So Mum Dad and three children will have to take two taxis, I think someone in authority needs to have an urgent word with the insurers, and in the meantime re introduce the airport bus so families can travel together
its not the best way to start a holiday is it?
gee who brings Mum and the kids to Thailand. Like taking beer to a Brewrey

Absolutely ridiculous. These scams are well documented, but seems nothing ever gets done about it
I agree Happens all the time in C M and they do nothing to stop it why only 60000 of the bill should be all of it back

So, do you think this will be sufficient incentive to encourage Thailand to treat its tourists better in order to resuscitate the ailing tourism numbers? Will Thailand come to realize that tourists are the most valuable resource in its economy? Will Thailand finally begin to listen to the valid complaints of its visitors?
NAH, not a chance! Same-same in 2015.
I doubt if they will stop treating us like shit when I first arrived it was great but has gone down hill every year if it was not for my lovely partner I would never return

You are wrong if you stay more than a month you need a Thai drivers license, they will allow short term tourist to have international licenses your not a tourist. To bad he didn't have the balls to take your bike
I have insurance my licence valid up to 3 months I been her 6 weeks I am a tourist on tourist visa and he never had the balls as he was wanting the 500 baht for himself so get your facts straight

In other words 'discrimination based on nationality'. This is not such wonderful news for Australians, Americans, and Canadians, just to name a few nations which have well-supported Thailand's tourism industry for years.
And what about us poor kiwis (New Zealanders ) we have always supported Thailand and Soi 3. 5 & 7 in Nana

In before the 29 pages of "but my case is different than the hundreds of others asking about the same thing with the same details as me" posts that are sure to follow.
Of those 70k over-stayers last year (and 30k so far this year) I wonder how many are for over-stays of less than 2-3 days ? TAT claims 26.7 million tourist arrivals in 2013, so 70,000 over-stayers would represent about .0026% of that total (a quarter of 1% of the total). Doesn't seem quite the massive problem requiring draconian measures as it sounded before.
I often overstay 2 or 3. Days and pay fine at airport
Last trip on leaving had good chat and joke with immigration man he say come back soon always like get your 1500 baht -

I hope the army can get the taxis outside Hua Lamphong train station to use their meters. Some do, but sometimes all I get are fixed rate quotes. I've heard both tourists, Thai people and honest taxi drivers complain about them.
Also at the bus Station arrived last night chased by these bad taxi drivers wanting 400 baht go to M
Nana after long search found meter was 97 baht on meter come on guys clean these A Hole mafia taxis out of Thailand
