  1. Spanish living in Thailand: Roads here are really dangerous. For my breadfast, chocolate or cookies i pay a fortune compared with my country. There are no many choice to drink a imported German beer and the ones are very expensive. No many place for do exercise outdoor. If you care your life you will avoid ride bycicle. Poluttion in thailand is really hight. Swim on the Beaches of Thailand is a hight risk "sport". The smell of banana and jet ski will stuck in you body.

Walk after 8.00 pm can be dangerous due to no light working. TV is very bored in Thailand so need to add True TV to my budget.

As i can't own a house here i won't feel like this is "my" country.

Really bored go to buy in big shops (home.pr.., thai watsha...,etc) as you will feel like a "falang".

As Spanish i choose my country 1000 VS 1.

If i would buy a house i always use a lawer. Only need comun sense. If you buy a house 10 times the market prices something smell. That can happend in Thailand too.

If my thai wife could adapt to my country i will move tomorrow morning.

    Wowwww.

If i would not have 12 years experience with labtops and computer and after read some comments here i could get panic Posted Image

I recomended you a full charge battery before you keep your labtop sleepy for long time.

Dont put any new battery on the fridge. The new generation is made from electronic and those could get damaged. That freezy history doesnt work anymore.

Cmos battery on computer/labtop usually can live more than 10 years and the reason for it is to keep some kind of config such as clock speed if you changed some parameter on the BIOS. If the battery is dead the computer/laptop will continue doing boot and you will get a warning message on the boot but will start as always.

My longer experience is keep 2 labtops 3 and 4 months without using. No problems found after that.

Keeping the labtop in a labtop bag is enaugh. Dont use plastic to envelope it because plastic is friend of humidity.

My baggage experience with labtops tough me that is much important try not using the battery when the plug is connect to the electricity. I mean take out it from labtop. They suffer to much because the charging proccess. If you dont do this your battery will die between a year or two. If you listen to me your battery will live around 5 years.

Anyway remember batteries are not eternal and in that day is better to buy a new labtop. In a 90% of the cases the battery wont find in the market at that time and if do the cost will be around half of a basic new labtop.

Opposite to labtops, the computers will live untill you get tired in 80% of the cases.

Be back in 3 months and tell us so more people will know and could be useful for them.

Your best option is the C.

The  suggestion from most members is to remove the battery.  Are you suggesting to leave the battery in the laptop, fully charged, or fully charge the battery and take it out and store the laptop?

I suggest to remove the battery from labtop everytime when you switch off the labtop but that is only what i do. If you plan not use the labtop for long time, sure, remove it from it. Apply it to any camera, clock etc.. The acid could damage the gold contacts.

My experience is recharge the battery close to full charge and keep it (remove from labtop) but how says the last post you could try it in half charge. Anyway when you back your battery will be discharged so recharge it again.

Thanks for the links to the other poster.

Removing the battery is what many are suggesting.  I was just concerned about the BIOS battery, but it doesn't seem to be an issue.

Don't worry for the BIOS and CMOS. I had many old computers which i didnt switch on in years and they boot at first day. Same test in labtop. I have an ACER ferrari 64 bits. Unfortunately i could not found a new battery. He run as first day when plugin on electrical. Your only worries in labtop will be the battery, sometines hard disk because hot ( in Thailand use a fan under is a very good idea), electrical tranformer conexion and screen if you dont take care well.

  5. Odd time of Year for Spanish to come here. Plenty of Foriegners to attack back home, when they get bored with stabbing Bulls.beatdeadhorse.gif

You should know that the majority of the Spaniard population dislikes the subject of bullfighting. Only residues of fascism in Spain they like, but of course, they are the ruling class…

It would be the same as saying that all Italians are gangsters, or that all Israelis are murderers of Palestinian children, or that all Americans are killing people around the world.

You should also know, that in a province already achieved ban bullfighting, but of course now French tourists are outraged by not being able to travel to that province to "enjoy" bullfighting.

There is garbage all over the world, man… there is nowhere to run

Sorry but this is not the right part of the history: Its right that some people from Spain dislikes bullfighting but in the other hand there are many people who like it. I can tell you the Bull live in the field with 100 cows during 6 to 7 years. They realy live like a king in a jungle. If they have any problem a vet is coming as far as possible. Everyday people run them with a horse to do exercise. Thanks that: the animal is not actually extinguish, the field is preserved from cut or another insteresting as Golf camps, etc.

As a animal lover I am I dont say its not hard to see how a animal is killed but it's Spanish culture if you don't like don't watch it.

I like to see how the people can be so cynical. Why dont you say any comment about how is the chicken, sheep or cow life? Ohh yes its better die electrocuted and living in a box smaller than you with the light 24h/day on. But Aroi MAK MAK...

It's nothing about fascism or rulling class. But people don't know what is the inside. Anyway take care a bull is really relly expensive. They will exting because crisis...

Now ON topic: I hope that Spanish couple learn the meaning of travel to YOUR NOT COUNTRY.

