  6. Hello again and thank you again. My western relatives are visiting next week and I'll be showing them around. The wife is farang who loves anything local foods and sights. The husband likes anything farang related, international foods and setting lol. As for me I've never been to Phuket before. We'll be staying in around Naiyang beach area. The kids love water and shopping malls. The adults want to go see the Big Buddha, ancient temples and any other important and beautiful views and places. Is Naiyang safe to stroll around the blocks and the beach? We need taxi, tuk tuk? We want to go to that big mall Jungceylong mall and how? I was told to rent a motor bike but we're concerned about safety. thanks in advance 🙂
  7. sorry for the late reply. Everything went perfect! thanks to all and case close. :)
  8. Thankyou all, especially khunla and khunbenq. she's here to visit her Thai inlaws in Udon and Nong Khai. I'll be helping her out taking turn driving. She's used driving on the left lane and sitting on the right. I didn't know thrrr are so many speed cameras nowadays. I'll have to drive slow and hope no one tailgates us.
  9. Hello. Any tips or what to look out for? I have a friend renting a suv from Suvarnabhumi International Airport BKK and will be driving his family to Udon Thani. It will be her first time driving in Thailand. She'll start out around 7:30 am. They'll need a lunch stop and a break. Any place that's good for a lunch stop break?
  10. well, I showed the watch strap to a Thai watch repairman in UD Town and he said I literally got scammed! He showed me the same exact straps that he sells for 140 baht!!! that's without negotiating yet!
  11. no a girl that likes the kinds that I like ????
  12. I'm an amateur novice (but quite stupid sometimes) ???? watch collector and I pretty much know about the price to quality ratio. The one I got for 700 baht was just 1 strap/band (top and bottom, pair) with no brand name or where it's made. I have a feeling most of the seller's straps are from neighbor countries, and made in China with fake "made in Italy". Most of them are plastic leathers but the seller kept swearing they were "nung thair" real leather. The seller kept saying "thowt mon bop" lying is a sin. He was so good at the act and that if I'd walk away he'd come up with some intimidating scraps like what happended to me years ago in Udon watch store next to the Udon bus station, yes another warch store!!! ????????????
  13. Central Udon basement food court next to the money exchanger, it's the only one there. It's a lesbian gentleman, very very pushy and slay. It's one of those guys that don't want you to walk away emptied handed but will make you lose a fortune. ????
  14. definitely I got scammed
  15. thanks everyone for all the infos and suggestions. I ended up doing Udon and went to Central and I think I got tourist trapped with a pair of silicone watch bands for 700baht! ???? I posted about on here last night.
  16. Would you pay 1,400 baht or more or half off for a pair of watch bands especially rubber no name silicone bands? That's what I did today. I think I got myself in a tourist scam trap. Please vote!
  17. they have higher end taste than their parents now a day ????
  18. Udon is pretty good for international shopping and Japanese food but not much kids things to do. What about Khonkaen? Is downtown Khonkaen bigger than Udon? thanks
  19. khon kean and udon no Nikons at bigcamera.
  20. Bigcamera doesn't sell Nikons, right? Their on-line store doesn't show any Nikon stuff. Any reputable store besides Bigcamera?
  21. I did online researches but it's confusing. Aren't land border crossers considered tourists too? There are thousands of tourists doing land and river borders, probably more than "flight tourists" coming into Thailand and they buy more tons of stuff than the flight tourists. I guess I'll tell her to fly. Like kids always say it's "not fair" ????
  22. can a vat be refunded by land border or bridge crossing from neighboring countries? I have a friend who wants to cross one of the bridges for shopping and wants to know if she could get vat refund and how and where?
  23. last question. if a friend crosses one of the Thai Lao bridges to shop does she qualify as a "tourist" and qualify for vat refund? where would she go for vat refund. She plans to buy a laptop that costs about 43,000 baht0. thanks in advance
  24. they had big baskets full of unripened durians.
  25. Seriously? I've never known that. Should I go back to the seller and demand money back? Or is he's gonna threaten me. I feel the latter. If coming from Udon, turn right at 3 way Thai Lao friendship bridge road, pass the convenient Mini Big C /Lotus shop, his durian stall is on the right. It's a wife and husband stall in their late 20s or early 30's.
