Living now in India with 2nd wife; she is Mizo, which from facial features is Chinese/Thai derivation.

Worked for 25 years as an aircraft system engineer - did system definition for engine, hydraulics, anti-ice, etc.

Have kids (age 26+) in California, Florida, Iowa, and Chiang Mai.

Have found it quite difficult socially in my wife's home town in India, as there is only one other foreigner in my city of 500,000. Plus, there are no bars or coffee shops, and most people are reluctant to use their English.

Am looking for a place where it's easier to find at least a few like-minded guys to socialize with. From this forum and Teak Door, it seems like Chiang Mai might work - plus my son is here so it would be a double-win.
