  1. Spyware on the internet is everywhere nowadays, with google and facebook CEO's facing lawsuits and with media conglomerate and former owner of myspace Rupert Murdoch getting charged for hacking into users accounts. I-Phone, etc using the GPS on mobile devices to track consumer spending habits at the local shopping mall, just like google tracks who's amung us on ebay auction sites and what we are purchasing in horrific detail! The maps to control consumerism through corporate globalization are only steps away and this is no conspiracy theory, this has TRUTH.

The NWO patriot act is about to go into full effect. Your rights of privacy online are open to anyone in the system, reading your personal emails, private facebook messages web chats, etc and they don't need a phony court order to invade in your privacy like they do when they listen to your private telephone conversation It goes much deeper than this with HAARP and with fiber optics and satelite technology and sonar, this world is a scary place to live and the world wide web is not a place for ANYONE to keep a secret or send a personal message, so this is just a warning to others to be careful and watch your backs. Any insults or attack on my character or intellect will be ignored because I dont have time to engage in debates which only breed hatred but if you want to share knowledge that together we can build upon and help eachother it would be much appreciated and I always keep an open mind so please feel free to share your thoughts........

We need LAWS to protect our rights of Privacy online and we need them NOW before we let these companies control our lives!

    CHEERS!

  2. I don't think that Kak or Kaek refers to Muslims, but rather foreigners from SE Asia. Also means guest/visitor

    แขก

    http://www.thai-language.com/id/133597

Both above critiques on my definition of the word KAK NOT being about muslims is incorrect. Its a racist generalisation thai's make about anyone who looks like a middle easterner or souther european and its just a racist assumption about there RELIGION based on there appearance! KAK ' when directed at islamic people (Or those with dark skin, hair and long noses) in thai means= แขก ในภาษาโบราณของไทย which is very racist according to ANY of the over 1 million Thai's of the islamic faith in Thailand. SO the ignorant comments above show an obvious lack of education in the Thai language and culture of many people posting here. The word farang is the least offensive when compared to how other ethnic groups are labeled, so most of u need to stop crying and go learn to speak some thai with REAL Thai people, not on Soi Cowboy...

  3. You are wrong. Farang is not an offensive term.

As can be witnissed by the number of times this topic comes up on the forum, being called a "Farang" is offensive to many people. Therefore it is offensive to them. Just because you may not find it offensive does not mean that it is not offensive.

I agree It is often not WHAT is said BUT HOW it is said, I just posted this forum topic to resolve conflicts between thai's and westerners not intensify the already pre existing tensions amongst us.

Kaek or KAK as mentioned above have two different meaning based on the tone and 1 meaning is a guest! Another meaning of KAK is when said about someone who fits the stereotype of being a muslim by his/her outsided appearance which I find extremely offensive and my friend who is a Thai muslim said its a racist way Buddhist thai's look down on others of the islamic faith.

Jek= is also a racist term to call chinese people or "Kon Chin" said properly.

I'm not offended by the word farang but more so when its mentioned along with 'Farang Kee Nok" which means bird shi*

Jew is ok as itself most are not offended BUT if stereotyped as a jew only based on your appearance it can be inflammatory to many, but when its become a word in Thai like' Jewgee 'which means "picky" in thai, it has racist undertones...

Negro or Ai Dam or Dam Pee are all racist ways to call black people in Thailand and not only africans but dark skinned Thai people are always being looked down upon by the upper class bankokians who spend there nights and days behind corporate desks of lies to preserve there bleached white skin...Its great to be a vampire in Thailand I guess....

Have a great day everyone, I agree this topic HAS been done to death, but I guess I would need to type in Thai so some of these people here could understand specific thai terms and I don't have time for that or any more posts on this topic, hope u all enjoy debating this amongst yourselves, I just suggest we TRY to get along and accept cultural diffferences and not get so offended if someone makes a slight racial slur because most of the time its NOT racism, its just a lack of education in Thailand and this occurs in many countries around the world!

    Cheers!

  4. I've observed how Italians, greeks and anyone from south american who visits thailand are referred to as a KAK, which is a racist way to call someone of the muslim faith. Even myself have been called a KAK because I dont have blond hair, pale white skin and bright blue eyes but even as a caucasian they JUDGE my religion Based on my appearance which is very narrow minded and prejudiced, and most people from India are called Kaks as well as Sokapok which means DIRTY in thai, little do most know BUDDHISM comes from India! but MOST thai's are polite and usually only negative experiences stick out, I've even heard african american friends of mine in Thailand being called monkeys and dark ghosts and gorillas on a daily basis, if they KNEW what was being said about them there would certainly be blood shed so I just try to avoid conflicts for the most part but if someone really catches me on a bad day well.......

  5. If your chinese and someone happens to call you "Jek" its a rude way of calling you chinese.

If your Islamic and someone happens to call you "Kak" its a rude way of calling you an Islamist.

If your African and someone calls you a Negro its a rude way of calling you an African.

If your from Israel and someone calls you a 'Yew" its a rude way to call you an Israeli.

If your from anywhere else and your called a Farang in Thailand its a rude way to call you a westerner.

The polite way to address others is by calling them PEOPLE="kon", or for an elder "P" and a young lad = Nong,

If someone first does not ask what country you come from and rudely jump to conclusions based on your nationality, it is a bit unpolite, but you should understand that many of the students in Thailand learn that from a poor education system and a single parent household.

Also I suggest you try learning more of the Thai language if you want to understand words that are TRULY offensive to the

races of others. I learned many more great things about Thai people than negative aspects of there culture by learning more of there language so please give it a try. Oh and before you criticise the Thai's in there own language be sure to speak it in a more polite way

than the pitiful women down on soi cowboy- because they dont make the best Thai language instructors or even the best F.........

These are only MY opinions and I'm open to hearing anyone else's as well because I always keep an open mind and if you want to criticize myself or the Thai people it should be done preferably in an unoffensive way..thanks!
