  1. I remember following a guy with massive OCD riding his motorcycle... He had some kind of spasms and couldn't control the frenetic moves of his whole body. The situation was funny to see but so damn dangerous, I really wondered how he could still be alive riding and how his family and friends was letting him drive anything with his condition...

  2. For those who wonder about how stupid we can be carrying cash and watches worth this amount of money, you should check at the price of high end watches. A single complication watch can easily exceed couple hundreds of thousands of dollars and go up couple millions.

I invite you to take a look at Patek Philippe watches for exemple, those are definitely work of art.

  3. This Marathon is a massive joke. I did this Standard Chartered organised full marathon in 2012. It was shockingly horrible.

First : You start at 3 am for weather and traffic condition (I am suprised traffic wasn't stop along the route, for the weather part, I understand for the health of some people but surely it wouldn't interfer with Kenyan's superstars who are crushing everyone's time).

Second : Out of 42km, 36 were actually on the Motorway. On top of that, after 18km we had to make a ridiculous U-Turn and run back the same stupid motorway, no joke.

It is absolutely unbelievable that they cannot find a proper route where we can actually see something of Bangkok or show people around a sport event. No one would support a poor runner at 4am on a motorway bridge... So not only the route is horrible but it's probably one of the loneliest marathon ever (behind badwater in the Death Valley of course smile.png )

For the beverage, I would say that it was ok, I do not remember having anything to complain about that and I did not heard of it either.

Soi dogs, I had been lucky enough not to have any either. As exhausted as I was, I wouldn't be there today to talk about it if there were any haha.

Hopefully this time they will learn from this bad press and offer something worth the buck and the effort for the runner...

  4. all this money waisted, space race, nuclear missles, nasa, space exploration

if that money was spend on the people, and not for "face" with russia, than US would have known what FREE HEALTH CARE was about

I really don't agree on this point Maidee. It is indeed very costly, but it is one of the very few things in this world that gather people in their dream or something better or at least different. The world often seems hopeless (at least to me) and every time I read news like that, I just travel a bit and feel like if we were going toward something new and not just nuclear missile engineering.

It also important to note that for most of space missions, it is a joint work between different nations and not just US. Phylea's one for exemple, got components, technology and funding from many countries.

  5. ZeuZ performance sells them now (greymarket) @ 939k - 2015 R1 that is (R1M not available yet)

It's not greymarket, I was there the first day they had it and talked with them. They told me they sell fully legal with green book for 952 000 Thb. They imported 10 of those, the were already all sold when I was there...

No R1M as you said tho.

Also OneOone bike seems to have received it (I saw some pictures on fb) but I don't know about green book and price.

IMO this bike looks absolutely gorgeous and the sound is awesome, even with the stock exhaust.

BTW, Yamaha will apparently not import it as they have problem to import it because of the exhaust.

Which raise the question, how Zeus can legally import when Yamaha can't?

  6. Kids and their mopeds shame they have nowhere to go in Bangkok to let off some steam on a Saturday night with their souped up noisy hair dryers.

There is a proper drag strip just outside Bkk. But it has rules ( not many)

These idiots don't want that, they don't even find a nice quiet road somewhere. It's usually on a major road!

Hey casualbiker, which drag strip are you talking about?

Do you have a name or location?

  7. Once again a new rule with little truth behind. Indeed, I agree big bikes are sometimes too loud, but compared to the quantity of stupid scooters, vendors/tuk tuk/moto taxi/mini van/buses with loud speakers or just ridiculously damaged pipes...is that really worth it to put it all on the newborn big bike market in Thailand?

It really feels like police/gvt is trying hard to find new revenues in the street.

When will they actually watch for Helmets, Tires (truck especially) conditions, Twisted frames of public buses and drunk driving? Maybe some lights on the cars and truck would be appreciable too?

  8. It is not only about the beauty of the piece but also the best investment ever. Art is the number one investment, before real estate and stocks.

The other reason is, art plus-value is deducted from tax in many countries.

If you want to save tax, you buy for 40 millions, you sell 60 million, the 20 millions will be deducted from your tax. Isn't it a great way to evade tax?

  9. One guy left me in a rice field around Lad Krabang once after a long day in a factory. He was summoned by the factory there for me, apparently he did not like my destination and told me his taxi was broken in the middle of nowhere. Then another taxi dropped me on the nearest big street and left me there also as he did not want to reach Sukhumvit 31 either...

This is a real PAIN in the ass sometimes with those guys. I am glad to hear/read the government is trying to take action.

  10. I would rather see the government bans taxi for insane driving behavior has we often see.

Sucking the front car's number plate at 140km/h for example... It happened to me so many times, some of my customers had an accident because their taxi was driving like this. After few years, they are still shocked and refuse to take taxi unless there is absolutely no other choice.

  11. I'll bet the art is crap.

Don't get this wrong sprq, you would be surprised by thai people potential in art. I have organized some art exhibition in Bangkok and the art market and thai talents are booming lately.

Take a look at Adler Subhashok Gallery for example, they often have some very interesting exhibitions there.

Modern art is a new market still for now in Thailand, oppositely to classical pieces featuring Buddha or Elephants or Royal family paintings. However, the demand in modern art pieces is fast growing and the value of the works is fast increasing.
