  1. Fixing the infrastructure would be welcome- sidewalks, roads, and utility poles.

Build a big cage for the hookers on the outskirts and lock them in so decent tourists can go and visit.

Come on now, your a regular, admit it :o

    Regular what???????????????????

Seriously I hope the money is well spent therefore the projects are planned with consultation.

  2. Neeranam,

Go get the Toyota Vigo -- within a day you'll ask the mods to delete your origination post.

Save up for it or buy on finance terms, but go buy it.

I had a look actually today at a Isuzu pick-up in the local supermarket. It looked very comfortable inside, apart from the back seat. 800,000 seems good value. Maybe a bit too big though, I don't need such a big engine - 2500cc, I think it was.

I do understand why so many guys I know buy them.

There also seems to be more high "sleeping policemen" around town, maybe this is due to these pick-ups being able to go over them at high speed.

Maybe it will be a case if I can't beat them, join them :o There seems to be heaps of these Toyota Vigos appearing on the country streets. Reminds me of a movie I saw yesterday(I Robot) where the robots took over :D

I am buying a house first(not sure where yet), and if it means driving "chonabot", or on rough ground, who knows.

House in your name I hope.

  3. I was thinking of coming to Thailand to see if there was anyway I could help..I have been coming to Thailand for 15yrs and have worked in many places and can speak very good Thai......but is there enough people there already and would it just cause more congestion?

    Dandy

As you've posted this in the pattaya forum i'll ask- Help what??? :D

You can help me sell more drinks if you like (by getting pissed :o ) :D

Well I probally have already got pissed at your bar as I spent many nights in Pattaya.

Let me know where it is in Pattaya and I'll let you know

Lots of Bars in Pattaya, what makes you think you have been in his???

    Did you intend posting???????????????

  4. Yeah its at the top end of the bus station, ie: opposite end from the beach road. Its ok, do a good breakfast. Wouldn't say it was that special though. Better food IMO, further down the road at the Arroi.

Garden of Eden opened back up a few months ago, under new management and name.

New Irish bar just opened next door [Websters] a lot more up-market :o

I have eaten here, very good and inexpensive.

The new Irish Bar/Pub is called Crawfords will be realy nice with excellent food, you wont see any of the above postee's here as to upmarket for them.

  5. petchburi is an atmospheric thai town , relatively unpolluted by falangs and pizza and darts.

the coastal strip between petchburi and cha-am is worth a look.

and might make a good place to live.

should you feel the need for some intellectual stimulation the community of sozzled, dribbling and drooling falang retirees is not too far away in cha-am.

judging by what i read from cha-am posters here i get the impression it's a cross between felixstowe and frinton but without the excitement.

you should check them out on your trip (the coastal strip , not the zombies)

turn left off the main road at big C to haat chaaw samraan and explore.

This is about it, the beach at Puktian and Cha Am Lagoon avoid the town as it has its problems. Load motorbikes and Bannana boats, dogs all over the place, its a place where the Thais go with pick-ups loaded with Thais and food and booze.

  6. :o The grass is always greener, there are other places you know, Thailand aint the be all and end all.

Depends what you want, if its the BG's there cheaper in other places. If its the food its better in other places. If its the climate its better in other places. Its cheaper in other places, upto you.

  7. On the flip side... your 19yr old daughter is 'dating' a 55yr old guy.... ok with you? No, this guy is obviously taking advantage... the craddle snatching perv....  :o

well obviously you don't what you are talking about :D

its quite acceptable in most societities for young women to have older man, in fact it adds to their status symbol :D

if my daughter went with a older man, who was financialy stable and secure why not, would you rather have her to go out with a rice farmer or a tattoed punk :D

get real here, in paris, the gals hate the younger man because they treat them like sh1t, mature older man treat them with respect, hope you get it :D

Think its more the case of the younger guy can take his pick while the silly old git who should know better has no choice, keep paying and hope it last as long as you have money.

