  1. In Bangkok I successfully got a 60-day stamp to 25-Mar. They remember my face by now(I've been here since pandemic began). I was verbally told that this is the LAST extension. They have said this is the LAST ONE a few times before when I extended. Each time I still got the stamp approved. Then shortly afterwards govt announced that covid extension program was extended. So I kept returning. Something different from the previous times is that the lady threatened that if she sees me in March, I will only be given 7 days, not 60. Not sure what to make of that, but maybe this time they really mean it? Should I apply in a different office when March comes?
  2. Same requirements for Koh Tao and Koh Phangan ??
  3. Bangkok starts the 60-days from when your current stamp expires. Mine expires 24-Jan, so 60 day from that is 25-Mar. Other offices have their own way of doing things.
  4. She was quite nasty in the beginning. Then I noticed that she gets calmer if you show no emotion and no reaction. I think she enjoys seeing the foreigners squirm when she yells at them. When I stay calm, she calmly(but firmly) talks to me. Human nature...she likes to feel like she's in charge. I don't really care...whatever it takes to get my stamp and get outta there with the least wasted energy as possible. ????
  5. And also...a certain mutant whose superpower is 'not sweating'...is probably sweating right now. #kryptonite ????
  6. I really need the solution to this. Same problem, I need the phone number corrected in the system so it can send me a new OTP password. How did they fix it for you?
  7. Yeah...I'm not sure. I believe we both dealt with the lady that sits at the far right desk. ???? I wonder if @ubonjoe can shed any wisdom on our reports which are exactly alike.
  8. ** Trip Report ** Bangkok-MTT Counter K Covid Extension Applied after receiving numerous extensions since the program started during the pandemic. I successfully got a 60-day stamp to 25-Mar. They remember my face by now, and verbally reminded me that this is the last extension. They have said this a few times before, and shortly afterwards the covid extension program gets extended, and again I apply and have gotten extended each time. One thing that's different from the previous times is that they said if I try again to apply once again in March, I will only be given 7 days, not 60. Not sure what to make of that, but maybe this time they really mean it? Lastly, I was asked when I plan to leave Thailand. I verbally confirmed I will be departing after this extension. I was not required to present a flight booking.
  9. You're not alone. It happened to me too. She wrote down on my form "Last Visa Extension". ** Trip Report ** Bangkok-MTT Counter K Covid Extension Applied after receiving numerous extensions since the program started during the pandemic. 10. There was an extension amnesty announced until 31-Dec. So the agent who did your application must have decided to start counting 60 days after the amnesty instead of 60 days after your current stamp. Consider it a Happy Christmas gift that you received 2+ weeks additional bonus. ????
  11. Remove ALL entry restrictions...and MAYBE there's a slim chance. Look at Mexico. But Mexico has the U.S. right next door...(300M potential travelers). Thailand has China near....but China isn't as lenient with its people traveling. https://embamex.sre.gob.mx/eua/index.php/en/2016-04-09-20-40-51/tourism/1762-tourism-statistics-2#:~:text=During the January – August 2021,the same period in 2020.&text=During the January – August 2021 period%2C 20.1 million international tourists, the same period in 2020.
  12. A wild guess....but could it be pre-emptive meeting to plan for a potential surge in Omicron? Apparently it spreads like wildfire. Maybe they want to stop foreigners coming in to the offices until they have a better idea what Omicron will do now that it is in-country.
  13. Nice deal !!! Is this only for postpaid(contract) customers? Or is this deal offered on prepaid sims as well?
  14. With that new South African variant though, I just hope no one gets trapped on the wrong side. It sounds paranoid, but this pandemic has really demonstrated how precarious things are when it comes to moving between countries.

  16. LOL...have you ever been pulled over for driving too fast and then the officer let you go with a warning (when he should have written you a ticket with a fine) ? That's called kindness. He didn't decided to let you go because he was worried for his job. His job allows him to make these "human judgement" calls. I can guarantee if you are not nice to the officer in this example, he will unkindly issue you your traffic ticket no matter how unfair you believe it might be.
  17. You made my point. "Rogue agents" = Humans. They are not robots, so good luck demanding fairness from them. Despite what the rules say, the IO handling your application holds the power to stamp you or make it very difficult. A robot won't understand kindness. A human at least has that possibility. ????
  18. FAIRNESS? Now that is something that is a foreign concept here(pun is intended). ???? Never, ever appeal to fairness when you need something here. KINDNESS is a language they understand. It is actually a prime virtue in the country's largest religion, Buddhism. They like to appear to have control AND to feel like you appreciate their kindness. Yes, this sounds like you have bow down like a "kiss-azz". But, hey...it's they're country not ours. I have been here since before the pandemic started(Feb-2020). I did a visa run to Myanmar, and 2 weeks after that the borders slammed shut ever since. I have stayed through the "no-fee" amnesty, and through every extension of the Covid Visa program. I DO NOT SAY THIS TO BRAG. I say it to illustrate my point. Clearly it is not a question of fairness for me to still be here, while others are getting denied the extension. The people at MTT know me by face and by name now. Only because of their KINDNESS, have I managed to still be here. Oh...I should mention...I am also very kind in my interactions with them(even when some of them were stern in scolding me for still being here). Kindness is reciprocal.
