I know you can get the photos done at the place on the ground floor but then that's a bit of an issue if you need them to be countersigned. How strict are they on the "significant appearance change" ... does it have to be a ludicrous difference or just something like you lost weight or gained it. Has anyone had any experience/issues on that or was it pretty lax?
I was a bit apprehensive when we went for my wife's renewal. I had tried to photoshop out the beard and piercings from the photos, but thankfully they weren't needed.

Absolutely! The 'blind' beggar with the "minky" outside the bank. Officialdom and paperwork seem to take preference over logic and common sense all over the world.

A divisive subject, but ..............
A left leaning rag has highlighted the news that the UK monarchy are about to benefit from a UK government bailout to help with the Crown Estate's annual revenue having diminished by a mere 500 million quid.
I was brought up, and was expected to respect, the Monarchy. Maybe now having had a good few years to contemplate, I can take a back seat to try and understand where the world is going. A bit cynical I know, but I get the impression that there are so many global catastrophes driven by war, famine, religious belief, weather and political ideology that deserve more recognition than are currently get. https://www.thelondoneconomic.com/politics/queen-gets-government-bailout-after-value-of-crown-estate-slumps/24/09/

In terms of keeping up with people's political beliefs, I think the present incumbent of the Prime Ministerial job had the title of 'Dinosaur' sewn up ages ago.

Am I correct in assuming that a flight to Helsinki (from BKK) and a 40 minute stopover before a flight to LHR, would do away with self-isolation in the UK as both countries are currently exempt from compulsory isolation? As the new list of exempt from quarantine countries list now includes both Singapore and Thailand, I'd checked Kayak/skyscanner etc. looking for an alternative, but the price and layovers in Singapore were too much/long.

I did my 90 day reports online.
Same here. If the web page is up and running and you've done at least one report in person before, it's a godsend on occasions when there may well be pandemonium at IOs.

He simply turned his Strat upside down, and then re-stringed it the 'normal' way, ie the bottom E nearest to the top of the fretboard. He would have had to change the nut and the bridge saddles also. OK, the knobs were not that easy to get at, but he probably had them on 11 anyway.
And also took his dentures out and swapped them around. ????

Problem solved.
“What we’re trying to do is to make the 14-day quarantine more interesting and fun than just watching Netflix,” Srisuda said. Perhaps an assisted shower should be included?

It just seems so crazy to kick out people that, given the chance, would spend money here, and then come up with a hairbrained scheme to entice foreigners with a two week stay in stalag Amari or wherever that no-one in their right mind would contemplate.

Talk about good timing, years ago I remember a Newcastle fan (calm down Wor Geordie) getting a tat of the then Toon Army idol Andy Cole. Unfortunately he chose to do it the day before Cole was sold to Arsenal. To make matters worse, he had the head on the tat altered to show Les Ferdinand. Unfortunately he left soon afterwards as well.

Fantastic news that Thailand is now on the travel corridor list and we no longer have to quarantine for 2 weeks. The question still remains - why aren't you automatically issuing these letters like other embassies (the US for example). Daily covid stats are at 4000 per day for the last two days, and a covid outbreak is reason enough to apply for a 30 day extension.
Only if you do not transit in a county that is not on the list. e.g. a stop over in pretty much anywhere in the Middle East renders the fact that you have been in Thailand irrelevant.

No-one can complain when there is an ominous knock on the door. If you were required to extend your visa or leave the country and have delayed the inevitable, then banking on a further extension which is not going to happen means rice and fish sauce for a few days - then bye bye.

The 'Star spangled banner' at Woodstock was an spontaneous piece of an iconic genius. Dismissed as a subversive anthem by the establishment, but what a seminal moment that was. The ability to play a right handed guitar with his left hand is hard enough, but to get it to do what he could do was mesmeric.

7 million "found" already
I believe that if the felony concerned involves a certain minimum amount of bunce, the top brass will use the law of diminishing returns as far as "commision" is concerned. i.e. whatever the true amount of stolen cash was, there is a point at which the victims of this heinous crime will decline the offer of the "special under the counter" service as the fee involved becomes too much to recover in relation to the said loss.

A glimmer of hope maybe? I've not seen it mentioned in any other publication, other than the one that cannot be mentioned here, but google "thailand isolate home countries" and it will appear. Still a bit vague re money in the bank and not having been to "crowded places"? Progress nonetheless.

Comorbidity is the key word.
The COVID deaths all had at least 2 serious illnesses as you mention, yet they were counted as COVID related deaths?
Some people died from lung cancer and pneumonia, yet were classified as COVID deaths.
So this hysteria, with the media leading the charge, started long before ALL the facts were really known from the actual death certificates.
Out of 175,000 deaths in the US classified as COVID related, only 6% (10,500) were the result of the person dying from COVID ONLY!
The other 165,000 deaths had at least 2 other Comorbities as show in table 3.
https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/nvss/vsrr/covid_weekly/index.htm#Comorbidities
74,332 deaths attributed to influenza and pneumonia.
59,000 deaths due to respiratory failure.
When that flawed assumption was first promulgated, it was seized upon by that well known pathological liar Trump as being the proof that Covid was only responsible for a very small fraction of the deaths reported up to that point. What a load of tripe. It is widely acknowledged that statistics can be analysed to suit the purpose of the person using them, and Trump is the master of doing so.
Trump and others suggest the figures show that the number of deaths that were due to Covid by implication have been much exaggerated. What they do not show (as it cannot be determined) is how many of those people that also had underlying conditions, would have survived had they not contracted the virus? There is no way that 165,000 people would all have died anyway if they hadn't contracted Covid. Clearly Covid has acted as a contributory factor and accelerated a lot of deaths that might not have occurred pre-virus.

For the sake of a year and saving a few trees in the Amazon in the process, they should do away with inter-extension proof of bank balance, and only check on the occasion of your next extension, by merely looking at your up to date bank book, that can see if you have or have not complied with the 800,000/400,000/800,000 requirement and bingo! - if it's OK - no problem, if it's not - you're dealt with accordingly. From the IO's point of view, it's wasted time - no fee!

As there are some good quality copies of expensive watches out there, it's fortunate that the government have within their ranks, their own 'expert' on identifying the real thing.

Yes i understand that, but this is the first time i have been asked to return with proof .. the lady checking your documents are assistants i think , they dont wear the uniform of immigration officers
The apparently 'optional for the IO' requirement to produce proof of your bank balance after three months did not exist prior to March 2019, so maybe Jomtien immigration hadn't bothered with your 2019 renewal, but now choose to do so. It even probably comes down to the individual IO. A friend from the same village as me went a day before I did in Nov 2019 and was given the same paperwork as you, but when I went there was no such requirement, so I asked if I needed to come back in three months and was told 'yes' and then given the form. As usual it's the 'left hand, right hand' syndrome !
