  1. I know there are lot of private schools and the demand for italian is poor.

Just thinking what could I do in Thailand. I am swiss, my mothertongue is italian and I speak English, German and French too. But all that seems unuseful. My wife is thai.

  2. Very interesting your plans.

I am swiss and have thai wife (11 years) and we have 2 daughters (almost 6 and 3 years old).

Sometimes we think about going to live in Thailand, my wife is from Nakhon Si Thammarat (not far from Khanom).

But we are worried about finding a job or an income to live there and about the school for our daughters.

I am an economist / accountant and my wife is shop assistant. Not easy to find a job.

My mother language is italian, but I speak quite well english, french and german.

So please post your experience it may help other users, like me.

    Thank you

    Bye for now

  3. Just got back from NST.

Unfortunately this year we had no time to look for word or business.

We had so many work to do at home (renovation, new wall, etc).

Always busy. I was "sad" not to look for a job or business, but have to accept it.

An aunt of my wife said she has a shop in Koh Samui and it work great.

    We'll see next year.

In the meantime I hope to find a job here, that would be great too.

I just hate my actual job.

  4. Hello everybody !

    Thank you for your replies.

A friend of mine who lives in Pattaya said he saw the Sony PRS-T2 at Tukcom.

I think we will buy it in Thailand so we won't have problems with thai e-books.

It costs a little more but ... better to be quite sure.

  5. Hello,

I would like to buy a Sony ebook reader PRS-T2 for my wife (she is thai), we live in Switzerland.

I wrote to the Sony customer support wondering if an e-reader bought in Switzerland will "read" e-books written in thai.

They answered they are not pretty sure and it is better to buy it in Thailand (it is a little more expensive, no problem).

In an italian forum someone told me that he bought the same device for his wife in Italy and can read thai e-books without problems.

Is there anybody who has some sure information ?

Anybody bought this device in Europe and reads e-books in thai (or any other non-latin language) ?

    Thank you.

  6. Hello,

last year I have been to Don Muang airport for a flight to south Thailand and I saw only one restaurant (fast food if I remember good).

Does someone know if there are more or new restaurants ?

I will be there at lunch time.

    Thank you

  7. Hello !

In two months I will be back in Thailand, wife and daughters will arrive sooner.

Now the "lust" to expat is very low, I think it will grow when I'll be back.

I thought a lot and arrived at a conclusion: I don't neek to expat.

If I had a good job (one that I like) I could stay here in Switzerland.

The problem is that I have a work that I hate.

In this year a had quite a lot of job interviews, but I always "arrived" 2nd or 3rd.

I miss something to get the "pole position".

I hope to get a new job soon and go to Thailand only for holidays (and in 20 years maybe for rest).

    Bye for now
