I have noticed a lack of reports, so I thought I'd make a post to find out if anyone has applied or intends to apply soon.

If you would like Abit longer stay for roughly the same cost, I suggest to visit Thai consulate nearby to you. 1. Apply 60-day TR60 visa. 2. Arrive Thailand, and go wherever you want for 60 days. 3. Day 59 or earlier, visit immigration and get a 30-day extension. That will give you 90 days total without leaving the country. If you exit t9 Penang/KL, you can repeat this one more time(visit Thai consulate there and get TR60 once more ). OR...just fly back in as Visa Exempt, and you will do 30+30.

Definitely. It saves you time/hassle compared to doing a visa run.

They don't let you apply that early. So if the extension expires in Oct., and you want to apply for another one, but the last day to apply is 24-Aug, you won't be allowed to apply for it(too early, come 2 weeks before current stamp expires). So this is how to get people to finally move on. ????

I see his point though. IF THEY DO extend it one more time to Sept. 24, then it would be within the window of time for me to apply again, but if I get approved and then they extend the program once more to Oct. 24, then it indeed ends up becoming an EVERY 30 DAYS 1900THB extension without exiting the country. We'll see what happens, but I'm prepared to move on in any case.

Yup...this is the signal that things are ending soon. Anyone getting a 60-day approved this week(myself), that stamp will end in Oct. But since the covid program will not accept applications after 24-August(over a month before Oct)...it's doubtful we will be able to apply for any additional extension after this. Extending the program window by only a month, has effectively cut us off. Not mad about it, I'm prepared to move on. I'm just observing this reality.

Same. they know me already after 2 years of this. The one stern lady there is firm in her demeanor, but not that nasty. I think it's helpful that I always arrived well-dressed and never displayed any emotional reactions to her. I think it's a "territorial" thing. Once she knows that you acknowledge she's the "shot-caller", she doesn't huff and puff. It's the combative ones that fuel her fire and get grilled. Anyway, just my theory. Good luck everyone. Now that the program was extended only to August...our 60-day stamps will end with no ability to further apply for new ones. It was good while it lasted, time to move on soon.

This is not a complaint, just an observation. It appears to be a gentle transition to exiting the CE program. My 60-day CE stampe expires on 22-Oct. I would have been able to apply for another 60-day CE in late Sept, but since they cut the application window by 30 days (now ends 24-Aug), it shuts me out of applying one last time. Time's up in Sept. Time to make plans to move on. Thank you Thailand...it's been fun.

Just went today. As @dj230reported, it was an easy no questions asked process. I even got the notorious dragon lady, and all she said was next extension is 7 days ( I assume because their office is not notified yet if the covid program continues after July 25th). cc: @vermin on arrival In at 815, out by 900. Back on 26Jul for the extension stamp.

This information has been updated on 24 June, 2022. The following rules will be in effect from 1 July, 2022, with specific requirements for vaccinated and unvaccinated/not fully vaccinated travellers from all countries/territories with scheduled arrivals from this date. Pre-arrival requirements Vaccinated travellers must have the following documents for entering Thailand: A valid passport, or a border pass for arrivals via border checkpoints. A Certificate of COVID-19 Vaccination Everyone 18 years of age and older must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 with an approved vaccine at least 14 days before travelling to Thailand. Travellers 5-17 years of age travelling to Thailand unaccompanied must get vaccinated with at least 1 dose of an approved vaccine at least 14 days before travelling to Thailand. Those travelling with parents are exempt from this requirement. Unvaccinated/not fully vaccinated travellers must have the following documents for entering Thailand: A valid passport, or a border pass for arrivals via border checkpoints. On Arrival Requirements Upon arriving in Thailand, all travellers must undergo entry screening including body temperature check, and present the required documents to the Immigration/Health Control officer to carry out the checks. The vaccinated travellers will then be allowed entry and are free to go anywhere in the kingdom. *For arrivals by land using a border pass, they will be allowed a stay of no longer than 3 days within the specified areas only. Likewise, unvaccinated/not fully vaccinated travellers who have proof of a negative result from an RT-PCR test or professional ATK within 72 hours of travel will be allowed entry and are free to go anywhere in the kingdom. The unvaccinated/not fully vaccinated travellers without a negative test result within 72 hours of travel are required to follow the public health instructions and guidelines as deemed appropriate by the Health Control officer at the point of arrival. All expenses incurred will be the responsibility of the travellers. During the Stay While in Thailand, both vaccinated and unvaccinated/not fully vaccinated travellers are advised to strictly follow the health and safety standards. Travellers who are experiencing COVID-like symptoms should get tested. If testing positive, they must get the appropriate medical treatment. But be careful of the corners that are blind turns. Very dangerous.

"Wants to see" makes it sound like it's discretionary, as opposed to "must have". But maybe he was being nice, whereas the ladies inside at the desks, they tend to be more hard-nosed.
