  1. I got an email Wednesday to say the decision has been made on the visa. But can't tell me the answer until i get the passport. They said i should be able to collect my passport from the VFS in a few days. (I subscribed for the sms and courier service) . Friday i called the VFS they still had not received my passport, but later on did get an email from them saying decision has been made and wait for the sms. It all seems very strange!

This is (part of) the e-mail message received today from the UK Border Agency in Bangkok. Application forwarded 19th March. Messaged received 21st May.

''THAILAND APPLICANTS: your documents can be collected from VFS in 1 working day, if you paid a courier fee your documents will be sent to you.''

We paid for SMS. We paid for Courier. So we (expect to) will receive by courier sometime Wednesday? Does not seem by all accounts from some members of this thread. An observation.

Does anyone here strongly recommend ringing VFS about our documents posted by courier? Or should I be expecting further mail?

We are now waiting for some two hundred documents in the post. Hope it is a strong envelope! Would this include the applicant's passport? Or are passports couriered separate? Thanks for help guys.

  2. I've been an observer up to now - thank you to the main contributers that have helped to keep our sanity during the waiting period!

To update our statistics: Submitted: 19 March received email, decision made: 18 May (sorry Retard it appears our application queue-jumped a little bit)

Pick up Monday afternoon. Will be a long weekend waiting to find out the decision as we didn't have the strongest application possible.

Good luck to those still waiting.

Noted. Our settlement visa also submitted 19 March. No reply. No approval. Shame about the passport wait and return to applicant.

If anyone is in the same boat as us, with children or are self-employed, or even have third-party support, please pm me for discussion.

  3. To farmerfred.

Checked Eva air direct flights and prices. Remember doing it a month ago.

Can't recall them being cheap though. At present, can't access eva quotes.

For direct flights as current, British Airways and Ethiad Airlines are cheap.

83,500 Baht for two adults and two children with both (Ethiad - 1,000 baht)

Expect these fair quotes to continue through until end May, June and July.

Even so, need the all important visa first. Avoid Jet Airways through Mumbai?

  4. Am not a new member to the site. But would like to add to the thread.

To the OP. Hope your second application is approved.

And likewise, to those others in the chain

    simmsc 16th march

    retard 16th march

    chogiekim 16th march

    jingjingna 12th march

Our first (spouse settlement visa) was dispatched by VFS the 19th March. No word back.

Married ten years. Two children. Self-Employed. Minimal Outgoings. But am not confident.

Two months in the wait now.
