  1. I go to Pattaya for good quality dog food and hand-rearing food for parrots. When I go down there from Buriram I drive down and my wife's brother drives back and we do it in one day - such is our dislike for the place due to the fact that we can go for a beer together anywhere in Buriram Province and not have the total p*** taken out of us but in Pattaya we get so many ridiculous things said and strange looks (from males and females both farang and Thai) that we'd rather get back to the village for last orders ... LAST ORDERS - NO SUCH THING WHERE WE ARE!

    :o

Last orders in Pattaya , don't think so.

    Still drink 24/7

But im sure all the guys in Buriram have a good time on there owen.

Buriram the place to go. !!!!!!!!! Night life zero.

Have a nice night on your owen.

  2. Disgorged is the right term all right.

Great advertisement for America to have its paid corporate mercenaries for the military-industrial complex paying for sex after the shame of the Iraq invasion and Abu Gharaib.

Thais hate Ugly Americans just like the whole world of 6.5 billion humans does.

Who are you to say the whole world

    hates the yanks.

    You ####ing <deleted>

Aaaahh...The typical eloquence of an American! And if y'all ever get to travel outside y'all trailer park and leave McDisneyland to see the world y'all shall hear what is talked about in every country. But just read the Pew international polls on how America is regarded around the world. But an idiot box watching Big Mac munching US public school graduate like y'all only has the America corporate media boob tube to tell y'all that the world really loves y'all and y'all's country.

Mutts are mutts.Y'alls genetics are sure fascinating to study!

    heehee...

    Like i said.

the work is top notch, yes its expensive

but it's your teeth you only have one set

unless you want a nice plastic set.

    they are cheep.

  5. What would the consensus be for finding a suitable locale where Pattaya members of TV could meet and mingle on a casual basis ?

    Hi

Dont know you all but would be up for a beer

at the Harley bar. if you don't mind an old fart.

been in Pattaya for 8 years on and off

only went the other day, thought the girls and bar

    were great

  6. A couple of trips ago, I bought a 8baht chain from a gold shop on Pattaya central Rd, (about 200m inland from Tops S/centre). Anyway, I paid around thb62k for it and was very happy.

I returned to Australia and had to get a valuation done on it in order to include it on my policy. I couldn't believe it - it came back at aud 8.2k, (about thb246k).

Now I know 'insurance valuations' bear only a small resemblance to resale price, but it was very reassuring none the less to have a registered valuer put this sort of figure on it.

I will have no problems buying more Thai gold on future trips.

    Lemons

Sorry mate, over 400% mark up don't seam right to me.

think you should get a true value on it.

If it's right , think all of Thai visa will be over to Oz with pockets full of gold.

  7. As Indo-Siam said, I don't think the Thai Revenue Department cares much for people working outside employment.

I used to work in a company for two years. The tax was deducted from my salary and paid to the revenue department. The funny thing was that I worked illegal (without a work permit).

There used to be a time (around 15-20 years) that you were required, if you had stayed over 90 days, to get a 'Tax Clearance Form' at the revenue department. Without one you were not able to leave. Getting one was not difficult, you had just to tell them that there was an agreement with my home country. Waiting for your turn 2 hours, form within 5 minutes.

Thanks for all the advice guys

    :o

  8. May be this sounds a little bit stupid, but I give it a try.

What if everybody in the world avoids tax paying?

Why pay if i don't need to!!!!!!!

    Not me man.

I pay enough in Thailand looking after the GF and family.

and i know Thailand does not look after them.

Sod the Tax man, the income tax collected goes on What??

    Toxic and his mates. :o:D:D

  9. Hi Yep, 350000, its near the new airport so not really bangkok.  Not a new house just a small town house with a shop front.  Looking at the photos as we speak.  It will probably be gone by the time i figure out how to do it.  Thanks for all the info.  I just want something easy and quick. Sounds like the company and leasing etc is the way to go.  Anyone done it and knows the ropes? HOw expensive to set up a company and get the legals done?  If anyone knows someone reliable who can do it can you let me know name and number.  Ta

    Hi Man

Just a thought, You want to by a place near the new airport why?????

if i was you stay away from any airport, it will be to noisy.

plenty of place in Thailand not near airports.

    :o:D:D:D:D:D:D

  10. Hi:

If you have not already done so, I suggest you read this: http://www.rd.go.th/publish/6000.0.html

    Hi Sumitr Man

Had a look at the web site, thanks for that man.

Sounds like the best thing to do at present, is like you said

Keep the days down to less than 180 per year,

that’s easy done have a holiday some place once a year with the Gf.

Then transfer money once a year over here so its last years money i'm using

in the Tax mans eye, if ever questioned.

So I will carry on as a tourist every 4 weeks.

Thanks again for the advice :o

  11. Hi

    I need some advice.

Do I have to pay income or any other Tax in Thailand?

I ask this as I don’t want a problem 10 years down the road,

    when im retired here.

Im trying to avoid all income Tax round this globe if I can.

I work out side of Thailand.

I'm paid out side of Thailand.

    I'm not taxed at source.

I stay in Thailand about 190 days a year total.

This is on a tourist visa renewed very 4 weeks

when I return back from work.

My income is transferred to me from Switsiland to my personal

Uk bank account, then by me to my Thai Bangkok bank account.

every 3 months. ( I could just use an ATM machine over here

but a bit exspensive long term)

    Any idea any one.

    Thanks

  12. A couple of points I would like to add.

Firstly backpackers are the top level tourist of tomorrow. Most back packers are university students or similar on a gap year. Give them a good time and they will come back next time as a high earner. Also backpackers save for their trips and are therefore properly funded and will move on when they should.

    Ok. Right on man.

Top level tourist, loads of money. :o:D:D:D

  13. Just consider all the personal information a Thai person has to give to get a visa to the US, UK, Japan, or EU country...talk about an invasion of privacy!

It?s true with the new Tm card.

Don?t worry about the amount of income box.

just got back at BKK airport.

I left the box unchecked, no one batted an eyelid.

If they had, would have ticked the smallest amount of income.

Thailand is not a country I would tell my true income to.

    as a tourist.

    (Money number one)

  14. Hi All

British airways are the best, forget about the in-flight service this is not the real issue.

The issue is what the air line will do when things go wrong .

tickets and luggage are the main things that get <deleted>#### up.

after many years of long hall flights I can tell you all Ba are the stars of the lot

they are a bit snobby in the air but they come through when it matters

Ba are a great air line,

And no I don?t work for them, I just recognize a very good service when

Things go down. and they do when you travel a lot.

  16. Hi All

Who do i talk to about hiring a boat for deep sea fishing around the pattaya

area and at what cost should it be for a days hire rods and all ?

Also is Pattaya the best place for this?

looking to do this around mid Jan.

    Thanks for any help.

  17. A simple eye test, short/long sight) should be OK.

If you need bi-focals, multi-focals etc then you will need to take more care.  A test at one of the hospitals may well give better advice.

Go to Euro-Optic on 2nd Road, over the road from royal garden.

See Doctor Maria, she know what shes on about.
