Best I've got is one in the driveway:
Wow! A ZX-14 in Thailand. Not an easy bike to come by....or afford there. Nice!

How generous of Patong Hospital to open their budget and grant Mr. Papaleo a whopping 1,690bht grant. :-\ SMH- 11

It will be enforced for a few months, then like all the other vocal cannon fodder we've become accustomed to....it will slowly return to par for the course.

Phuket is already exploding at the seams. They are scrambling to catch up to handle the growth (i.e. the underground Central Festival bypass) and we all know how nothing in Thailand gets done in a hurry. And if it does...the quality & safety suffer.
My wife was born & raised in Phuket and she said she barely recognizes it anymore. It's glory days as a beautiful island have been replaced by a tourist trap that's resources are tapped out.

Interesting you and many others apparently get the "creeps" from Pattaya. Probably better that you live in one of the Western nanny states where everything is done for you and all life's rough edges have been smoothed out and polished for you. Also, something like 60 percent of more of the UK citizens identify themselves as atheists or agnostics so there's a very good chance that your prayers are unwanted.Brits having a rough week in Pattaya. I also saw another post of a British lad who was found dead in his Pattaya apartment.
That whole city just gives me the creeps. Prayers to the deceased friends & family.
I'll pray for you too then. LMAO

I can't imagine either of those pistols shown in the photo are referring to the modified weapon for the shotgun cartridges. I don't even see how the round could fit in them.

I came here for the humor :-)

Oh good....now BKK can batten down the hatches for the arrival of the Red Shirt brigade. I hope for the sake of the Thai people that it's not out of the pot and into the fire.

I've been in the area of these blasts on numerous occasions. Really sad to see this, HatYai is easily in my top 3 favorite cities in Thailand.
Let's hope this madness comes to an end. The residents there deserve better.

Excellent idea. They can drive through the coastal villages, on a 2 lane road vs a 4, and over the other hills which are scenes to nearly as many accidents. About as sensible as as two lane tunnel replacing an already overloaded 4 lane Patong hill road. Its the vehicle maintenance and poor driving that is the issue - not sending the same on a different route.
Totally agree. And even if they do take the other route to Patong passed Bang Tao & Kamala....there are STILL some VERY steep hills they have to overcome in that direction! *face palm*

You want tourist but asked them go back to sleep 12 p.m like Cinderella , fun just begin 10.00 p.m - 11.00 p.m main income for district office post to make extra, why silly politician make such laws many vibrate cities like Hong Kong ,Singapore and Kuala Lumpur which never sleep, leave the adult alone as long as not children under 18 roaming after 10.00 p.m that is fine.
Such control makes more illegal discos and pubs, which you can see in dark lane but many people walking in and out.
The demand is there the government should collect more taxes if let them operate legally and in other ways.
Agree! It's never been a problem in Phnom Penh either. And there the doors NEVER close to some bars & discos.

bring your own life jackets
Interesting post. Fact of the matter I never did find any life jackets on that high speed ferry. I did look and enquire (something I routinely do from working 25 years on crew boats) - no comment (mai lou) by the boat crew.
Good on you for at least looking & asking. But such a sad, typical response

Yes I believe it's about 200-300bht something like that.
Or you can order the "nicer" raised lettering debit card with your name on it, pay the ridiculous fee of 800bht and have to wait 3weeks! LOL
K-Bank charges for EVERYTHING!!!

The funny....not funny....thing about this story is how the officer openly said AFTER you paid the fine that you were "free to ride the remainder of the day with no helmet" I mean <deleted>!? Why bother even stopping someone then? ...... oh yeah....mia noi/tea money! LOL

Agree with it or disagree with it.......easy solution is to just get the boy to use a damn condom!
I know, I know....easier said than done at that age I guess!

Sure the models are great! But I was really hoping to see some of the new and future model cars at this event!

Another quality farang tourist arrives.
I keep posting this comment, can I have it "pinned"...........
And the mystery deepens as to why Thais don't think of farangs as role models to emulate. Haven't finished this thread yet, but I'm sure someone will blame his behavior on Thais and Thailand.
Well... if Thailand didn't sell beer so cheap, this may not have happened.. So who is the real culprit?
Cheap? Hmmm, sure cheap to some like possibly this Canadian. But nothing like the $0.50 - $0.75 all day priced beers you can find at many bars in Cambodia!
Strange how I don't see or read about crazy naked Farang running around populated tourist areas there.

Artful photo shot. Nicely framed hands over <removed>
Must've been that cold concrete they put him down on that caused the "frightened turtle" syndrome.
LOL

Having just flown Nok Air out of Phuket International and departing from that horrific gate 66 that's jammed into the right side of the domestic terminal....I can speak first hand how easy it would have been for someone to slip past the boarding pass check point.
If anyone is familiar or has flown out of gate 66A or B....and witnessed 2 flights trying to leave thru there at or about the same time then you'll know what I'm talking about. It's a complete cluster <deleted>*k! My Nok Air flight was departing with only a 15 minute difference than a Bangkok Airways flight! It was a total mess watching them trying to control the circus of people attempting to go thru and down that one walkway to the shuttle buses.

I need to do a visa run this next coming week and I am getting a late start on doing some research. A friend of mine here in BKK mentioned it's a National holiday in Thailand for 'Chakkri Dynasty Day' and that the consulate in PP may be closed as well. I searched the Thai consulates website in PP, but was unable to find a calendar of dates they are closed.
I just need to know if I should fly in on Sunday and have the agency I use be able to submit my passport to the consulate on Monday, or if I should save a nights hotel fee and fly in on Monday and have them submit it on Tuesday???
Any help would be appreciated!
Cheers,

I applaud the OP's post. It's refreshing to read a positive outcome on here after all the depressing dribble that's become the norm. Having recently gone thru the painful lengthy immigration process to get my wife from Phuket here...I understand his experience. He has valid points and reasonable advice. Not sure why we need to see pictures of the house though. His success was made plenty clear verbally. That being said I wish him and his family continued good luck.
