I´ve been practising meditation for some years, and did about 6 months of committed practice last year in Thailand, in different centres mainly around Chiang Mai...

The last course I did was a 10 day Goenka, and really appreciated the hole thing...

The technique, the lack of distractions and the general commitment of people...

Now, I would like to find a place in Myanmar where I can practice that technique (or something very similar), but where I could also have something like a "temple stay" for 2 or more months...

If someone has any suggestions about that I would appreciate.

Passport, 1 Passport copy, 2 pictures and 810b to have it in 2days....

She asked to see the flight ticket, I had booked one back...

I am 37, portuguese and currently in Australia. I plan to fly to Myanmar and maybe stay more that one month, but probably just go with a normal tourist visa first.

I would appreciate some advice about wich kind of visa to get, and the best way to apply for it...

Flying to Thailand and then crossing the border is an option if feasible...

So back for reporting...

I am back from Sing. now, very nice but very expensive place )

I got there on a monday, and my flight back was on the next friday...

I got to know that they were closed on tuesday and friday due to 2 holidays in Thailand and Sing. respectively. So after some of the feed back here I wasn´t very otpimistic to get my visa in just one day...

I followed the advices here, dressed a bit more formal, and took with me the tickets back to Thailand and back to Portugal...

It went pretty well, the woman in the counter was pretty friendly, she told me she would get me the visa for the next day, but as it was my 3rd consecutive I could not get another one there, if I didn´t had a medical issue, and a letter from a doctor confirming that...

So back in Thailand with no visa issues...

I had to come to Singapore also for other reasons...

I leave Thailand the 15 th December, if the visa is denied now, will I have a hard time getting the 30 day stamp flying back? If no, can I do it again one month from now?

I´m going to Singapore for my 3rd tourist visa... I got my first one in Portugal and my second one in Vientiane, wich following the advices from here, was a very easy process...

So I´d like to ask if there are any tips or advices that someone that has done the some thing could give me about the process there...

Yeah Harry ,travelling a bit around Laos is an option so I think I will avoid the minivans...

Hi all,

I´m portuguese and came with a 2 month single entry visa, wich I extended for 30 days...

I´m going to the thai embassy in Vientiane in 15 days and I would like to know:

1. What kind of visa should I expect to get

2. How many times can I apply for that visa

3. Is it a fairly easy process or should I expect complications

4. What is the best way to get there from Chiangmai, are vans the best option, or are there cheaper efficient alternatives?