  8. Yes It certainly seems Pattaya is becoming the second home of the overly tatooed lagerlout on a busmans retirement or holiday.

Samui is becoming a very close second.

Its a shame they get so agressive when they have had a skinful....best leave that one back in birmingham or leeds!!.

Have to agree theres not much worse than old old 55 year old pommy trying to speak pidgin thai to prove hes a longtermer or hes cool.

The only thing that will stop this is the thai baht increasing to where its too expensive for these 10 quid a dayers to come.

The 'gone native' guy sitting at a cheap crappy noodle stall happily looking smugly up at other farang as they file past

Miserable, cynical female farangs giving 'that' look as you walk past with your Thai partner

Losers trying to pass themselves as English teachers (you know who you are)

The <deleted> shouting in awful bargirl Thai while I'm trying to play a game of pool

The same guy saying "dalling" and "I go with you" jokingly at regular Thai girls

The farang thug (increasingly getting common this) behaving in an aggressive friendly or friendly aggressive way towards other drinkers

The farang on the small nonaircon green bus...get a f**king life will you

The disillusioned sorry-arsed red leather faced sex tourist with no ticket home propping up a bar on Soi Cowboy or anywhere in Pattaya

The old queers who have retired in Pattaya trying to live a 'normal' life in and around Pattaya, who have nothing to do but cruise Sunni Plaza

Ditto sad straight losers above who strut around with their dog-faced ex-bargirls in tow

Anyone trying to live a 'normal' life in Pattaya

Expats who still believe that Pattaya is home to Thai culture, because they haven't been anywhere else but Isarn

The group of drunk good ol' boy tourists on the train trading obscene gogobar stories with each other as if nobody in hearing range could possibly understand what they're talking about (myself included). I'm sure a number of the Thais must also understand and be offended.

Koh Samui is the new Torremilinos by the look of things recently

Get a life yourself, instead of worrying what others do.Have you ever wondered how people look at you.Go back to were you came from and judge the people their

    Bet you have a gottie.

    :o

Live and let live, who the ###### are you guys. Bet the majority have prostitiutes as a partner. Dont throw stones in glass houses.

    :D

  9. I my experience all Thai women want more money, but some accept the pre-arranged amount.

Some girls genuinely want to leave the bar-life and settle with a good man who will teat her well, not screw her best friends and be trustworthy and loyal.

Some women don't recognise a good man when they see one and will search endlessly for a richer partner.

The original poster of this message should rid himself of this woman A.S.A.P.

If you look carefully, you will find a good lady, I believe you have more chance of a (good) girl from the bar rather than a non-bar girl.

    Wilson Steer.

What rubbish, you are saying you prefer a prostitute to a girl that has kept herself for a relationship and not an illegal activity. You have lost it big time.

  10. All true, especially what the knowledgeable Professor stated -- but we can't do a ###### thing about any of it -- the bigger picture?  yeah, all these complaints, and it still is the best place to live, bar none.   Place the focus there amigos.

Want to go back to England and have your soul just say "<deleted>  it?"

Or back to the States and crawl on the San Diego  freeway in total misery and ask yourself frequently, "what the ###### am I doing here in this slow-death purgatory?"

God do I love it so!

Harmonica, couldn't agree more. Wouldn't live anywhere else on the planet. Don't understand these guys. Do they believe Thai's actually read this farang thread and are going to "shape up" because a few whiney foreigners say they should? If I do recall, we had our share of pollution, filth, crime, etc. back in the good ole USofA. And if some foreign d**khead were to come over to the US and complain about our way of life, I certainly would tell him to go the heck back to where he came from (after telling him to go piss up a rope). So it wouldn't surprise me if the average Thai would respond in pretty much the same way.

    :o Most definetly agree Dude.

  11. Tell them nothing, if they are stupid enough to fall into the trap then they deserve all they get. Who are the educated ones the Thai girlie or the westerner who should know better.

As for the guy who brought up the infamous "BG" some guys only mix with "BG's" so can only relate to that lifestyle.
