  1. Others have stated, and I can corroborate their claims. Charles Schwab since 2010, and it has never failed. All my ATM fees have been reimbursed. AND important: No account maintenance fees. It's a FREE account! I have used it around the world....China, India, Sri Lanka, even in the Himalayas in Nepal. Once you go Schwab, you will wonder why you ever put up with any other bank's B.S.
  2. Right now, here's what's open: Cambodia Singapore Philippines Limited opening: Laos (must be pre-booked with approved Laotian travel agency) Malaysia (only Langkawi, and must be pre-booked with approved agency) Coming soon: Vietnam, Indonesia Not open: Myanmar
  3. I'm surprised. There's a reason some are denied, and others are not. It's not miraculous reasons, sometimes it is common sense. (Dress well, don't be rude, etc.) I don't know what your friends interaction was...but I am sure there's more to the story than they were "just denied" and told to leave.
  4. Which office? Some of the offices are not very kind. Because humans are not robots. You get some kind ones, and you get some not-so-kind ones.
  5. In Bangkok, it should be okay. I once applied 21 days in advance.
  6. Here you go. The risks I see for you is that Singapore may decide not to board you if your test was not done there. I am not surprised Thai Smile Cambodia staff just checks the date, not caring that the poster tested themselves from their previous origin earlier that day. If you know Singapore, you know they are very "by the book" when it comes to details like that. It would not surprise me at all if the airline staff in SIN would demand a PCR test from a SIN test center. I wouldn't chance it unless you can find a report of someone who did it in Singapore...or unless you want to be the "test pilot" on that. ???? Also, this poster was not questioned by BKK immigration. Your own mileage may vary...because humans, not robots, are running the show. And if you haven't figured it out by now...humans are the best, and the worst. ???? ????
  7. It's risky, as you need everything to go problem-free like clockwork...but I read someone in an FB group reported success doing that to Cambodia and back on the same day. If you guys want, I will find that the report and post it here. Let me know.
  8. Because I have an existing covid stamp that expires 25-Mar, I was given 60 days from that date so my permission to stay stamp says 24-May. If I had applied with an existing stamp from a normal 30-day extension, I would have lost any remaining days on that 30-day stamp because they would have cancelled that extension and started a new(different type) covid extension and the 60-days would begin on the day I applied, 7-Mar.
  9. Yes... ⬆️⬆️⬆️THIS RIGHT HERE ⬆️⬆️⬆️ 100%. I have been here since the pandemic started in 2020. I estimate that every 2nd time I came in for an extension, I was kindly and sometimes harshly informed "This is the last one!". And a few weeks later, officials in govt decided to extend the covid program. That's when I realized that IOs find out the same time ALL OF US find out if the program will continue. So when they say "last time", it is actually the truth based on what the current rules are on the day you are applying. ????
  10. Some reassuring news for you @dj230 I went today (Bangkok-MTT). Other than lots of people there (maybe because it's Monday), I had no hassles at all. Did not ask me why I'm still here. Did not ask me when I will leave. Took my app+1900baht and stamped me through to 24-May. PP = USA Visa = Exempt Important note: I have been here since the pandemic started. ????

  12. That's because that border crossing is one huge racketeering operation...on both sides of it!
  13. First, I spent a year studying and taking examinations. Then I spent another year volunteering because I am a kind and caring person. But even the hardest working, most studious, and kindest person needs a holiday to recharge themselves. And Thailand is the best place for a holiday! ????
  14. Just be glad your income isn't in rubles.
  15. Thanks. Yes, that would explain why they worded it that way when they said to come back.
  16. I think you will get 60 days starting on 15-March....so that would be May 13. What makes you believe you will only get another 30 days?
  17. Anything shared online can be false. Even on this forum, if they wanted to, someone could report a trip that they never took just to be a prankster. I don't mean to be daft, as I know you mean well...but some common sense is in order. Why would anyone who would otherwise be trying to enjoy their time at the beach or touring the country, sit down to write a detailed fairytale about their visit to an immigration office for a covid extension. Possible...yes. Likely? I doubt it. Like I said...common sense.
  18. I read on a travel blog that it takes two days to get it, and unlike at other embassies, you will need to provide(aside from flight bookings): hotel bookings, and bank statements proving you can support your trip. It was not indicated what the amount required was.
  19. Actually, the Thai embassy in Vientiane has posted info on crossing over the friendship bridge into Thailand....even which hotels are approved. Nothing for the process of going from Nong Khai over into Vientiane though. The site is in Thai, so you need Chrome browser to get an auto-translation. https://vientiane.thaiembassy.org/2022/03/4999/
  20. I have applied for TRs at Myanmar and Malaysia in the past, and was always next-day turnaround. Philippines I believe is 2 days turnaround. They all ask for return/onward itinerary as part of the application process.
  21. As someone posted, Philippines is the easiest at the moment. No test on arrival, and no quarantine if you have a vax certificate. Here is a good summary of the req's: https://mactancebuairport.com/news/international-arrival-guide/ All the other SE Asian countries(except Myanmar) are also open, or soon to be opening in the next month or so. I found a travel agency blog who did an excellent job summarizing for each country. Just scroll down this page: https://www.exotravel.com/blog/en/ and browse through all the lists of requirements.