If you go to the beach and keep your wallet in your set bike. Don't complaint to anybody. Because you are stupid. Here and in everywhere.

I don't think they were under anything but people doesn't take well when someone stole their money harder to earn it nowdays.

  6. Woww this is an important news after the Bin Laden' murder! Thanks Thailand.

About the people who comment about low quality, drank, bad ruskis, etc seems like they never had 22 years old.

Sure this is falang visa and it doesnt include Russian. They found Thailand later!

In the pic they are laughing because call to the police and press because two 100 baht hats is really funny.

    :D

  7. Nice post!

  8. This is about vet cat or about what...?

Its a big lie compare Your province people with the Thai people. Everyone in Spain know how Nazi are the small piece of people that claim separate of Spain but in the other side they "forgot" how much they got from Spain theyself.

You right about similar to Thai people. The brainwash politician start it from school. Dont letting your children to learn Spanish languague and teaching a lie side of the history. The big diferent with thai people is what at least they protect theirself opposite your who want destroy everything from Spain.

Sorry to tell you will never get another citizen than Spain. Dont lie people here.

Now i go on toppic: I love my cat except when she do po outside the box!

  9. I must to day this post was very funny from the start.

Many people advice you with this and that as the TV members do. They forgot the risk that they ran at the start when first time they came to Thailand. I guess many people knew his g/f from internet chatting and i dont think always in a bad end.

    My advice is you:

    - Take a hot-liday to Thailand. Mate flight is 10000 times secure than drive. This will tell you how really is your compenetration and you will see how a thai woman is!

    - Forget the VISA for her if she can show money enough to live by herself during the travel. In my own country in EU it doesnt matter how much money you have in your bank. Her thai account bank is the important. I recomend you her to take a small holiday with you. As i wrote above in prev point . You/she will know how is the "true face".

And another advice as people told you is avoid sending money monthly pls. Love or friendship is not about that...

    Good luck.

  10. Why many people here feel sad about this poor woman but not for the bad iranian?? The aswer is clear and easy. Because women are usually more debil than men. I join to the people that feel sad with the thai woman. Unfortunately the girl will never talk about who gave her the drug. Im sure the spoke contract say that if you give that information to the police all your family will ...

  11. I see only negative storys here all the time, I live in Chiang Mai and I see a lot of work has be done on the Ping river,

and I guess in other places also hard work was done, do you ppl ever go out to see what s been done and what not

and if you dont like what happen here, go back if its better in your own country

I love it here and I love the lay back mentality, thats why I am here

Sorry. I don't see negative storys. I see the true story. But if you don't like it you are free for don't come to thaivisa.

When you be stooped for a cop and you have to pay for a U-turn but Thai are free to do 1000 U-turn. When you feel you are a falang in Thailand you will understand what people is talking about.

I guess you are less than one month in Amazing Thailand. The Land of smile wai.gif

  12. K.David, one friend of mine... is traveling to Spain in December too. She is Thai. How many people know try to contact directly with some embassies is a waste of time. I recommend you the same way of my friend: http://www.vfsglobal.com/

I don't know how much money she has to pay but I think she told me not a lot. They will tell you exactly the documents whose you need and they will help you if any problemns happen. Good luck with the Visa and I hope you enjoy Spain. Is a very good choice!

  13. The old argument of "paying rent is dead money" may be a valid argument in the west - BUT, this is Thailand, and in my opinion, paying rent here is a solid financial decision, especially when you put the purchase capital into a western bank and it makes more than enough money in interest to cover the rent here, and that capital is available to you at any time.

Which Western bank are you talking about. I haven't seen any that have interest rates high enough to cover rent here. And what about inflation? Over the years the interest you get will cover less and less of the rent. And you also have currency fluctuations to deal with. Could go in your favour, but what if it goes 50% against you in the next 10 years. If you intend to live in Thailand for the rest of your life it makes much more sense to buy a property.

I think you worry far to much about getting a property confiscated? How often does that actually happen? I've never heard it happen with anyone who bought a condo. The only places I've heard about it is where the property is built in the wrong place (e.g. in a national park) or where the land has been bought illegally (e.g. setting up a company specifically to around laws that don't allow you to own land). Stick to the laws and you'll be ok.

Build a property in a national park in the UK and I can guarantee you that it will get demolished much more quickly than here. In the UK, properties have recently been demolished because they were 6" to high and 6" too wide. That is the reality in the UK. And in Spain, tens of thousands of properties have been demolished. The buyers did everything correctly in these cases but didn't get any compensation. So that is the West for you.

I think you spend too much time listening to the Thailand knockers on here and need to get out into the real world and meet some real people who have bought property and live happy lives, free from any hassle.

But I would advise you against buying anything in Thailand because it would be far too stressful for you worrying about could happen.

Hello. The Spanish people you are talking about: first stoled the land and built illegally the house. Sometines they built in a National Park, sometines 100m. from the beach,... Fortunately the new goverment changed the law. So that people are lucky and have to give thanks to not go to the jail.

People is not stupid but intended to be
