  1. Thanks Crossy, Yes, the pond is the main concern. If we are to have one, I would need a reliable power source. However, backup power would also nice. I aim to build a simple 4mx5m barn/shop with a partial second floor (side walls only one meter high and a vaulted ceiling for storage and possible guest room. I'm considering a solar array on the southside roof and a carport roof on the north side of the structure. By the way, did you have to do pinning for your pond? I live in Pathum Thani, and pinning for the house went down 20 meters. It would be a small pond, only 2m by 2m and 1. 5 meters dee, or about 5,500 - 6,000 liters of water. However, I'm afraid of it sinking. With each cleaning of the pool we would use the drainage for fertilizing our gardens. Have you done the same?
  2. I'm considering building a koi pond and also a carport/barn/guesthouse on my property and I've been wondering if a solar energy system with panels fixed to the south face of the roof would be a good idea for continuous power for the koi pond pump and an extra fridge. It could also be a nice backup for the power outages that seem to happen every other month. I'd at least have a fan or possibly a small AC unit in the second floor of the barn to duck into when the outages come. Any ideas? Thanks
