al times your eye on your hand luggage.

There are many things you need to do when you are passing to plane and are very easily distracted.

It is a sad if you loose the ring.

 

I think you win the prize for the best "why don't I try and make things really, really difficult for myself when entering Thailand" competition.  If you have a black hooded gown to go with the scythe, that's a sure halloween winner.

Have spoken with a good few farangs that have travelled "interProvincially", and none have had any form of licence, passport check-up, and most just get waved through at Province boundary check points.  Sod's law - just have all the paperwork to hand just in case.  

Don't bring in anything containing Codeine.  It is banned I understand, as it is used as an additive in the process of making illegal substances (Ice I believe?)

Agreed.  A logical solution would be to forget 90 day reporting and enforce the TM28 change of address requirement.  Currently two processes covering the same requirement.  Immigration would also benefit as the change of address would (should) be more timely than finding out up to 90 days later that you have changed your address.  Also, as there is no tea money involved in 90 day reporting, they would be happy to relinquish a non-PG Tips part of their duties?  

If you are a seller, the lady at the last but one shop at the entrance to the car park to Banglamung LTO will do all the paperwork.  Take all the necessary paperwork, and she will sort the documents and for a couple of hundred Baht will sort out the paperwork, and you can depart the scene.  Having bought and sold various vehicles over the years - never had a problem.  A buyer will have a bit more bureaucracy to sort out by which time you are miles away.  May not be the same deal at your local LTO, but I bet the same solution is available at a price at any LTO. 

Passport, house book (yellow or blue),  reg for the car/bike, and that's about it at Banglamung  LTO.  As usual, the documents and copies will vary

Can anyone shed any light on this.  I'm in Thailand and I speak with my mother in the UK twice a week.  She calls me one week and I call her the next.  When I call her my Thailand number shows up on her phone in the UK.  When she calls me a different Bangkok land line number shows up on my phone.  Often the same number, but not always.  When I call the BKK number it's the usual "this number does not exist".  I've not been too concerned about it until a Deliveroo charge showed up on her phone for 45 quid sterling.  She has never used any form of internet/smart phone apps.  She never uses the phone to do anything other than call/receive local calls on her UK Talk Talk land line.  If it's a scam, how can she avoid this rip off via a third party?,  Nothing too technical if possible please,  she's at the time of her life when changing the time on the microwave for GMT/BST  is a challenge.

Did mine recently and in case of any hiccups it was the full 15 days before the due date.  I had the email acknowledgement the same day. It's been mentioned many times, but you must turn off a VPN if you have one, and allow pop-ups.  If you don't, the IO computer will put the kibosh on your application. 

When moving house, does the Tabien Baan stay with the house and the new occupant changes the name in it, or does the book go with the occupant that's moving and he changes the address? 

Back to basics - I've forgotten to enable pop-ups and disable VPN many times.  Worked for me yesterday.

Correct.  I'm doing a month in Pattaya home after 4 months in the provinces as I needed to tie up a few things - car insurance, 90 days, pick up mail et al.  When I return to home in Nakhon Nowhere (assuming the regs at the time allow me to) it's self isolating.  My wife enquired of the Poo Yai Baan what happens when I get back to the village.  14 days staying at home and my wife and mother-in-law (2 houses, 1 plot) must do the same and it will be checked up on.  Sounds like all village head honcho's have been told to do the same.

Plenty of clinics will do a 2 day HIV test to put anyones mind at rest.  Or if the scam victim is still not convinced, failing that, a rather more expensive frontal lobotomy will prevent the same thing happening again.

Same here, I'm on Warfarin for life.  As the purpose of an anticoagulant is to avoid blood clotting, maybe it would prevent or at least lessen the supposed problems with Astrazeneca? 

Maybe something to do with the whole Immigration website having problems.  I went to Jomtien last Friday and to my delight it was queueless.  I had to go to the shop next door and get the photocopies you refer to.  All told, in and out in 5 minutes.  As far as the slip for the date of your next 90 day visit, the IO merely crossed out the relevant dates on my previous (on line) slip and wrote in the new date on the same slip.

It's beyond belief.  After all the diligent, stringent and tourist unfriendly precautions that the government have put in place, they are now willing to jeopardize months of "safety first" for a week of reckless frivolity.  Despite the implausible restrictions that will be in place, no-one in their right mind will think that opening up the city for songkran will result in anything other than a plethora of new cases/deaths. I dare say that a serious number of under the counter business transactions have been done lately.    

Just tried to do my 90 days online - turned off VPN and overrode warnings from Bitdefender to no avail.  Worked fine last time.  Having read a few posts back, there seems to be some technical issues.  Is this screen message I get to do with the problem?

I renewed my retirement extension in December and was told by the IO to return in 3 months with proof of my account having the required 800,000 Baht for the 3 months following the renewal

As usual there are conflicting requirements as to the proof needed depending on the local office.

At the time of my renewal, the IO simply pointed to the relevant date on her desk calendar and said "come back after, not before ".  No form to sign or stamp in my passport.  This was at Jomtien.  I have been away from home there for a while and diddent plan to go back for 2 or 3 weeks after the date she indicated.  

Some I have spoken to have said you don't have to go on the day that the 3 months are up as the IO just said 'after' with no limit.  There are also differing opinions as to the paperwork needed - some say just take your bank book, others say photocopy of book and/or statement and others have said they will require a certified letter from the bank. When I did it last year, a cursory look at bank book and that was it .

Any info from anyone having gone through the process at Jomtien would be much appreciated.

Are the ASQ regulations still in effect? I've seen nothing to the contrary.  If so, any tourists from China here for the new year would already be halfway through their 14 day porridge? Hopefully this will put off a few that would otherwise have come to Pattaya. Even so, the number of Thai Chinese living here and the influx of domestic visitors having a ball for a few days will likely see a surge in infections and the effect of a lot of the sensible preventive measures undone.  How do you stop a couple of people from Samut Sakhon coming here, possibly unwittingly carrying a nasty condition?
