no one found to be infected with the disease
Great line. Of course they didn't. Once again Thais think that if you don't have a temperature and do wear a face mask then you are virus-free! So clever.

I know someone who died in the UK. Aged 78. RIP.
I also know a policeman in the UK who has it and is fighting it. A strong bloke. He'll recover.

You'd think they'd know given it's their own bl*&dy country!

Hello guys. Does anyone have any experience with digital work permits? Can I open a new bank account with one? Can I borrow money for a motorcycle purchase with one? Any advice appreciated!

Any distrust of foreigners one may have found (I haven't really) will be a lot more obvious.
Good point. That will be the result of this virus in Thailand.

Maths and Thais. Well. In my experience, the two don't go together very successfully!!

When was the last time you witnessed a Thai accepting responsibility?

This is the OP. I now have the BOI rules for a Work Permit. For the record, there is no specific requirement for a degree.
This is the source: http://www.boi.go.th/upload/06-ใบตรวจเอกสาร มาตรา 25 EN_42555.pdf
The rule is known as "section 25" and these are the requirements for individuals: Passport, Education Certificate / training Certificate, Employment record, Other Related documents, Proof of relationship Photo.

Job is not teaching.
I am after any definitive Thai rules/regulations that show a "degree" is not required. I am thinking the requirement is for an education certificate such as diploma (which I have) is OK, but I can't find any rules.

I'm the OP. I should add that I have a diploma in my field - but no degree (and the job is not teaching)

So my new employers – a BOI company in Bangkok – is saying I need a degree to get a work permit. However, I know that’s not necessary (have read plenty about it on ThaiVisa).
So, does anyone know of any Thai-language rules or regulations about the work permit process in which it is explained that a degree is not required for a work permit?
The aim is to send this to the HR dept as some proof.
Would really appreciate some help.
Cheers. Be safe!

Of course. No Thai would ever infect another Thai.
I cannot even begin to describe how disgusting I find this official xenophobic finger-pointing at "foreigners".
To be fair, it's happening all over the world. Even in places like New Zealand: https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=12317856

Does anyone know if the work permit process for BOI companies has been impacted by Covid-19?
Are they being issued as normal or with any additional requirements on applicants?
In liaison with my BOI employee, I will be applying for mine soon, just want to prepare.
Thank you for any advise.

The US Embassy has issued a statement about new Laos border rules: https://la.usembassy.gov/health-alert-u-s-embassy-vientiane-laos-march-17-2020/
Of note, it says: "Individuals not exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms who enter Laos from a country with a common border with Laos and from a province of that country that also shares a border with Laos are required to undertake 14 days of self-quarantine if the province from which they entered has more than 3 confirmed cases of COVID-19."
The question is: what does self-quarantine actually mean?
I was planning on heading for Savannakhet. But can we still get a visa and come back next day?
Thanks for any updates.
