  1. Apartments do not usualy come with internet access , but there are so many internet cafes around that should be no problem for you . I have a 2 room apartment with good sized balcony , everything included , furniture , cable TV , cooking facilities , large fridge etc , have to supply your own cooking utensils , pots , pans etc , good sized toilet in room(that works) . Rent is $120.00 a month plus electric , water , cable and cooking gas , comes out at about $45.00 a month , i have my own old computer in the room , have a reliable ISP , rent a phone , $8.00 a month and never get bothered by any-one .
With the no-hastle visa and friendly people , Cambodia living is a breeze compared to Thailand , never been approached by police , never confronted by local drunks , ex-pats are friendly , you can start your own buisiness , become a resident in 5 years , own property , sit back and relax .

Dumball thanks for the above scoop, what cities and websites do you recommend?

  2. Many is the time I have considered throwing my Samsung Note 2 into the Ping River. I must have been high when I bought the thing. OP is 100% right on.

Im thinking of picking up some android devices because I'm a developer and want to test programs on them, but I don't want to buy new ones for such little use. If any one wants to sell theirs and are close to bangkok or pattaya give me a shout 088 491 2599 or email < email address removed >

  3. yes it is pathetic that people discount the facts given on every story out of bitterness and prejudice.

the story sounds quite plausible but more importantly a 750 Kawasaki is not a scooter, people get those for one reason - to feel the exhilaration of speed. Dangerous thrill seeking is the whole point - so they can feel like bad ass men. The reality is many of them are boys who would be better off at theme parks. If he was one of those jerks who roars his engine as to disturb people 20 blocks away, all day and night, I'd feel a little less sad.

  4. certainly don't take any buses very late in the evening, the drivers notoriously fall asleep! and on-coming cars are notoriously drinking! Dont assume you cant intervene to insist on safety. Just do it with a smile. I was a passenger in a van where they began stacking boxes up precariously so that the first time the driver stepped on the brake he would have been bombarded with boxes, incredibly unsafe. I unstacked it and the passengers thanked me. It is less safe than in many modern travels, but its no worse than traveling in some ghetto areas, although for different reasons.Be prepared to forfeit a few dollars if the vehicle or driver doesn't seem safe, wait for the next one if you must. I swear, no exaggeration this one bus was filled with 1000s of mosquitoes and the driver looked at me with a straight face and shrugged as if to say, so?

  5. The cushy surroundings and the cost of $200,000 dollars a year provide a valuable insight as to what is happening: the public is being fleeced!. The irony is that politicians benefit from this kind of micky mouse justice because, naturally hearing stories of overspending makes people more angry at pedophiles. But why spend 200k when 10-20k will do the job? Clearly because the politician gains support for having "done more", people get attached to those jobs, the unions that supply those jobs are addicted to power and the wealthy prison owners come to expect those grants. and liberals are silenced because they cant argue conservatives are overreacting and too tough. ..... is anyone confused? about what???? Get a clue the prison industry LOVES pervs! Thats why child porn is so prevalent on the web! Go look and click on the skinny girls. They get younger and younger in a hurry.

  6. I don't understand the sentence "The suspect was found to have molested other victims on a previous visit."

Does this mean he has previously been accused, charged or convicted of a similar offense in Thailand?

Something about this whole story does not seem right to me , it's just a feeling I get that there is more to this than meets the eye.

He admitted it apparently but you are right to suspect something. This is a very political issue that conservatives benefit from, its an attack that lends credibility to the tough ethic without the baggage of bigotry. its exploding. partially becuase of the internet and partially because its politically useful and profitable. It raised the bar for morality! Do we want to stop manufactoring pervs? or are we content that they are useful for conservative predators? Conservative businesses are big in porn it's not a coicidence that its politically useful to demonize its abusive effects. Pre-internet this crime was rare, its now the fastest growth industry. duh, to investors its a demand!

  8. That ferry is top heavy. On windy days it scares the bjesus out of everyone feelin like it will tip over.....and of course only a few life jackets! Its taboo to complain here, they think you are rude and resist in principle, no matter what the circumstances. Very strange. I was on the upper deck of a bus once, first row seat on an all night trip to bangkok from up north. The entire bus was asleep and the driver started to fall asleep and started swerving off both sides of the road. I went down and banged on the driver/s cabin door and he stopped after a few minutes and walked it off. the train is far safer, I'll never do a late night trip again on a bus!
