Thanks, I know about that one already

I have had several friends ask me about visa Agents in Bangkok. Are there any agents besides Thai Visa Service? I know Pattaya has several that make it a breeze but Bangkok seems lacking. Some suggestions would be appreciated

If your passport is up to date with the bank then you can go to any branch. If you have obtained a new passport for whatever reason then you must go to the branch you opened the account. I just went through this tears ago. In the past they didn’t really care and they still had passport on file from 20 years ago when I opened the account. Sometimes they may have unreasonable demands seeing that old passport from 20 years ago….if your passport matches what they have on file go to any branch.
It was 20 years ago not 2

I binned my Revolut card due to their exchange rate included a hidden fee. If their rate is better than Wise try it
I will have to watch out for that

I don’t have a favorite. Several years ago I did open an account with KrungSi. My newest account that i opened here. I opened it back when BKKbank stoped issuing Visa and Mastercard debit cards and went with that Chinese payment processor. It was so annoying, even Starbucks wouldn’t accept it. Now BKKbank has went back to Mastercard so I am using it, never use the Krungsi one lately but they do seem more service oriented compared to the other, if they issued me a credit card without a deposit I would do more business with them. KBank I have used for years and tend to keep money that I don’t need I have had a credit card through them for more than 12 years. My spending money I keep in bkk bank
like others say it depends on your branch but I do agree Krungsi over the last several years has been known to be more foreigner friendly

It is possible to get in any branch, but will be much easier in the one which opened your account. Don´t know why it is like that, but it just is. ???? Probably something to do with individual discretion and power over my small little world syndrome.

I have tried both.
They both have my foreign address, not Thai.
I found Revolt to be minimally cheaper on very small transfers to Thailand as long as you stay within your monthly rolling fair use limit, and Wise becomes cheaper on larger transfer above a few hundred dollars.
Revolt has the advantage of free and instant transfers inside of Europe, whereas Wise needs at least a day inside the Euro zone.
Generally Wise is cheaper to most destinations and it seems easier to use in my opinion.
Their debit cards are both good. Revolut has some bells and whistles which I don't use much.
Thanks. I typed the name wrong it is Revolut. I am thinking to give Revolut a try. I have never had any issues with wise but they don’t ship debit cards to Thailand. One thing is Revolut has not ask for my passport information or anything, besides SS number, this is worrying to me as I am afraid they will do it in the middle of a transaction and hold things up. Actually my Fevoult debit card has just arrived today, I do like the app and how it is linked to my checking account but it working and being hassle free is the most important. Price seems similar but WISE wins from my research….
-
I have been using WISE to transfer money from the United States to Thailand for years without any issues. I normally receive the money in my Bangkok Bank instantly. Would Revolt be the same? I am thinking about trying Revolt but wanted to find out others experience The debit card seems a lot more flexible then WISE and it looks like Revolt will send the debit card to Thailand but WISE won’t.
it would be great to hear other s experiences

I have a custom set-up where the GPON connects directly to an adapter in an old PC which I am using as a PF-Sense router.. 10GBE SFP fiber output to a managed switch which has 2.5 Gbps ports.
Blazing fast speeds from optimised services like Google, Microsoft, Game downloads etc.. but no better than lower packages when it comes to international bandwidth.Note: Service is BYOD 2000/500 AIS
Thanks. Sounds like best to wait until prices for routers that have more then one 2.5 gigabit connections to drop I was thinking about 1.5 gigabit but maybe betting to get 1,000 mps up and down and start to update some LAN cables, etc. my deco x90 preforms well but not as good as I had hoped, mostly from the one node speeds decrease a lot. I can find the perfect spot then speeds in other areas decrease. Lots of 2.4 and 5 ghz traffic in my area, certainly wireing the 2 together would help…..

"One 4K stream requires 30 gigabits." I guess you meant 30 Mbps.
"Typically 500 mps is a good speed for most". I guess you meant 50 Mbps. This should be more than enough for most.
Yes not sure why I keep doing that and I am not able to go back and edit

2500 Gigabyte internet, where do I sign ???
That's 20,000 Gbps.
Even 1,000 Gigabyte is an impressive 8,000 Gbps.
Jokes aside, Gigabit internet, or faster, is pretty much wasted unless every component in the path supports it, that means the server sending the data, the international links, your home network, your devices etc.
Yes that was sort of my point. But multi gigabit internet is here so time to upgrade your switch’s and old cat5 cables WiFi 7 will even allow WiFi to break the 1 gigabit bottleneck some say WiFi 6 can but I certainly have never seen anything greater then that on WiFi

Getting 960-980 mbps up and down on MOCA 2.5, between 750 and 850 mbps on Wifi ax (a bit less on ac), and about 1900-1950 down/970-980 mbps up via 10 gbps network adapter (on custom built i9 iMac), connected through Netgear switch. True Gigatex 2000/1000 fiber. Note: used Speedtest app from Ookla, installed, to nearest server.
What I do with it? Nothing. Work from home from start of COVID. Probably 30 mbps would suffice but it's really cool to run speedtest and look at the needle go to max immediately... Or clicking download and not realising it's already completed so you keep clicking on download link just to end up with 15 copies of the file...
Updating OS is great though. Whole OS update of a couple of GB downloads in seconds. And using several computers, downloading or streaming at the same time obviously has no dent on internet speed.
One 4K stream requires 30 gigabits. , so it certainly adds up 6k, 8k will be coming soon. Typically 500 mps is a good speed for most if it is just one or two people sharing. I certainly never max out mine. As others have mentioned the international speeds suffer in Thailand but now it’s much better than before. If you need faster speeds international I suggest setting up a dedicated VPN in Singapore. I can stream anything from anywhere without issues. I couldn’t say that just a few years ago

