  1. Where people might get caught out, Is the Embassy take the Gross pay on your pension statement and put it on the Immigration letter. When you went to the office they just multiplied it by the current pound v thai Baht rate and that was Your monthly income. If you now have to show the bank statements that’s after Tax and may well fall short of 65,000 for some people.

  2. 3 MONTHS 6700, great staff, includes Tennis, boxing, squash, etc, Sauna, steam room , and Jacuzzi, plus 17% discount card for hotel so after, you can sit by the pool and relax with a pot of coffee for 90 baht. Think I've gone to heaven.

  3. I was a member at the Hilton up till last week, And very happy as well now they have stopped all monthly, 3 monthly and 6 monthly memberships. Can only join for full year, They must be strapped for cash. I used to be a member at @lectic market village, but not that keen on the new place. Do any other of the main hotels have fitness memberships?

  4. I like the Sea Pines course too and their membership deal seems pretty reasonable. Usually very quiet if you get there for an early tee time.

The Banyan website has the details of their various memberships. They have different rates depending on what type of visa you hold. A quality course with superb clubhouse.

I was impressed by Majestic Creek on my recent golf trip and the greens there were very nice to putt on. Check out their website for membership details too.

I wasn't so happy with Black Mountain. Sure, their course is very high quality but they seem to have never-ending construction around the course and some of their staff seem a bit snobby. I played in the so-called low season with my father and we had a five and a half hour round in the hot afternoon sun. There were no tee times available before 10am over a two week period. Maybe a membership will help secure tee times as their booking site often has no tee times available at all.

It must be about 100 pounds a round now with buggy and caddie has the world gone mad

  5. Big money, you buy a hotel then knock it down, spend 2 years building a new one. That must be rented land. As for the Hilton, 20 years ago when it was the Melia hotel, I used to use the music lounge often prices were fair, now you only see guests heading out. If your a guest and want to play tennis its free, but if you would like to play with a racket in your hand its 300 baht. The rents in town now are very high and rising, so its all passed on to the customers.

  6. Its been shown by ESPN in the UK, I checked the listings on the 27th on the espn channel in Thailand but no football that day. What about paying online can you get it outside the UK on a web site live. Thanks for your help. PS it's Brentford I would like to watch, big day for my little club.
