  1. When I go out with my B/f .. I am also viewed as A bar girl and it is pretty annoying though.... But I could not care less..... Since I happen to have tan skin ??

    Dah.. ?!

But the worst thing is ... not only Thai people think I am a whore walking with a Farang guy but also other Farang guys themselves treated me like one ..... while I was with my B/f ...... So, it is not very funny .....

Yes, people tend to assume that most Thai girls with farangs are hookers. Sadly, this assumption proves true most of the time. Probably about 90% of the time I'd say. Not happy with it, but that's just the way it is here.

Now… having said the above… you addressed this question to ‘Girls’ then added:

    I am 6ft 2?

    Fair complexion

    Dark brown hair

    Brownish green eyes

Not a body builder but good body

Good job at a gem jewelry company

    Blh blh bkh

I wondered why you found it necessary to say this?

The whole thing sounds to me as if you do not have a girlfriend at all, or need a change, and are advertising yourself in the hope that some girl will think you are a good ‘dumb’ catch and tell you, “Dump your girlfriend, I can help you to spend your money far better than she can.”

Have to agree. Makes no sense why this guy would feel the need to describe himself in such a way. Adds nothing to his supposed inquiry. Other than for the reasons you stated.

  3. I can’t believe some of the stuff you guys are telling these poor women. By saying stuff like “if men can do it, why not women”…blah, blah, blah, you’re implying that men and women are the same and they’re not. Women need the romance, the foreplay, the emotional aspect, etc., etc.. Men…well we just need someone to say yes. Especially when we’re just breaking puberty. And yes, men who bed many women are studs, women who bed many men are sluts (i.e., easy). Why? Because getting a typical woman in the sack is a lot more difficult than getting a guy in the sack. A woman who would boasts that she’s slept with a lot of guys really shouldn’t be so proud of it because it’s darn bloody easy, if that’s what she or any woman wants to do. Ever see Chris Rock? American comedian. He hit the nail on the head. Women are offered sex (albeit discreetly) EVERY FREAKIN DAY. Guys on the other hand are constantly chasing it. It’s the way of the world. Women, I ask you, can you sleep with a guy and afterwards, feel absolutely nothing emotionally for the guy? Men can. Do you orgasm every time you have sex? Men do. Can you sleep with a guy who’s attractive but you can’t stand? Men can. And so on. I’ve had many one-night stands and to be perfectly honest, as much fun as I had with these gals and as much as I liked some of them, I didn’t respect them. Do believe that they do that sort of thing all the time. And certainly wouldn’t marry a girl who’d sleep with me on the first date. Sorry to burst your bubbles out there and I’m actually all for women’s rights, equal pay, etc., etc. Maybe I’m the last man out there who’ll admit that men and women are different, but frankly, I like it that way.

  4. Chiangmai, without a doubt. Has all the modern trappings, culture, shopping, mountains, etc...and the most beautiful women in Thailand. Unfortunately, everyone seems to have the same idea as CM has grown to the point of overcrowding. But where else? BKK is a zoo. Pattaya is not even a real city. The infrastructure is shit, overdevelopment, too many sleazy sex tourists--and ever notice none of the Thais there are from Pattaya? The rural places are just simply out in the sticks. Nothing personal...to each his own. If you're happy in Pattaya, more power to you.

  5. Just posted on the "good places to eat" thread and thought I'd add my comments here too. The Cafe De Nimman on Nimman Haeman (across from the Warm Up) serves really good pasta and Thai dishes. They'll also do up vegetarian versions of anything if you'd just ask. Cheers!

  6. Just too many darn cars in CM, so efforts to control car emission would help greatly. And once the roadwork in various locales is completed, should reduce the dust and dirt problem in short order. Expect it'll be complete within the next decade (maybe!). I have a dark car and have almost given up washing that thing. Gets filthy within just a couple of days. Still love it here. Beats any other place in Thailand, and certainly any other place in the world. God bless the King!

  7. Check out the Cafe De Nimman on Nimman Haeman (spelling?). It's a fairly new place, across the street from the Warm Up in this little mall place called Room (if memory serves). They serve assorted pastas and Thai food. They'll even do up a vegetarian dish for you if you ask. The price is quite inexpensive, considering the place is built up like a classy restaurant. Portions ok, but not huge. The owner is usually around and pretty cool, so you might talk him up. Enjoy!

  8. All true, especially what the knowledgeable Professor stated -- but we can't do a ###### thing about any of it -- the bigger picture?  yeah, all these complaints, and it still is the best place to live, bar none.  Place the focus there amigos.

Want to go back to England and have your soul just say "<deleted>  it?"

Or back to the States and crawl on the San Diego  freeway in total misery and ask yourself frequently, "what the ###### am I doing here in this slow-death purgatory?"

God do I love it so!

Harmonica, couldn't agree more. Wouldn't live anywhere else on the planet. Don't understand these guys. Do they believe Thai's actually read this farang thread and are going to "shape up" because a few whiney foreigners say they should? If I do recall, we had our share of pollution, filth, crime, etc. back in the good ole USofA. And if some foreign d**khead were to come over to the US and complain about our way of life, I certainly would tell him to go the heck back to where he came from (after telling him to go piss up a rope). So it wouldn't surprise me if the average Thai would respond in pretty much the same way.

  9. Not particularly fond of gyms in hotels (overpriced). Try World Club in Hang Dong (spelling?). They also just opened up another fitness place adjacent to the airport (Body and Soul?--don't remember exact name). Cost I believe is around 5-6000 baht per year, or daily/monthly rates. Haven't checked there in awhile so it might have changed. Both have treadmills, weights, etc. Not huge facilities, but should accommodate your fitness requirements.

  10. Hello everyone. Been in Thailand for about three years now. Before that, used to visit fairly frequently due to work (and recreation). Do check this site now and again, but haven’t had the inclination to post until recently. PROS: Find this site to be very informative if you’re looking for EXPAT info. Haven’t even been through all of the different threads yet. But if you want to know what EXPATs are thinking, what EXPATs do here, and how EXPATs are going about their lives, this is a good source of info. Note that I’ve got the word EXPAT in caps. For the CONS: This is not a good place to find info about the Thai perspective, i.e., what Thai men and women think about anything. Many expat’s have ideas about how they think Thai folks think, but it’s pure speculation and often times way off the mark. As an expat myself and one of the few who’ve taken the time to learn the Thai language and speak to the people (beyond the GFs immediate family and circle of friends), I find Thai folks (men and women alike) to be engaging, overwhelmingly honest and hardworking, and willing to give the shirts off their backs. I believe this is contrary to how most expats think. Would love to be proven wrong. Anyways, take care all.
