This post is missing much of the story. Uncle Phol was one of the initial suspects, things seemed to be pointing to him. But he pled his innocence and everyone fell in love with his charisma. He got TV interviews and gained fame. Donations quickly poured in. With this he built himself a house and bought a nice car. Did collaborations with celebrities. Meanwhile, attention was drawn away from him to others in the village with drug pasts. Now over a year later, looks like the evidence has nailed him. The whole time he was living it up, while apparently guilty.

He has been on Amarin tv almost every night. Saw him singing and flogging merch to adoring fans.

I registered last Wednesday, I received a phone call on Friday to collect my appointment card on Saturdy, I did so and have an appointment for my vaccination at Hua Hin Hospital on 7 June, I'm British.

I'm registered too, in Bangkok. Booked in for mid June. In the phone call I was told it would be Moderna as I have an underlying health condition.

  3. For a 750 gram white loaf I use 250 grams bread flour, 110ml non-fat milk, or 110ml whey left over from making Greek yoghurt (it gives a sourdough flavour), 1 beaten egg, 1 tablespoon olive oil, 1 tablespoon demerara sugar, 1/2 teaspoon sea salt, 1 teaspoon Bruggeman Blue instant yeast. This consistently gives me good results.

Myanmar army is nothing but a bunch of thieves and criminals .

Please read the following part of an article by Aljazeera :

    https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2021/2/26/follow-the-money-myanmar-coup-puts-pressure-on-army-businesses

    ‘Massive theft’

The military began getting involved in business when Ne Win moved to nationalise the economy as part of his “Burmese way to Socialism in the wake of the 1962 coup.

As the military abandoned the planned economy, it began to nurture a form of crony capitalism with senior generals and military officers able to secure preferential access to many sectors of the economy, including some of the country’s most lucrative industries. In some areas, military companies and their affiliates were the only ones allowed to operate.

The process gathered momentum with the asset sales of 2011 when senior generals and their families were able to take advantage of the opening of the economy to secure control of some of Myanmar’s main assets.

“It’s really the elite and the business cronies who benefit from this massive theft of state resources,” Roberts said. “Rank and file soldiers don’t benefit, and obviously ordinary people suffer because money that that should be spent on health and education is being funnelled into buying military equipment instead.”

While the armed forces’ business interests remain largely a “black box” according to Clare Hammond, Global Witness’ London-based researcher on Myanmar, recent reports and document leaks have revealed more details of two giant conglomerates that are key to their wealth – Myanmar Economic Holdings Ltd (MEHL) and Myanmar Economic Corporation (MEC).

One of the Tatmadaw's senior generals lavished an incredible £30 million on his daughter's wedding.

It's all bluff. The only reason the UK wants to keep Scotland on board is to secure our borders; they can play this card all they like, Hadrian's Wall can be rebuilt, if push comes to shove.

I think all of Hadrian's Wall is inside England, 60 miles inside at Wallsend. The 600,000 English people living in England north of the wall might be a bit peeved if they end up on the 'wrong' side ????.

This is getting ridiculous.  I would ask a very simple question.  If we are blaming this on Cambodia, why is it showing red all around Bangkok from east, west and north and also around Chaing Mai but not elsewhere?  Are these locations magnets for Pollution?  Does it constantly drift in from Laos, China, Myanmar by all winds blowing to these locations?  The Pollution Control Department is nothing more than a front for misinformation from the mega corps controlling the sugar and general crop industry.  They know they can do something about it but they refuse.  Tragic - we are making plans to exit - because as humans we need to breath.

The past 3 mornings at our house in north west Bangkok I have taken PM2.5 readings in the garden at 8am using two good quality meters. It's been over 200 each day and I can smell burning straw in the air.

As a vietnam veteran the wearing of all of these medals and regalia really annoys me.!! I recently saw a ceremony where Prince Charles and his sons were in attendance,

and Prince Charles was wearing his medals on the left side of his chest as far as I am aware, you were medals you have earned on the left side of your chest and any

medals that have belonged to relatives of yours are worn on the right side of the chest. Can someone tell me if Prince Charles was in the military and did he actually

    earn those medals.?

Prince Charles served in the Royal Navy ending his career as captain of the mine hunter HMS Bronington. He wasn't involved in any military action during that time.

Yes, it is a moving experience, although I've not been up there for many years. It does strike me as a little odd that all the youngsters prefer to go to Gallipoli rather than Kan and upcountry : sure there was no great battle in Thailand but the experiences of those that were there are so poignant.

In school we learnt nothing about the Japanese war ( perhaps it was still considered news rather than history) but got never ending lessons about WW1 ( except for the fact that the whole Turkey fiasco was orchestrated by a clique of moronic British Generals).

Thailand has always been very accommodating and respectful of the war graves: it would be nice to see young Australians, Brits, Kiwis, Dutch take a greater interest in it.

    Gallipoli was Winston Churchill's baby.

I remember reading that the cop that got hit was stuck to the car's hood so he swerved back and forth to get him off.  Drunk and coked up.  Told the gardener to say he was the one driving, but the cops wouldn't have it.  Then was immediately allowed to go to Hong Kong for 'medical treatment'.

It was a BIB officer from the local station who rushed around to the house immediately after the crash who tried to get the butler to take the fall. The senior officer at Thonglor stepped in to prevent that.

Even convicted criminals who have fled their prison sentences are allowed Thai passports, if they pay enough. In his case, he hasn't been charged with a crime and is probably free to come to Thailand and go as he pleases.

I was wondering about the possibility of him now having a diplomatic passport. No visas required.

I wasn't sold on this 'back of the queue' story that was spun a few weeks ago. Any suggestion that Scotland would need to wait until the prior applicants were fully processed before it could be admitted to the EU is clearly incorrect.

As for Albania, I think the structural / corruption issues that continue to bedevil the country are a significant issue in their ongoing EU application. Scotland, on the other hand, is already in the EU, has EU laws enshrined in its own laws and has been a fully functioning member (albeit as part of a larger member) for years so the obstacles to overcome will be negligible in comparison.

France,  Italy and Spain all have large, independence seeking separatist movements within their states, and not wishing to see them encouraged by an independent Scotland have said they will block any application by Scotland to join the EU. Those powerful voices within the EU won't even let Scotland join the queue.

oh dear!  The colours are not the significance either.  Scotland has long had affinities with the "North-of-England" - Cumberland, Northumberland, even manchester produced a "pro-Scotland" response in some survey done around the referendum times.  Hadrian's Wall is not the border the SNP need to go for -- make it the Fosse Way.!

Hadrian's Wall has never been the border between England and Scotland. There was no England or English when Roman Emperor Hadrian had it built. Parts of it are up to 60 miles inside England. Scotland might well have an affinity with Northumbria because that part of it from the Tweed to the Firth Of Forth, including Edinburgh was part of the Anglian kingdom of Northumbria. They are descended from the same people, the Anglo-Saxons.

Waiting on Thai immigration successes with allowing foreign husbands and wives married to Thais to actually stay, with the same rules and regulations we give them back at home. :w00t:

Foreign husbands are at the bottom of the pile. Foreign women married to Thai men can apply for Thai citizenship based on their marriage to a Thai man after five years of marriage.
