What ever happen to the cab driver that hacked the American to death? Did he have a trial? Is he in Prison? I can not find any follow up info on the case.

Hello, I have been getting mixed information. I am currently on a Non Immigrant O visa with a year extension based off of marriage. My year extension ends in December 2014. I have found a job in Thailand and would like to start the job soon. My question is can I get the work permit while currently on the Non O extension or do I have to leave the country and get a Non B? If I can do it on the Non O should I wait to start the job(get the work permit) until December so that the work permit and 1 year re-extension match up? Thanks for any help?
