Anyone get a Covid extension recently?
audaciousnomad replied to dj230's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
It won't happen this time around. Multiple reports of a 30-day Under Consideration stamp for Bangkok applications. Haven't heard any new reports that differ from this. ???? -
Somkid Accepts Invitation to Run for Prime Minister

It's the same in America though we try to hide it better, unlike here where it's in plain view. But sometimes it's truly obvious when a clown ends up in the oval office. ???? -
Barracuda Mango Prices Surge Amid Mango Sticky Rice Craze

Found them for 29baht/kg at Tesco just yesterday. Not everyone's gouging. I never buy them from Top/Gourmet/Central. They are always 79 and up there. Seen them as high as 199 off season. -

COVID Extension at Lak Si today

Thanks for the report. Glad it went okay. Wow...disappointing to hear that they are back to doing Under Consideration stamps in Bangkok. And worse yet...it's 30 days to come back, it used to be 10-15 days UC. ???? -
The mere involvement of a third party "fixer" in his prior visit to the kingdom becomes the "gateway" to abuse by less "straight-shooting" IOs. Had there been no dodgy ED visa arranged by a fixer, they would have to either let him in or deny entry for a legitimate reason. Therefore, never involve an agent who is doing "more than just paperwork" to sort you out. You just open yourself up to abuse later on.

"THAILAND is not a party to the 1951 Refugee Convention and has no specific domestic legal framework for protection of urban refugees and asylum-seekers. As such, urban refugees and asylum-seekers may be treated as illegal aliens unless they have a valid visa issued pursuant to the Thai Immigration Act. Absent a valid visa, they may be subject to arrest, prosecution and detention on immigration charges, irrespective of their status with UNHCR. In this context, UNHCR Thailand supports the progressive introduction of alternatives to detention (ATDs) as part of its advocacy for an overall domestic legal protection framework for persons of concern to UNHCR." Covid extensions after March 25?
audaciousnomad replied to JoseThailand's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
The bad news is that there is 0% chance of you staying here legally with the "7-days" stamp. It's a final decision and you must leave. You can leave and attempt to re-enter, but you absolutely will be unable to get any extension with that stamp. -