You cannot get faster out of a router than is going in.
Of course not but the bandwidth would be combined in this case to make use of the full connection. Example 2 gigabit. 800 on WiFi on main Deco, 900 on LAN. The total would be almost 2 gigabytes The 2nd Deco could share also. Next generation routers will have all multi gigabit LAN ports so this won’t be an issue

yes it more costly then others but it just works, flawless I want something I keep having to tinker with, I want to watch. The Gigabyte bottleneck has kept me from upgrading to 1.5 gigabytes I just bought a new Deco X90 mesh to replace my 6 or 7 year old Orbi. the router has one 2.5 gigabyte port and the other is 1 gig yea I could take advantage of the combined speeds but I would never see the 1.5 gigabytes in a speed test nor would any single device benefit from it not that any device needs that much speed. I am assuming my Fiber optical box would need to be replaces as well WIFI 7 is coming next year but its not going to be cheap. even with my new x90 having only 2 ports and only one 2.5 gigabyte port the 1 gigabyte bottleneck will persist but with its dedicated backhaul that 1.5 gigabyte or 2 gigabyte speed could be shared. 2.5 gig switches are still costly but thinking I could slowly upgrade my cables, and buy 2 new 2.5 or 10 gigabyte switches.
I am getting about 800 mps on WIFI on my main Deco currently Not bad at all. I get about 900 to 940 mps wired on my PC. The 2nd Deco I get around 500 MPS on WIFI If you are using Multi gig fiber let me know your setup and the speeds you are getting on Wi-Fi and wired .

I have been using Apollo group iptv. Works flawlessly Lots of live tv and movies, Great layout as well. It doesn’t do you any good to have 10,000 moves is you can’t find what you want easy. No buffering either.
i thought about trying Plex but I didn’t know any host -

As normal most 0f the trolls on this site think this behavior is ok. If you saw the original video you may think other wise. I don’t care if you like wearing a freaking mask or not, the law says you must wear and this guy was threatening violence to the guy who apoched him and the staff. He was acting like a typical muscle guy maxed out on steroids. He certainly thought he was better because of anyone else because he has muscles, so pathetic. If you don’t think mask are effective fine, luckily your not making the laws. Honestly if mask are only 10 percent effective or less then they are worth it. If you don’t think the are effective at all then wear to make everyone else feel better. This guy was looking for a fight and I thank the Thai police and immigration for doing a good job. It has nothing to do with being ati foreigner. The guy was giving us all a bad name. AGAIN thank you for protecting us from people like this.

You must join the official Helium channel on Discord ( it's an app, look for it). Then you join the Thailand subchannel. There are several people based in Thailand who ordered already but no-one has received anything yet, now the waiting queue is 20 weeks. Imho the train for this has already left, it's too late. Hundred thousands of devices have to be delivered yet before yours plus in August there will be the halving of the rewards. Just buy $HNT if you believe in it. To me this enormous queue for the delivery of the devices, stinks quite a lot.
I think you need an invite for Diacord groups, I used it once. Yea one option is to take the money I wanted to use to buy the hotspot miner and buy HNT. I just bought 2, things are not so stable now, I have spent 30,000 buying a few coins just to learn a bit. I am certainly interested in mining Helium but as you say the manufactures are not making it easy
-
I am not sure if how the authorities here would view it, not am I 100 percent sure of the band being used. My research seems to point towards 915 MHz. I had been looking at the Prove of Coverage hotspot miners but none have a delivery date until after October. Helium will probably ha;f before then so not sure how profitable it will be and worried about the legal framework here and buying the model with correct band being used here
thanks in advance if anyone knows any details

I already have some Bitcoin with them from years ago, not as simple as using a real exchange to buy and sale, a bit more risky to.
I did mange to get Biance US to accept my ACH funding so I have that at least. kraken says I am able to fund through ACH but clicking that option ends at that moment with era message
I did manage to buy on yesterday’s dip and am actually in the positive today on earning. I bought Polygon, it is not doing well but luckily the others I bought are more then making up for my loss with Polygon on my yesterday’s trades. .

It’s ok to change agents It’s no issue. The agent you speak of went to 20k from 14k in one year so I know a few who switched to Pattaya. Living in Bangkok it’s not such a big issue, but now with the price at 18k it’s more of a draw. At 20k, yes use another method. If you can get cheaper why not? Just be aware of the drawbacks. Some other agents were charging even more than 20k. The agent route may not always be available but I understand it makes it so much easier even if you have the cash, 90 day reports, etc. we see criticism from those who don’t use agents agonist those that do. Do what works for you, of course doing it yourself is best but some may have reasons for not doing it. I get so bored reading theses forums and seeing people getting attached for something rather then people being helpful
